LOL

Roark is a barrel of laughter... no wait.. barrel of spineless worms... no wait.. barrel of overgrown fungused nails from a Fedo

Ok enough with the silly talk. Roark you appear to be a boneheaded 17 year old brainwashed capitalist who thinks Ayn Rand really knew her stuff.

You also seem unable to offer good or fair deals and your threat of rescinding the bounty if you THINK that there is a a rat involved shows that no one should even take you up on this offer.

Hmmm, my opinion on this is that the bounty is valid. Hawkings had a choice to pocket the 100M from the biggest corp in the game, or do some sort of deal over it. I have to say that the offers from TTi were fairly stingey, but that's beside the point really. One thing that TTi clearly have enough of is cash and asking them not to use it against their enemies is a bit like asking M0o not to use anything bigger than a frigate.

A couple more comments - it was mentioned that there's no way to track a player down in the game to kill them. Well, yes there is - grab yourself a few highish level agents and see how long it takes to track someone down who doesn't move around a lot (eg a miner or a NPC hunter). It's actually remarkably easy, you can even find out what station some logged out in if they're not online. All you need then are some high level (read 4) sec-status repair agents and you're all set for assassinating people who live in or near empire space.

Someone else mentioned that one podding would be enough - well that would not really equate to causing more pain to Hawkings than he'd gain from the 100M. I would say that 100 poddings is probably excessive and not likely to have the desired result in any case. If it were me I'd put a bounty out on information leading to a podding by myself or someone I'd trust. I would also put a bounty on every single member of the corporation he was in when he committed the 'crime', and also make it known that a bounty would be placed on any corporation that would accept him into their ranks in the future. Judging from his posts this is the thing that bothers Hawkings the most, and so it's the weak spot I would attack. But then, I guess I'm far more ruthless than TTi :-)

Ultimately, Hawkings made a valid choice and TTi made a valid decision to attack him using wealth. If people want to accept Hawkings into their ranks to protect him, then that's valid too.

I was just wondering if another member of TIT would like to buy a single piece of Tritanium, although I am willing to offer up Pyerite or possibly even Mexallon instead, for 100,000,000 ISK ?? Rolling Eyes

That way they could place a ridiculously high 'grief' bounty on me too when I refuse to give them back their hard earned money !!

2 me it sounds like old boy James is the griefer. Taking his ill gotten wealth and running leaves Roark sitting on his thumbs. So Roark did what most of the people in the game wouldn't even think about, He offered Mr Hawkings a reward to do the right thing. When Hawkings made it clear that he wasn't down with the right thing he then had the idea of using the best means at his disposal(isk) to get his idea of retribution. Kudos Roark. One Thing though...while I'm not a big fan of all these big bad pirates with all there clever witticisms that feed on GM's and frigates I do think if you are going to pull 500m out of Hawking's frozen corps by paying pirates and bounty hunters to do the dirty work for you then in a way your a Pimp for the piratesVery HappyBut hey it's his bad and your call gl.

That's BS, roark put bad buy order. A buy order is a buy order, and James fullfilled it, who is he to question buyers motivs?

He has no moral obligation whatsoever to give the money back in Eve, but he could if he wanted accept that bad deal that he got.

Roark has likewise full right to set bounty on whomever he wants if he can afford it. James has full right to use that bounty for his personal gain as well.

Now you may mix in a lot of abstracts like Pride, Moral, Fair-Play, Stupidity, etc.

It's all fair IMHO, James got 100 mil, the bounty is on him, he still have choices. None of this would be an issue if Roark could suck it up. Yes 100 mil is a lot of profit trading ships, but hey, mistakes come with a price.

Calling James griefer and whatnot is irrelevant.
