as title, cant patch from launcher, just loops if i try manual non launcher method.
whats going on i dont see any stickys, any CCP comments i cant find anything just a few others saying they have issues?
Please dont nuke my settings and force me to re-DL everything or i cant play for a few days sadface.

I have three computers stuck at "Creating patch 15%".
Understatement of the week: The launcher is not a great piece of software.

The Server doesn't have an update available issue only lasts for a few seconds after closing down the initial stuck update.
Then you can return to being stuck at 15%

Same issue here, either get "The server you are connecting to doesn't have a published update package" or the update gets to 15% and freezes depending on how my launcher feels. Running from exefile.exe works no better and the repair tool throws and error too.
Any workarounds would be greatly appreciated. . |

No luck.Eve launcher fails and the repair tool errors with "Data package unavailable" under administrator settings.
Can anyone confirm if the server crashed or is it just not accepting previously unpatched client request?

Repair tool does not work. Opening exefile.exe manually and it downloaded an update but it just opens the patcher and this cycle resumes.

Similar issues since 1.1 with every new update I get an exception.
After trying everything. The only solution is to redownload and install the new client, which I have done 5 times since 1.1 updates. |

Same here. My client wants an update but the server does not want to share it.
If I run repair.exe it seems to do something, but then complains that there is no data package on the server.
Started exefile as admin, it restarts and patches some stuff. Patches launcher too. Restarts, launcher wants an update but cannot find it. |

Can you identify the patch file required please as those stuck out of game may be able to get it off a someone who patched earlier and use the import patch function on the launcher.

Got it working.
Repair tool gave me this error:
PackageUnavailableError: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/606479/RepairData_606479.dat
Then I tried opening the URL in the browser http://cdn1.eveonline.com/606479/RepairData_606479.dat, took a few
reloads until it wanted to download it.
After that the repair tool finished, then the launcher worked again.

I was having the same issue, "stuck at 15" as well as the other one which said no patch available blah blah
Tried running the actual eve launcher NOT the EXE file as an admin and BAM!! it worked immediately, might just have been me but give it a try. |

GOT MINE WORKING - I DID THE FOLLOWING
Manual Patch (run evefile.exe from bin folder)
Let it do its thing. when the launcher restarts CLOSE it and run repair tool.
eve then worked for me (direct evefile.exe from bin folder) .

Got it working for me!
Go into the Bin folder and run the "exefile.exe" in admin.
It will bypass the launcher and update properly.
NOT the exe file in the main directory....the one in the BIN folder.
EDIT: Nevermind.........it only got so far before not working either......damit |

Your livelihood is based upon keeping a service operating. think ahead and have redundancy so you swap over when 1 piece of equipment fails. that way the paying customer isn't shafted :) Just a thought. |

I just managed to get back in so hopefully a fix has been implemented. Launcher went through a validating client stage and then completed update. |

I worked at Dillard's (department store) and anytime they were rolled out a patch, they first ran it concurrently in a select system to ensure it would not bring down the company. also, if something went wrong, they ALWAYS had redundancy to quickly remedy |

Sometimes I really got surprised in how CCP could mess something so basic like test server, preproduction and production server doctrine...
And they are even so borious to refuse certified candidate when they put out some opening for project management...
Maybe they are scared to have to pay some PMP to bring them on the route of creating established production process...
Of course no SLA at all in they're beautifull and balanced TOS... |

C'mon stop complaining, I think (and hope) CCP is doing their best to fix it... sh... erhm "things" happens especially when releasing new versions. And given the load on the servers while every single player it's patching, it's very hard to test it before the actual release.

no it is not hard to test a patch. you run a concurrent server system, like many companies do, and you see what it does to that one before you roll it out the the main servers. Do you grab a paper clip and jam it into an electricval outlet? NO. you get your little brother to do it first. :) |

Me too.
I did the manual patch as above, ran the repair tool (which failed) then just ran the launcher using my normal task bar EVE icon. The launcher validated the client (which took a couple of minutes) and then the patch was successfully applied.

Every ******* time these guys release a patch I hold my breath.
Incredible. Many MANY people I play with get regularly screwed every time a patch comes out.
The incompetence at CCP is hard to even grasp....

Was broken here too - but Raimundo Desilu advise really made my evening. 
My solution:
After deactivating the option in the launcher to delete used patches, I had to run the EXE file directly to initiate the patch. Now it was finished correctly.
I also had my firewall (Win7 Firewall Control) switched off during patch process, because I often had issues with that while patching directly from EXE and not from the launcher. |

Finally worked on my second run through the entire process . . . . I wish they'd just switch back to the old launcher. Much more simple in my book. Stop trying to copy other companies CCP and just use what works. |

CONFIRMING WORKS:
1. Manual Patch (run the evefile.exe from bin folder, (make sure its the one in C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin)
2. Let it do its thing updating. when the pop up launcher restarts CLOSE IT ASAP. and run repair tool located in C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE.
3. when the repair tool completely finishes (was approximately 3 minutes of fixing) reopen the evefile.exe located in C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin
4. Login like normal.

Launching ExeFile.exe in BIN folder causes "Incompat version" error, starts update download. Download completes, launcher opens for 10 seconds, then closes. Re-launch ExeFile loops back to beginning again. I've done this three times already, same result. Launcher won't patch, ExeFile won't run. Now the update seems to be in a download/install loop.

Same problem here.
Re-installed eve 3 times now past the last patch from 11th. Every time a patch is inserted (which is nearly every day), the patching launcher dies, running eve from bin/exefile does-¦nt work, and repairtool gets stuck at some point.
I have the feeling that my +4 year career in eve is over soon. |
