A contest that actually looks interesting! No alliance voting blocks. Exploration in the sense of looking around EVE (not the mini-games).

It looks like the entries will be limited to one per account but a clear statement might be best.

Please just create 2 separate galleries - one for you and one for us Vetting the entries is gonna be tough enough as it is! Feel free to share your UI hidden gallery in this thread though, because I'm sure it will be very pretty!

This is great! I already have several of the Group 1 images from previous screenshot excursions, but it will be fun to do again. Great to see the Sisters of Eve are promoting interstellar tourism.

The only UI elements that need to show are the ones we have asked for.

for Group 2, my suggestions:

Goon station in B-DBYQ (uncloaked and less than 10k from the undock)
Mr Vee Absolution in combat (this one must be taken from a expensive fitted T3 ship, uncloak and from less than 30k from him)
DBRB body in space surrounded by at least 100 TFI or tengu recs (this one is easy)

Does the system clock requirement refer to the EVE game clock or do I really need to have the operating system clock visible in the screenshots? An example screenshot would have helped to avoid any confusion.

Cause each time I try joining to start takign pics I get this:

Does this exception also cover the "Your ship must be visible" part? Because I made one or two of my screenshots via "Look at" before you edited in this rule.

This will be great fun. Even though this doesn't involve a special in-game camera device, it's a personal mission of mine to play every video game with a photography mechanic. And most are terrible. Screenshot contests are often the better way to go.

Ever read the rules of a real photo contest? They are generally well thought out, clearly written and unambiguous.

In the rules it sais "join the chat channel and have it open" - in the MOTD of the chat channel itself, it sais this MOTD needs to be visible. I only noticed that part after i took all of my my screenshots, uploaded them, and compared them to others. As i never really bothered to actually read the MOTD (shame on me for that).

I'm pretty sure my entry meets all the criteria but I'd hate to find out after the contest was over that I missed some minor detail. Especially given the amount of time available to retake shots.

I'm looking at the Week 2 list, and it asks that we photograph "Dense Arkonor". Umm, am I missing something? Doesn't Arkonor only come in Crimson and Prime variants? Ore [ha] is it something else entirely?

I fail to make a link between the contest main theme and this part. And considering that the Help channel is the biggest troll nest in EVE, I consider this part as mission impossible and quit the contest.

There is no CONCORD station at Yulai X, it's a DED station. CONCORD HQ is at Yulai IX.

I'll look into the feasibility of someone going through all the images early and checking to make sure they are valid and somehow letting people who did it wrong know.

After about 130 jumps without entering a station, taking 16 screenshots (1st and 2nd week) my shuttle was blown up by a camper at Sansha's Wormhole. Damn you!

Apologies if this has already been asked but, does the "Your ship must be visible and uncloaked in the screenshot." apply to the Help channel answer one? I did it while in station with the Help window obscuring most of my ship. Is that OK?

Edit: Actually, the market screen is obscuring my ship in this screenshot too.

The mac client doesn't support anti-aliasing. So, instead of polluting my computer with a bootcamp windows partition, I curse all those who participate in this contest with system crashes. Second, I set my imgur galleries for both groups to 'Vertical' as requested, but did you actually mean 'Blog' layout (which puts all the pics in descending VERTICAL order) or really mean the 'Vertical' setting (which is in fact not very vertical)?

Are you aware that the aesthetic quality of the pictures is irrelevant for this contest? I run this on minimum graphics and while my pictures are not nearly as pretty as everyone else's, challenge and fun are the same and so are my chances of winning.

It could still be hundred+ unless the third group really filters out people. I'm more curious about what the unique landmark will be? I can't see it really being something like: "In celebration of the winner of a lucky random draw". It might have nothing to do with the competition and the name is just used in a landmark related to something completely different, maybe.

There contest rules state, that there will be 30 total images to take released in 3 groups of 10. The latest group only has 9 items though, so is there something missing?

I've scanned down a few wormholes but cannot find a way to tell if they have Wolf-Rayet stars or not - where is this information? I've looked up the wh's on various websites including Dotlan and not sure how to tell what kind of system I'm in. :-(

Our three options for #10 were "The Sign" (which apparently no longer exists), the planet Eyjafjallajokull, or a Sansha Incursion Mothership.

And the 10 corpses need not have your ship in the background, but should follow other rules.

I still have a question about the Vapor Sea - is it only visible from Stain, or is the nebula I took a picture of in Catch also the Vapor Sea?

Or even if it was, do they want us to take the pic from the Stain region only?

I don't know what you took a picture of, but the Vapor Sea nebula is visible from several regions.

How did you get that idea? The task is to make a screenshot of "Vapor Sea", it doesn't say Stain anywhere. Vapor Sea is in the empty space between several regions, so at the very least all those directly bordering regions should be equally valid.

Well my picture of what I think is the Vapor Sea is in here http://imgur.com/a/kkSrz#0 - I compared it to others shots and EvE Travel and I think it's the same nebula, but I don't know a way to check for sure.

The pic looks like it's the right one to me, the easiest way to make sure is to press F11 in space and check if you're looking in the right direction. You could also use the new visible autopilot route in space feature.

Week 3 is so far pretty tough but I learned a great deal.
So far 13 deaths:
2x in a gate camp on my way to Steve (in a shuttle). Doing the podexpress
1x Because I joined a corp with jump clone service which is currently at war. Got podkilled in front of Dodixie and was wondering what all the red guys are doing here without Concord intervention
10x self destruct to produce the corpses cheaply and fast and not having to fly to Dodixie again....Very bizarre. Made a contract to sell them. Could be a new Noob profession. time effort ca. 30 minutes. Cost 665000 ISK for clone upgrades.

Lucky moments:
-First wormhole I scanned and entered was a Wolf-Rayet....
-cov ops bombers with torpedos and target painters have a hard time to kill a shuttle

Next try to reach Steve and finalize week3:
As soon as I can fly a Helios with a cov ops cloak

Now that we are almost done, the prizes are nice, but how about throwing a medal that I can point to and say "I worked for the SOE on this assignment".

All the prizes can be bought or sold and (except for the grand prize) I am left with nothing that commemorates my participation on the event.
