Avatars have absolutely nothing to do with social interaction, which will be done via text chat even with avatars. Tbh avatars are for guys who lack imagination, and are incapable of immersion without them. Because the plethora of Avatar based RPGs are for people without imagination. Just confirming that games like Neverwinter Nights (where people created/modded/scripted entire worlds and server with custom lores and completely new story lines with massive player-bases of role-players) are for people who lack imagination. These are the people who spend their time writing mini-novels and writing detailed back stories for their characters. Just to confirm, these people lack imagination. Sarcasm aside, you could say the same for people who want any new Spaceship content. Just imagine the spaceships are balanced right? You don't need CCP to do any of it.
And people do the same (write novellas, create their own storylines) in EVE, which has no avatar gameplay whatsoever?
All I'm saying is that 3D avatars are not required in EVE to interact with others, neither do they lead to immersion. I'd argue that it's easier to do IC when you don't have to associate yourself with a pixel person.
(FWIW: Shinjiketo is a RP-lite alliance and I absolutely love the RP aspect to EVE, having IC motives takes the game on a whole new level- I just don't need to see my avatar to achieve that)
Also, I find books more immersive than for example Skyrim at ultra gfx and tons of tweaks- fleshing out the fantasy world in detail does not compare to the vivid experiences created by one's imagination.

Well I guess they need to use one of those voice altering utilities (I have one but never use it).

They have already answered you. The CCP CEO actually apologized for what a terrible idea WiS was and promised to focus on actual Eve content. For the last two years they have done that and the game has done very well.
Real Eve players don't want gross roleplayers infesting our game.

Check your facts. CCP, since then, have repeatedly said they have all intentions of eventually implementing WiS. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |

As in all things actions speak louder than words. It's been a long, long time since anything was added to WiS.
CCP knows who pays their bills (hint, it's not furries and roleplayers).

There's not really a great deal of point arguing with you. Because you won't see sense, and you definitely wont post sense. But just for old times sake I'll prove you wrong one last time. A quote from one of the devs responsible for the latest prototpye speaking on the issue less than 6 months ago;
CCP RedDawn wrote:WiS is "shelved", not, and I re-iterate, not, completely and utterly abandoned... the overall consensus is that we, as devs want WiS to be out there and blowing all your minds right now. Some things take priority though, and some things take time Dead is it? Yea, all right. You obviously know best. "In the age of information, ignorance is a choice." |

Once it's undead, I'll unleash a shitstorm an RL Zombie Apocalypse would be a joke compared to it.
Don't waste your time with nonsense CCP - eve served you well - CQ resulted in the most massive crisis Eve has seen to date and Dust has failed.

Neither are nullseccers.
The single largest majority in EVE are solo hiseccers.
And when I look back at what CCP has been doing for us in the past 5 years, "underwhelming" comes to mind.
That's not necessarily bad; I guess I wouldn't be allowed to pay a mere 9.16 euros per month for this game if it was performing AAA in the subscriptions front.
And I count on playing it cheaper. I know they can, they will, they MUST offer a 50% rebate in the near future. The Greater Fool Bar is now open for business, 24/7. Come and have drinks and fun somewhere between RL and New Eden! |

When pubbies running missions in high sec space get a story written about them by the BBC maybe somebody will care. The fact is that nullsec is where all this game's publicity comes from.

Like a huge mall where you can go shopping For clothes ship modifications, luxury ships for style or even walk In to meet your friends in a bar station and have a drink. That to me would be phenomenal game experience in eve and attract New players because of the social out come of it.
I know that will never happen but I think if it were to happen More ppl would get highly addicted to eve online.

I don't think you even know what you're arguing any longer. Let me break it down for you...
People play this game for space content. Massive battles with over 4,000 people bring more attention (and then subscriptions) to the game than the ridiculous dreams of furries and roleplayers who want to be able to have dance parties and fashion shows in their CQs. |
