I post album 1 and 2 week with a horizontal layout, and later changed on vertical, I need to post again? And if not difficult, is there any other errors? http://imgur.com/a/rVFnn http://imgur.com/a/wAhVy PS Sorry for my bad english |

I am really disappointed to learn after completing all three groups that the rules were changed to require uncloaked ships. Why was there no notification of this change? A quick dev blog or game news bulletin would have been appreciated. I did not think I needed to keep checking the forum throughout the contest! I took my photographs with ship cloaked, or using the "look at" function to get better looking photos. Surely the Sanctuary appreciates artistry! I hope you will reconsider this as you award prizes. |

Well, I just got done with all the pictures and submitted all 3 Tier albums to their specific threads. Definitely was one hell of a trip, a lot of jumps required to do this event contest.
I gotta say the most toughest picture to get was finding the Wolf-Rayet worm system. Took quite a few hours and a lot of scanning to finally get one.
The most dangerous picture to get was my own pod on fire. I mean come on, that's something no Capsuleer wants to see. Need to have an alt character or in my case, a very good trusted friend to get that picture. Thanks Kor.
As for the traveling into low, null and worm systems, that was no problem with a Nulli Cloaki Probi Loki.
Now about this :

Nothing is too difficult for us Capsuleers, except maybe getting into Jove space. Any chance of letting us know what image you guys thought was too difficult for us?

Eyjafjallajokull is a planet in wormhole space. Think how long it would take you to find that. |

I am pretty sure this rule has been in effect since the beginning. I remember reading it during week one and feeling a little anxious that I would be heading into nulsec and have to uncloak for pics.
Of course, I could be wrong. "He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself." |

This rule was not in effect from the very beginning, it was introduced during the first week. The devs already declared that the rule will not be enforced for the first week's set cause people had already started or even finished that one by the time the rule was added. But the rule is in effect for weeks 2 and 3.

I understand that is what CCP stated in posts in this thread.
But there was no notice in the Sanctuary channel MOTD nor in the posts that announced group 2 and 3. It would have been easy to add a "hey, we changed the rules on you!" note. I had no expectation that I needed to follow this thread, and I'll be angry if I am not eligible for the rewards after putting in many days this month to get all the photos.
I'm not even sure why the rule change was necessary. If they wanted more ships to get destroyed, I could just self-destruct a ship in Jita. As it was, I still lost a covops to a gate camp in null. Cloaking is not a free-pass. |

I've scanned down and entered at least 100 worm holes and haven't found a Wolf-Rayet Star. Am I just unlucky or am I missing something? This is the last photo I need and I'm getting very frustrated.

All I can suggest is making sure you're using an out of game site to check the hole you're in (the good ones can pull your location from the in-game browser if you let them, making this very quick). I'm not sure if it's possible to check your hole type without them.
If you're already doing that, sorry about the bad luck. Wolf-Rayet systems make up over 6% of all wormhole systems, so you are very unlucky. |

It may be that you've come across one or more and not realised. I know some sites with pictures of wolf-rayets have the sun next to them giving the mpression that it is 2 stars together.
I must have only gone through 20 or so wormholes and found a few but at first I was looking for a two star effect so missed a few I could have taken a screenshot of.
Also, about the whole uncloaked rule it was there from the day I started the competition which was on the first or second day. |

Haseo Antares wrote:Doc Lucius wrote:I'm having fun searching for all these sites. However, I am having some frustrations with the Wolf-Rayet star. I've visited a couple dozen wormholes already. Any strategies/tips? Are the wolf-rayet systems evenly distributed between C1, C2, ..., C6 or are they only found in a certain class? It may be all random, but if anyone has some helpful tips, they would be greatly appreciated! Scan for wormholes in k(known)-space rather than scanning down wormhole chains in J(WH)-space...that way there are less signatures that you need to scan down. I've seen several J-space systems with 80+ signatures. Also, pay close attention to any notifications that may pop up after jumping through a wormhole. If you do not get a pop-up notification about system wide effects, there is zero chance that the system is a Wolf-Rayet. If you do get that notification, enter the locus signature into StaticMapper to identify the environmental effects of the system. Good luck!

I had thought that the sun type would be Wolf-Rayet, my mistake. Went on a 10 hop jaunt during lunch and found a wormhole that had one in it.
On the positive side, I'm really good at scanning down sites now. |

First, thank you CCP Goliath CCP Eterne and whoever else is working behind the scenes. Damn, do you have (nobil) work ahead of you in validating pictures. It is appreciated.
With that said (excuse me if it's been answered) do we have a more precise time for the Grand Prize drawing and consolation goodies distribution? |

Prizes will be coming over the course of the next week or two. No firm date, as we are awaiting people to come back from vacation, but shouldn't be longer than that (with the exception of the monument component of the grand prize, which will take longer.)
Thanks to everyone who participated in this event. It was great fun to run and amazing to read so many stories along with the pictures. If you've got any more stories, or general feedback on the event, please feel free to share it here! CCP Goliath | QA Director | EVE Illuminati | @CCP_Goliath |

Actually I enjoyed the event immensely. I even dropped corp so not to draw the Uni into sov null politics when I skulked around taking pictures and looking for a WH home.
I understand that the logistics of it make the concept challenging but I do wish that next time there be a 'quality' aspect to the grand-prize winner. Someone encapsulated it perfectly as, "A monument to the winner of a raffle." Which is what it is.
Maybe crowd source it, by letting people vote for their favourite...
Regardless of how you implement the next one I am looking forward to it! |

I think the raffle method works best...otherwise Gooonswarm would have every voter based competition/event locked down. Plus it would take forever to inspect every single screenshot...a task that is sure to drive at least one Dev to rage quit lol. The comp was ahell of a lot of fun. One of the best bits for me was coming across the 300km in every direction gate bubble XD the guys in that system were cool but damn it took ages to slwo boat through without breaking cloak on one of them. Lots of fun to do though
As for suggestions for more I don't know. I think a raffle at the end is the best way to hand out the grand prize for something like this. Unless it's acompetition which has a clearly defined winner then raffle is fairest. |
