We had 149 people in corp last night, but I've seen it as high as 170. Biggest gang was a 110 member combined OSS/GoonFleet gang. Most hilarious gang was a 75 frigate gang that we divided into 25 and 50, then engaged a S*****rdly BS sniper gang on a gate with the 25. After about 10-15 of us had blown up, the 50 warped through the gate and engaged and much fun was had by all.
the fact that it took 75 frigs to take a bs is sad :(.

large gangs is just how we roll. When there is 200 people in corp online, and someone says they want to go break a gatecamp or patrol, odds are it's gonna be a huge group of ships.
I'm not saying we don't have small patrols go out and do stuff, it's just that things get big in a hurry with that many people concentrated in such a small area. And there are often smaller groups of goons wandering around looking for trouble in Sydicate. a while ago, a single member was flying around testing out an inty and popped something like 6 ships on his own in about a 2 hour timespan.

Please read original post. 75 T1 Fitted Frigs & Cruisers VS 20 T2 Fitted BS/AF (mostly BS) fleet, and we won! It was not 75 on 1 by any stretch of the imagination.

I do agree with the above poster though, if you can maintain ur member base and help them focus their skills into combat then ur going to have a very dangerous corp.
As proven by main (ASCN for instance), cheap frig gangs for roaming PvP is dam fun, add skills to ur current setups and ur going to be controling one of the most dangerous fast attack groups ingame.
What is ur corps stance of PvP? do u have a standing list/website, are u pirates? give info :)
We kick out all inactives around the same time we do recruitment drives by making our members post in a specific forum thread, THose whos names arnt in the thread get removed from the corp. Its actualy pretty bloody easy. The last time this happened was a couple of weeks ago so we can assume that 90-100% of our member count is active players. Which is nescercary for working out our massive logistics.

Nah. People pretty much just use whatever race they want.
As with most of EVE, though, Caldari are somewhat a majority due to their better stats.

As Sesfan said, we very actively engage in patrols of Lower Syndicate, and the number of members we have leads to really good intel - if you've made it to M2- ,chances are we know about you.
However, if you wish to set standing with us, we're more than happy to talk with you. Just convo one of our directors (or convo a member and ask him to point you to one of us) and we'll sit down and carve something out.

A lot of smacks here stupid talking and a lot of fun reading those 'o mighty' goons posts. Try to regeister on somethingawful forum - pay 10$. They cant fight. All you should fear is their big gangs because game mechanics help them to kill ppl with lag. Its easy to kill even old players from goons and sometimes theyre extremly stupid. Make alliance plz then you will feel the pain of war. You can fight with small corps which cant gather even 20ppl in gang and youre so proud of it.

Whats stopping us from feeling the pain of war without an alliance?

A brave first (and only) post from an alt. News flash: We live in Syndicate. We can be attacked by anybody who feels like bringing ships down here.

Well, as a Syndicate resident, and on the receiving end of the Goons... they're actually not that bad to live next to. I have seen zero, and I mean zero smack from them. Not a single thing. They've never run away - although to be fair we've never outnumbered them!
The only thing about the goons that concerns me is that it's difficult to hurt them financially. They live in NPC stations, and they fly (generally) cheap ships. We're not at war with them as such, but they're neutral so we shoot them, and they like to come down to visit us and Black Reign Syndicate. I'd prefer if they brought a bit less numbers, but what are they supposed to do... have a raffle for raiding tickets? :P
Our killboard shows we've killed many more goons than we've suffered deaths, so that might be seen as fantastic results. But bear in mind it also weights a HAC at 80mil and a frigate at 0.2mil so our percentage is low. It's really somewhere in between. We're certainly enjoying it though, and I hope the goons are having fun too, it's what it's all about. And if they continue to fight smack free, and don't camp 24/7 (which they have not been doing) then I'm sure both sides can have some fun for the forseeable future.
My question on goonfleet is this though, what happens to your average goon? Does he play for a month and get bored, are lots on trial accounts? Are they all going to turn into HAC pilots? Will we see a 200 HAC blob? Do the goons stay in goonfleet until they have t2 and leave for elsewhere?

Hey NBSI, welcome to Syndicate. I've enjoyed fighting against you for the past few days for the most part, although I admit I got frustrated last night when a gang of yours kept jumping into Empire and then coming back once we had moved on. Maybe a war dec is in order...have to think about that. Anyway to answer your question we have an extremely good retention rate, although I'm not sure what the exact numbers are. It's an amazing thing to grow up in a "class" in Goonfleet and to see where the other members of your class are in a few months...everybody has branched out and specialized in different things, and they are becoming quite good at what they choose to do. I imagine in another six months you will be seeing HAC blobs.

Now here's the question.
Once you have a corporation that can field 200-300 HACs and BSs...
Who will they kill?
I can see Goonfleet eventually playing the "Nice alliance, we'll kill it" game
Good luck, whoever you choose to blob to death. Just don't shoot me

Out of the people we get signed up on a trial account to play EVE for the first time, about half of them upgrade to a paid account and nearly all of the people who upgrade to a paid account stay in goonfleet. We purge inactive accounts after recruitment drives, and our registration process lets us keep track of any alts people make which join goonfleet. Last I heard, out of our combined 1,300 members in GoonFleet and GoonWaffe, theres about 100 alts.

Speaking from a stricly "Something Awful" point, as I've played in every goon related game group since AO. Goons don't stab people in the back. We've got rules in place in the forum in which ******* over a goon gets you a healthy "permaban" which not only bans you but if wind ever gets out that you have another account on the forums, it's gone too.
Goon alliances in other games have never meant "we'll play along until we're tired of you.". And it's not for lack of power either, goon groups in other games are historically the largest of the large. |

I don't mean "stab in the back." I mean BoB-style, where you pick an alliance you'll spend the month killing, and you go kill it.
I know that goons are honorable--I would expect nothing less

Most allinces that hold 0.0 can field 200-300 hacs and bss its just they dont do it for whatever reason.

Gf may no longer scam over all but when you go back you will see a lot of association with infamous scammers like firstname lastname (also a goon) and remedial and you may find a few things to but I wont get into it all. Again I am also not saying gf is pro scamming or against scamming at this time, I donĘt play enough any more to know these things but historically there has been no such thing as goon honor in eve.
DonĘt worry though I'm sure however 5 day old goons and a few month old players like your self know far more then I do having only played with goons in eve for over 1.5years

Actually, I don't think there are any alliances that have 200-300 in alliance chat at any time except for ASCN, possibly Stain (not sure about that), and maybe BoB. Maybe.
Even FIX has 120-140 at most. And even in the most disciplined of alliances you'd have a lot of trouble getting that kind of fleet ready on short notice.
And most alliance PvPers don't have the money to fund hundreds of HACs, either.

At the risk of getting another I love you post, I have to stick up for goonies. If they couldn't control their guys, then there would be smack in local. There simply isn't any. No offence to .5. but given that they're widely seen as very experienced PvPers, if .5. can't stop the local smack, yet Goons can, then the goons have British Military type precision.
Also I'm drunk so I'm all fuzzy and happy.

Hrm. It's a good question as to actives.
I'd say that from the average drive, about half go to paid accounts. Of those people. . three months later, a third are playing every day, a third are playing a few hours a week, and a third have wandered off to other things. That's balanced, though, by the reactivations we get from people who played eve before with other corps, but never left empire / got bored and then re-activate to try out playing with us in 0.0 space.
In six months, we might have HAC fleets, but we're always going to be a little more casual and a lot more newbie-oriented than the average 0.0 corp or alliance. I think we'll always be stronger on defense than offense for the same reason. And it'll be a long while, if ever, before we can really do PoS wars, due to lack of capital ships.
