I'll take it out on Blizzard.. ----- my playstyle is anti-pirate. what does this mean? it means you'll never catch me in a valuable ship and/or setup where it can be compromised. go on, trade your ammo for the scraps you'll get.

Having said that, you were still right in your "assumptions". Glass girl: If the community wasn't mature you'd be seeing alot of threads with empty threats, alot more whining and alot more of bad/leet spelling/grammar. Eve Online is inexpensive in comparison to other online games (most of which you have to buy off game stores shelves). All of the expansions have been free and will most likely remains so - no SOE-greed going on here. And at least they let us know what is happening, as opposed to other MMOGs. Eve expansions actually have real gameplay changes, not just "add content, stir, make money".

But somehow after about 100 posts saying 'please stop whining and do something else, productive, outside, etc' i just don't see that it's going to happen. Someone needs to go over to their house and knock em the fvkc out for a couple of houres. I think that's the only way!

This patch has alot of fixing of ships, new ships being added and new mods and bps that need seeding. Its alot bigger than most patches were used to. So the 28 hr downtime might be actually needed. Now im not saying I know it all but this is common sense. More content more improvments longer DT

It helps to keep most in the community from screaming for blood. Just to use your example: CCP estimates 10 hours but pushes it to 28 instead of saying 24 hours and having it slip 4 hours to 28 (so far). (note: 10/4 == 2.5 * 24 == 60hours ... the equivalent of your example of 4 hour projection but the 10 hour reality but with a 24hour base instead) If they had done that IÆd be seriously po'ed along with quite a few others IÆm sure. Personally, considering they have acknowledged that this is a very major patch, I'm only going to be po'ed if they slip past 48 hours I can see nothing wrong with giving the community a (hopefully) more accurate estimate on down time for such a major patch. If it slips 4 or 6 hours then they are at least to be applauded for being closer to the mark compared to other patches. And with that there is also the hope that the patch will not suffer the same problems as previous ones since they are taking more care. Patience is a virtue.
