I fought for the CFC from its earliest days until a little before the tribute war. I wouldn't fight for them now simply because I prefer the underdog side, but I remain an avowed "Goonist" and strongly believe in their vision for how Eve should be played, nullsec gameplay in particular. Furthermore, if it ever again came down to eleetpeeveepee trying to wipe out groups who leverage large numbers of more casual players, I would X up again. Stepping aside from the video game stuff and speaking simply as a dude, i want to ask you a question: How do you respond to people who talk to you the way you talk to others. I'm serious, have you ever been doing something, then some one ran up to you and said, "Dinsdale, you should be doing this that way....of course, I know you aren't going to do that"? Did you then just suddenly change course, ignoring your own best interests and all the successes of your past to prove that naysayer wrong, to show him that "of course i'm going to do it that way!!!"? No one listens to you (or joins with you to test things on sisi.....) not because it's some massive conspiracy against you, but because you don't know how to talk to people honestly. Ha ha...Honesty. On the Eve forums.... Given how much disinformation is pumped out here, the methods I employ are as effective as any for a one-man crusade. Don't get me wrong. I recognize that what I do on these forums is quixotic. No way CCP listens to what I say, in the vast majority of cases, and the cartels ignore me. One man's voice is not going to alter much when so many are used to drown him out. Further, any "reasonable" discourse, very quickly degenerates on these forums. So taking an extreme position is the the eventual result anyway, so might as well start there. CCP is a 140 million dollar company. Through Somergate, it has been proven that there are also people with some serious financial interests surrounding the game and they don't want those interests messed with, and use every method they can to protect those interests. So any attempt to point this out, or heavens, suggest changes, is quickly hammered at by many many folks with fiduciary interests. And lastly, do I talk like this to people in "real life"? Well, since I seldom every meet people as openly crazy or nefarious in real life as I do here on the forums, then no, I can't really equate with what you are asking me. I have no context in real life to create the analogy. Eve attracts sociopaths. They are far more scattered in real life, though I see the carnage created by them every day. In Eve I see the carnage done by its own set of sociopaths every day, but at least I can speak out here, with fewer repercussions. It may not help much, and probably not at all, but my conscience demands it of me. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook.

A long time ago when angry mustache wrote an article about china's eve server we were in a discussion on these forums about that and I did mention how it was a better model. Funnily enough, a lot of Goons argued with me about it. And that how renting would never be what they do. Funny thing that.
