I can count the number of alliances that have 200-300 people in alliance chat on one hand.
Actually, I don't think there are any alliances that have 200-300 in alliance chat at any time except for ASCN, possibly Stain (not sure about that), and maybe BoB. Maybe.
Even FIX has 120-140 at most. And even in the most disciplined of alliances you'd have a lot of trouble getting that kind of fleet ready on short notice.
And most alliance PvPers don't have the money to fund hundreds of HACs, either.
i doubt GOON can fund them :|
frigates are all well and spiffy but i dont think theyre gonna be able to hand out cruisers and kit for everyone.. much less bs and hacs ------------------------------------------------ NEWLY ADDED ON 1/19 (though applies to all posts before ;p)
the usual "I don't represent my corp or alliance" and stuffs like that

Our members can, from about day two or three, aford to fly cruisers.

There is a huge difference between 'afford to fly' and 'afford to lose on a regular basis' - especially with regards to HACs and t2 fitted BS.

There are a lot of people talking about how Goonfleet is going to be mega scary in 6 months time, fielding HAC and BS blobs, while bashing down any alliance that stands in our way.
Truth be told, in 6 months we wil be doing exactly what we do now. Fielding frigate frigate and cruiser blobs while blowing stuff up.
We are not a hardcore PvP corp like some others, and a lot of people would rather be mining, ratting, or mission runnning than PvP. This makes us powerfull in a defensive stance, because when we have an incoming fleet the 'carebears' in the corp will all drop what they are doing and get ready to defend. When the call for an offensive op goes out, inevitably only about 20-30% of the corp are interested, and only about half of those are avaliable. This is fine by us, we only ask that people help defend, there is no requirement to go patrol or attack anyone.
Besides, it is realy fun flying a ship worth less than your ammo

Cruisers aren't handed out, they are manufactured and traded on the open market. Frigate handouts are mostly to newbies who can't use tech 2 mining lasers or rat BS spawns. And paying for cruiser insurance + T1 fittings is basically taking down two BS spawns or 20-ish cycles of high-end ore.

In regards to the T2 guns and all that. There are quite a lot of us that can and do currently use T2 ships and weapons. A decent number of us also are in thep rocess of upgrading to T2 large guns. Dont be surprised if you dont start seeing 200km Sniping tempests popping up in our gangs.
We are stronger in defense, very much because of our location. The past few days we have been sending our "foreign legion" out on patrols. This weekend we had a "call to arms" of sorts, and managed to send 80 goons in under an hour from Syndicate to Tribute/Vale of the silent to fight in the north. True, we were ALL in frigates, about 1/4th of us in Intys and AF.
This just goes to show you, we Goons are growing restless. Hostiles that are within our AO need to watch themselves. They might not be around much longer.

When you've got access to crokite and 0.0 rats/missions you go from "being able to afford a mining/ratting cruiser" to "being able to loose a cruiser on a regular basis" within about a day.

Hi, n00b here lol :) Are ya'll still recruiting, and, if so, where's the nearest office to join up in empire space? Currently in Sob. Mostly leaning towards the industrial side of the game, but frig skills are easy to train up so i've got some of those already and they wouldn't detract too much from my other skill training. :)
Thanks!

F-E Gets up to 300+ on Weekends Tribe i think when i was in it had a max of 260 Even FIX has 120-140 at most. And even in the most disciplined of alliances you'd have a lot of trouble getting that kind of fleet ready on short notice.
