Well, that kind fellow genuinely is trolling, as should be rather obviously demonstrated by the fact that this program hasn't even existed for two months.

Hey there, folks!
It looks like we're up to thirty-five rental corporations, and a little bee tells me that we may be about to release some nw systems that will be of particular interest to people who may be bored of Nitrogen Isotopes and Guristas Pirates.
Make sure to reach out to the whole team if you're interested in renting from us--that way if any of us are out of town or so, another of us can answer your questions and see you settled in your new nullsec home! |

Good stuff, more systems = more opportunities.
If you're thinking of trying out nullsec profit-making, why not chat with some of us (remember, only authorized rental program representatives can finalize any deals) There are no goons. The goons' 0.0 dream is over.

There aren't renter CTAs. I brought a few interceptors out for me, and I'll bring in some warp in hammers next, which I expect I'll occasionally have to replace through general use, and so I'd imagine if the space is seriously invaded, I'll burn the lot up in renter defence fleets, but we'll never be in a CFC fleet, and at best we'd be given an objective with no CFC intel, and all the pressure to join will come from other renters, who have absolutely no ability to kick people out that don't contribute or are obviously evaccing assets.
I'll personally be happy with myself in the event of an invasion if at the end of it, I've burned all my pvp ships (or the invasion fails before I run out, whatever comes first). |

I think the term renter and pet is being mistaken for being the same thing.
"Pet" is generally used as a method to degrade the smaller alliances that form around the core alliance of a coalition, i.e. in the CFC the core would be Goonswarm and the "Pets" would be pretty much the rest of us, TNT, SMA, FCON etc etc. If these "pets" do not show up when the CFC is threatened without a good excuse then rightly so questions will be raised and perhaps they will be "back-stabbed" for being useless allies.
Renters on the other hand have only a contractual binding to the coalition, in that they pay isk for the use of the sovereignty that they rent and as long as they maintain their part of the bargain it would be finically destructive to do anything other than treat them as well as possible.
In renting, reputation is everything and since the CFC already started with a somewhat bad reputation in the view of the general public due to occasional ventures into high sec to murder innocents we are playing catch up. I can totally understand people letting others go first, but I think the current customer retain rate shows that there is nothing shady or dangerous about the CFC rental scheme, beyond the normal venture into 0,0.
As a PBLRD Customer Liaison feel free to contact me for more information via convo or mail in game, generally available in the EU/US TZs.

I have no intention of renting but I am curious...say a renter had a JF full of Isotopes rolling through HS to sell at a hub, would they be safe from Miniluv (or any future goon "screw highsec" antics for that matter)?

Free Bump Not very safe, the are probably permanently war-decked just like any other null alliance. Most people use either a freight service or out-of-alliance alts to do the hi-sec hauling. |

BE VERY VERY CAREFULL .............
As an Ex Renter I can now share my experience and also the other corps who are still renting or have left.
On the surface the renting from the Goons was a pleasant experience, the leadership was good and helpful.
However .................... like most things they fail to play it straight and fair.
You will pay for upgrades and they are happy to install but once 9/10 and 10/10 Anomalies start to appear in the area suddenly there are 3-4 man ex-goons corps doing the sites which have full docking rights to all the goon stations.
So unlike neutrals who you have a chance to catch they sit in station looking for the juicy targets.
It would be a perfect renting service if any they played it straight. |

I've had 1 cfc drop probes and then leave, and a couple of renters take content, which stopped after I told them that I rented my system. Obviously the more people in a renter corp the more likely one is to not know the rules.
I can see on dotlan if other people have been shooting stuff in my system, and I've had a total of 2 mazes spawn out of 18 total deds that have spawned. I've had 12 unrateds, of which 2 have been the staging post.
ie I find it kinda difficult to believe that people sat around your system waiting for a maze to spawn, the spawns are literally 3 weeks apart. |

Why would anyone put more than a large tower in a system? this 'savings' are anything but significant. You save 25% on fuel. That means on a large tower you can save almost 100mil per month and if you run a reaction you can cover the cost of the rent in savings
While true... not the full story... getting fuel out to the towers costs money too (jump fuel) so some of that savings is eaten by having to jump fuel out. that said... if running a reaction chain, the savings are definitely a nice bonus... though unless you have dozens of towers up at Goon rental prices you aren't going to 'cover the cost of renting' in fuel savings... not by a long shot.
Not saying their prices are bad... they're ok... but saying it'll pay for itself is a bit disingenuous.... in a 2b/month system you'd have to have 25 towers up to 'cover your costs in savings'.
Renting isn't bad though. My guys and I rent primarily because most of us are burned out on SOV warfare and just want to be able to pvp when and where we want without worrying about sov block wars overmuch. We're happy to PVP when we wish but we all grew tired of 'deploy deploy deploy' all the time a while ago :) Honestly... I don't care who we rent from as long as the price is right and the terms are fair.
Who knows... we may become CFC renters someday... all empires in EVE eventually fall ;) I'm happy to welcome whatever landlord next comes our way.
I do hate their moon rules though. The fact that they reserve R32's is a bit off-putting but other than that it's no different than anywhere else.
