Is it me or in mapSolarSystems, the x,y,z coordinates are not in the right order ? I am under the impression that on a given line, the x y z don't belong to the solar system described on that line, but to another one. So if you display them all, without the jumps, it's going to look ok, but if you start displaying the jumps as well, it won't connect the right points. It's either that or I have a nasty bug in my code that is hidding really well.

You must have a nasty bug, because the jumps don't specify x,y,z coordinates, only which systems they connect.
Now, if you plot a map, and it doesn't look like the EVE map, there might be a problem.
Note that to get a 2D map that's the same as the flattened map you want to look at the X and Z coordinates, not X and Y. I haven't put the new data in yet because of the other problems, but this is the way it used to be.

You misunderstood what I meant.
I know the jump table only has indexes, and when u plot all the systems, they look ok too. But I believe the coordinates of a given system are not actually its coordinates but the ones of another system. As an example, you could have Luminaire with the coordinates of Yulai and vice versa.

I compared the data with the Cold War data dump that was here before, and it seems like they are in the right order.
When I was skimming it though I noticed some problems. All of the numbers seemed to have been scaled by 1e16 compared to their previous values. There are also several cells where the values are actually text instead of a floating point number. If you take off the apostrophe at the start of the number, the result is the correct number, but scaled as the original numbers were, or a factor of 1e16 too small.
If there's enough systems like this it might make your map look pretty strange, with a cluster of systems along the axes.
Edit: Actually this seems to be what's gone wrong with the data in the types table, as well. Any values that are actually in floating point format are 1e16 too big. This also seems to be true for the security statuses in the solar systems table.

I've sent an email to [email protected] asking about the "miscData_RMR.xls" file because it is basically unusable at the moment.
Hopefully I'll get an answer soon. --

For all the people talking about the SQL format, it should be fairly easy to do a find/replace to change the SQL syntax. Besides, you should only realy need to change the table definition and the COMMIT commands.
Else, import them into MSDE, and use the widely available tools to migrate them into mySQL.

Can I join the queue of people wanting to have t20's babies?
One quick question: I can't see anything about (non T2) item build requirements in the SQL files. Am I being stupid, or is it not included?

Non T2 build requirements are minerals only, I would imagine they are in the blueprint tables? I've never investigated blueprint stuff, so I cannot be certain.

dbo_invBlueprintTypes.sql has stuff that I'd expect in the attributes part of a blueprint description, like ResearchCopyTime and so on. It doesn't appear to have bill of materials-style information.
dbo_InvTypes has blueprints, but only as items. Mind you, it does have

I can see TL2MaterialsForTypeWithActivity as a table in the SQL data burp, but as far as I can tell this deals with T2 manufacturing and RAM usage. I'm probably being stupid but I can't see any other material-related fields in the other SQL tables.

The dbo_TL2MaterialsForTypeWithActivity table does include all the data for T1 manufacturing as well as T2. Look for the 6 SQL statements in that table with a typeID of 683 and you will find all the necessary minerals for building a bantam
The data for manufacturing is actually tied to the blueprint and not the item iteslf, which I believe goes for both T1 and T2 items. In addition to manufacturing, the table also tells you what materials/skills/R.DBs you need for T2 blueprint copying and research.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. As I originally suspected, I am an idiot.
My only excuse is that I'm doing this at work and keep having to alt-tab to another window.

The new SQL feed kicks ass, thank you very much T20.
*Throws out all his import scripts*
P.S. for peeps asking where data is, and if they can have extra data. Everything you need is in the feed, you just need to read through it and figure out how it all links together. Agents, bps, min requirements, module reqs., etc, etc. Its all in there. Enkidu Production Manager
