With EVE Online: Rubicon 1.1 to be released on Tuesday, January 27th, we will also add many "Little Things" which will improve the daily life and routine of most, if not every pilot in the New Eden Universe. The "Little Things" are light weight features improving mainly the UI with little, yet incredible useful changes that everyone loves!
Read all about these improvements in CCP karkur's latest dev blog Little Things - Rubicon1.1.

You know what's also a little thing? Since the crime watch rework, drone assist does not work against neutral targets in lowsec, but it does work against suspects/pirates. Why are pirates excluded from utilizing the full game like that? |

@karkur
Here's my suggestion for a little thing to address...
Can you investigate why sometimes I can right-click "Trade" to station trade between two of my own characters in the chat window (both are in the same corp), and sometimes I can't? About half the time I don't get a Trade option from A to B, but I will have the Trade option from B to A?
If character A cannot start a trade with B, It seems that if I undock B and redock, that it sometimes fixes it.
Also, A can trade with B and B can trade with A in the station guest list, that panel always gives me a Trade option. It's just the chat windows that seem to be unreliable.
The above most commonly occurs when both characters have freshly logged in and not yet flown anywhere.
btw, awesome job on the other changes for 1.1 |

These are good changes. I have one suggestion - if you enter a full solar system name into the search window, skip the window that pops up to select it from a list, and just select it as destination straight away.
Okay, fine... two suggestions - I'd absolutely love a simple drop-down adding to it to select any solar systems / destinations contained in a folder named "Quick" in bookmarks as I'd imagine a lot of us have tons of bookmarks, but only usually set autopilot to maybe 4 or 5 places 90% of the time.

I can't say I'm a fan of the fitting list taking up more space than it did previously. Is there any way to to make the module icons smaller, or preferably just have the little triangle denotating the meta level and not use the module icons at all.

Just looking at the screenshots, the fitting window is massively better with the icons, even if it does use a little more space. Same thing with the show info page - the coloured bars are so much easier to see at a glance.
I'm sure you're already aware, but the show info attributes would benefit from being in a consistent order between items. Not every attribute will be there, but if it's always the same order, you'd have a better idea of where to look. I can't think of an example, but the text descriptions are not always consistent between items and I'm reasonably sure there's cases of the units being different as well. |

Very happy about the attributes tab and the fitting management window
(The 'view contents' option in ship context menus is useless in station now that we have Unified Inventory. It should be changed to 'view fitting', opening the fitting management window, so you don't have to change ships to see and share the fit) |

I can't stop a wry smile when I think of all the kvetching that goes on about this going wrong and that going wrong when time and again, and just now in this magnificent Dev blog, we are treated to a whole pallet of refinement and beauty that will make our lives so much easier.
I don't know if this will be seen or not, if I could ask 1 thing of CCP Karkur it would be: would it be at all possible get an inventory view that only shows where all my ships are and maybe show where in space they are distributed on the map. It is already possible to see where inventory is stacked. I have stuff all over the place.
I would not want this for all my inventory items, by all means let's keep it practical, but it would be great if I could get a view of where my ships are in space.
Thank you.
Looking forward to this release.

The absence of icons in my saved fits never really seemed like an issue here, but I guess I can see how all the 2s and blues make it instantly apparent when a fit is valuable.
So long as an inexact system spelling can still yield results in the route info panel, I'm sure this new search box will be a big help. It will eliminate the need to type out, spell correctly, autolink, right-click and set destination to see how distant a system is. Pretty cool!
The new shield/armor resist graphics are so fitting-window-like that it's not that much of a leap to envision all 'show info' windows being incorporated into (resizable) fitting windows next with lore text displayed plainly across the bottom. Instead of making the 'show info' window more like the 'fitting' window, I think I'd rather it went in the opposite direction. In the fitting window, you can view/compare all of these stats side by side, slots, rigs, pg, and cpu are all represented visually, even the ship view is more dynamic; whereas in the show info window it's split onto different tabs and these stats are linear. Then the only thing missing would be the ability to plan out and save future fits by dragging modules you don't own into a test fit to compare stats. An in-game version of EFT, basically.
And, I'm not sure if it's just the fact that she got me all excited by typing out the word 'industry,' that these quality of life little changes are always great, or if it's the tribbleesque abundance of smilies, but CCP Karkur is fast-becoming my favorite dev, you guys!!!!

All of the changes sound excellent except for one. The show info window having a bar of damage types. As I am someone that is not very visually orientated, I prefer text over icons. I actually have to hover over most icons to get the text to know what they are, at least until muscle memory kicks in and I automatically click on the third icon from the left to warp and jump through a stargate etc.

I love the cancel. I have wanted that (and been puzzled by its absence) since my second month playing.
I have a related peeve that I'll mention since it's loosely related:
I want to be able to right click on any line in the market interface and copy that price to the clipboard. This would make setting prices much, much easier. (You then can paste it into a sell or buy order, or price change.) vonkeigai.blogspot.com |

Insurance improvements?
How about being able to search out a LIST of ALL currently INSURED ships? station/solar/constellation/region/EVE-wide (assets window or maybe the insurance window it)
ideally showing all that info you have for individual ships -- Including EXPIRATION DATE/Time until Expiration
That List of currently Insured ships would be a lot better than clicking each ship at a station to find out which are insured. |

Market improvement?
Do NOT Expire orders out of Market but leave them tied up and active in Broker system. Orders no longer in Market but just in Broker system alone are invisible to user and cannot be canceled, audited or controlled.
Instead either retain orders in Market until removed from both Broker system and Market at DT -- or cancel orders as they expire to force immediate removal and return remain items to user control.
Currently IMMEDIATE sales orders are false advertising as extra items remain tied up in Broker system once all currently existing in range Buy orders are exhausted. As a minimum annotate the IMMEDIATE sales selection with a prominent footnote as to actual behavior. |

As for people who like clunky and unpolished? They are an embarassment to thinking and technology and have no business even touching a computer.

These are all excellent changes and additions.
Quote:A few releases ago we added the option to highlight in blue your own orders in the "Details" tab in the Market (if you haven't found it yet, check out the "Settings" tab or read my devblog). When you have your orders highlighted, they can be right-clicked to be modified. At the time we added this feature, we figured we should probably not allow you to cancel the orders from there, just to save you from yourself. Based on your requests to have that functionality there, I'm guessing you don't want our help, so we are adding the "Cancel" action to that menu. Just don't come crying to me when you accidentally cancel your valuable market orders! Could we perhaps make the default double-click action for blue orders be to modify them? Currently it attempts to purchase the items from yourself. Let's get rid of that and cause it to launch the modify order dialog - with the price already highlighted/selected, of course.
Thanks a ton for everything! |

The above most commonly occurs when both characters have freshly logged in and not yet flown anywhere.
btw, awesome job on the other changes for 1.1 Yeah I noticed this too - but know why it works sometimes - but not other.. You need to have the tab of guests in station in focus first... Then trade comes up in context menu when you right click. Since I worked that out, I always have the guests tab as the active tab and no problems any more. |

Love the changes! Thanks for the attention to the market. Life as a trader is so much better now.
The show info changes and the grouping of resistances is a masterstroke, and I am forever in your debt.
And thanks for the additional dragging functionality! Since I started Eve nearly 6 years ago, I've been trying to drag everything onto channels etc., and now most things actually work!!
This is brilliant stuff, and please continue in this vein.

Hrm. I prefer to make do with what's available, but I'm afraid I've got a couple concerns with the latest release.
First, salvage drones seem to be 100% borked with regards to being 'area intelligent'. Previously, if you had a container targeted, or nothing at all, and hit "F" to send your salvagers out, they'd just go do their job. Now they sit there and look at you stupidly. Rather a bit of an irritation having to send drones after each and every wreck, even if they're yours.
Second, can the "insure" button on your right click menu of ships in the hangar be removed? Is there a really strong need for it to be there? It seems rather silly to have it there, especially if you should be preemptive on insuring your ship prior to even considering doing anything, let alone undocking.

I've been doing some PvE again, and of course that involves looting, and so something that's bothered me for a while has once again entered the forefront of my mind and I've been meaning to ask about it.
In order to stack all items in an active container/storage area, one must right-click and select "Stack All" from the drop-down menu. Often times, the game stutters, and you actually have to do this twice in order to see all the items stack up. When you have several hundred varied loot items, this becomes quite annoying.
Since two little bits of information (number of items (selected) and their approximate value) were added to container windows, there is now a nice, open space at the bottom of every window, stretching from the bottom left (where the filter options are located) to these info bits. So, what I would like to see, is a little "Stack All" button somewhere in that gulf of emptiness. Possibly a few other useful buttons as well, but most definitely a "Stack All". |

There has always been 1 feature I miss on contracts: Make new contract based on old one, having all options preset as they were on the contract you selected For item exchange that should include: Recipient, contract type, location, item to be traded (if availeble), money to recieve, and especially items to receive in return. But I think it be usefull on other contract types as well. |

The second one: I honestly don't understand what you mean. Nice Work!
I like to see function over form; however improving form that informs and increases effectiveness are the little things and you have corralled and whipped a lot into shape. I'm not crazy about paint jobs better looking asteroids. I want you folks at CCP to use a lot of action verbs in the patch notes and Dev blogs. I like it when I see "it does this better" or "this will eliminate two of five steps to reach the same goal". I am a sad Panda when notes clogged with words like "pretty or eye candy". It seems this time the way you have changed how things look also changes how they work. Again Nice Work, Very Nice Work!
The opportunity to see if this has been addressed has not come up in a long time and it may have been changed.
A while back, a corp member took an "eve break" for health reasons. He is fine now. He had a number of corp buy/sell orders he had initiated and no one could change or cancel them as the market changed, not even the CEO. We bought the sell orders with little loss, but buying the items to sell to the buy orders was pretty expensive by the time we realized we were stuck. All of us are good friends in RL and were long before Eve was a good idea on a cocktail napkin so we are all directors and fully checked for every corp role. But we were stuck. Did we just miss something and suffer from mass stupidity or is this a real problem?
Again, Thanks! |

Hrm. Looks like there's a rather significant problem with the latest patch for Corporations, or mine at any rate.
With the latest patch, 90% of rights, privledges, and other abilities that CEOs and Directors have are revoked, and cannot be used. For example, the CEO cannot access any office hangars, nor access the corporate wallet. I've tested this with both the CEO character, and the Director, and they both are experiencing the same problem.
If any info on this can be provided, or this problem fixed, it would be appreciated, because at the moment, we're dead in the water.
Thanks.

I love UI cleanup. Good work. Some suggestions for the next pass on the Ship Attributes window:
- Currently we have Structure, Armor, and then Shield, in that order. That is the exact opposite of how ship HP is displayed everywhere else in the game. Shield, Armor, Structure would be more consistent.
- Currently we have Structure Hitpoints, Armor Hitpoints, and then Shield Capacity. Shield Hitpoints would be more consistent and avoid confusion with Capacitor.
- Capacity could be renamed Cargohold to avoid confusion with Capacitor.
- Inertia Modifier and Mass can be grouped with Max Velocity and Ship Warp Speed, and the group name can be Navigation instead of Propulsion. This is more consistent with the fitting window.
- Drones can get their own section. Then we only have two orphans at the top, Volume and Cargohold. Much less clutter up there.

Dear CCP karkur,
thank you for all the little things in this game
Is it possible to ask for another ?
I would like to see how much my ship fitting costs, before I fly into space.
At the moment we can see I believe a market average for modules etc when they or in a container or in the station item tab.
Could this market average for modules/rigs/ammo/drones be cumulated in one figure in the fittings window box plus the ship it self ?
