Edited by: xaioguai on 15/01/2006 23:31:50 Edited by: xaioguai on 15/01/2006 23:31:07 I've recently discovered numbers of account were ban from CCP,and many of them are chinese with verious reason. sadly, some of them are my in game buddies.
As a channel admin of chinese channel and veteran player, I welcome CCP's action against those Chinese ISK farmers. however, many of them claim innocent and cry to me for help. Sadly, being busy in RL plus writing articles for Chinese noobs already take most of my game time, I cannot help them much beside direct them to EVE customer support mailbox. Many of them decide to quit the game because it is impossible for them to write a email to CSR due to language barrier.
I am not here to claim they are innocent, but I will like CCP can have a Chinese language CSR mailbox which can help the players who claim they are innocent. It is also a good thing to jump start training chinese CSR/GM if the Chinese server plan is acutally on going.
BTW, shouldn't CCP attach server log in addition to just a plain reason when benning an account? After all, my petition for ship destruction never went through due to "there were no server problems registered at the time of this incident" So some proof that make you take the action to close an account will be really welcome.

Edited by: voogru on 15/01/2006 23:35:01 I am pretty sure they are carefully investigated before being banned.
The fact that a large majority of blatant farmers are not banned for months probably means they are investigated really deeply.
About them claiming innocence, of course they would deny it. It's human nature.

I think it's reasonable to expect if CCP take money from Chinese players that they are able to provide support for Chinese players.
Then again is it reasonable to expect a player on a game that uses a variant of English to speak English?
What won't happen, though, Xaioguai is CCP explaining to you why any players were banned, it's in the terms and conditions that they won't discuss with a third party.

It usually takes over a month between a petition being submitted, and a currency farming fleet being banned. This suggests that where a case is provable, the checks are exhaustive. If anything, the pace of enforcement is too slow.

Signed.
P.S. Ignore anyone's racism against the Chinese. You're welcome here, and there's nobody in EVE who can say otherwise.

my best advice to chinese players is: get into a player corp asap. NPC corp miners, particularly with chinese names are absorbing a lot of cacky atm

Good idea. Real chinese players should make corporations, and not allow macro miners or the like in. -- Proud member of the [23].

Its fine.. ban all the chinese speaking players.. we dont need them lagging up our servers considering they cant even speak the language of the game.

Hmmmm... not entirely correct. I, myself finds difficulty understanding variants of English. Not everyone can write understandable "mail-perfect" English. Sometimes, I find it easier to understand them by actually making the effort to have a real-time conversation. You wouldnt believe it can be difficult to talk through mails for some subjects. ----------------

Well, we did have all that password trouble earlier. Maybe CCP are still freezing and auditing some accounts? I can't speculate. It is solely up to the account owner to discuss such matters with CCP.

And what about the Germans that don't speak good english?
Or the Japanese?
Or the Dutch like Sonofollo who can't spell worth a damn?
Or the Brazillians?
Do you suggest that EVE's market be restricted to those who took English in high school? Have you forgotten about the fact that a Chinese input system has been hardcoded into EVE? Do you think its there for no reason?
American Jingoism has no place here. If you're American, which it sounds like you are, I feel embarrased to have you in my country and speaking my language. Sickening.

That doesn't mean there aren't mistakes and misunderstandings. A friend of mine was got a permanent ban...and then had his account reinstated Not that it was due to macro mining or anything, but still. __________________________ Indulge Me |

It's obviously sarcasm. Besides, the game now supports all languages. Even if switching character sets is a pain.

I'm not Chinese, but that has got to be one of the most offensive postings I have ever read on any of the Eve forums, even if it was meant in jest. I hope the only thing that comes from that comment is that you yourself get an extremely long ban from the game.

I won't caretheless about those still in the NPC corp, coz they are either farmers or one that just start the game hense won't lose much to start over. What brought to my attention are some players that are in player corps and have pretty good NPC corp standing. I can hardly believe a macro miner with 5.0 standing toward caldari navy

Personally I have no problems understanding the Americanised English that Eve uses, still infuriates me that an international game uses a localised language, but that's besides the point!
Perhaps a multi-language disclaimer should appear when setting up any new account - trial or not - saying that the support language is a butchered form of English, and that while conversations in-game can be in any language, official support will not be.
Either that, or decide that since the international market is 'worth it' then all major languages should be supported.

I wonder where the rules r that say this ain't a game for non english speaking players??? This is a game for EVERYONE...So let them speak what language they want, if u can't understand them, don't talk to them, or just quit the game...And they aren't lagging up the server more than me or u do...We play as we like, and they play as they like...So stop being rascist here....

Well said. I've also had no problems with being banned (although I've been banned from the forums a few times ). I'm also sure CCP will have a chinese language support/gm system when they launch their chinese server cluster.
