Fantastic
I'm not really impressed with the average responses in this thread however, claiming your poor to apeal to the mass's isn't cool mkay?
Vets = Stinky rich (isk, assets, gaming experience), and why shouldn't they, The've had 3-4 years to acheive goals and the skill points to back them up, unless your a Casual gamers with only a an hour or two a week to play why would you boast about your lack of accomplished goals?

Lol i will have been playing for 3 years by the end of this coming july and i have 1 battleship and about 100 mill worth of assets...the most isk i have ever had was 318 mill, (my current total) because i got bored and finally did a little NPCing. I know many "veteran" players with a similar situation as me.

Making serious ISK in EVE happens in 2 ways:
1) You are dedicated to it, with a good head for business, determination and perseverance. You run trade routes, you buy T1 BPOs, you manufacture, you play the market, you invest wisely. It becomes the game for you. Dark Shikari is a good example of this type of player. Relatively new and yet very, very rich. Being bailed out by GMs when scammed helps ofc
2) You get lucky and win a T2 ship BPO. Purely random and instantly rich forever. Great system CCP.
Yeah, I'm bitter about it, it's the thing I hate most about EVE, the favouritism by the GMs towards certain players and the arbitrary, random BPO lottery. So sue me.

I've always given all my ISK away to newer players or to whatever corp I belonged to. I just gave 10 of my 16 mill ISK to an old buddy who just reactivated so he could get a Proph. Sure I can make that back quickly, but I don't even have a battleship, I prefer T1 cruisers and frigs. I have my Thorax and my Incursus, and that is really all I need or want. My corp pitched in to get me a Covetor because I was an embarassment to them, showing up to the occassional mining op in a Thorax.... This toon has been in the game for about two and a half years now I think.

Since UK release Date.
I have
Dread Carrier Loads of BS/HAC/RECON/AF etc etc About 1 bill in isk and a further 1 in Assets on sale.
KIA corp also owns a load of POS, every tech 1 BPO, loads of Assets inc A dread and a Carrier.
Why do I tell you this...
Because we have never had a Tech 2 BPO, neve had an easy way to make isk, we do it all the hard way.
I have got 40 mill SP and about 300k of those is industry or money making related, but I can make 2 bill a week with ease, and the corp can turn 3 or 4 times that if I can get the little nuggers to focus ;)
There is no reason in this game to not have the isk for things you want, and if you find your current Corp isnt offering you those things, then come look KIA up in game and we will see what we can do.

Just a few bits of junk and the ability to make isk from mining so not all bad

*gets out his big fat roll of 100's*
I'm rich :D Got a total of 1 mil in my mains account, with 1 mil in the rest, cash ftw :D Assets is a different story, but then again I don't mind mining for a bit so I can buy the latest most expensive stuf to go PVP in. Also capital ship skills are expensive :(
But not the projects I can think of a very few and far between and I cant really be bothered doing that much effort. So it pretty much comes down to keeping myself in a PVP ship and having a few backups. ISK isn't going up, nor down except when I die. On the other hand most ive had is about 4 bil, but that didn't last long.
But unless im wrong most vets should have figured out how to make a lot of isk if they need to, yet they just cant be bothered to go do it. Others like people in communist corps will never really have any assets and always be skint, but the assets of the corp should be fairly high.

Is it me, or is this turning into a "look at what i've got" thread. Also, Mr pirate will be clocking who has what and writing it down in his "got to ransom" list........
I have less than 2 mill in isk, a rifter and a hoarder.... who needs anything else?

Edited by: Plutoinum on 23/06/2006 10:05:03 Some vets are rich. The ones, who invested a lot of effort to increase their wealth or had a lucky hand with the BPO lottery.
If I currently look at my corp, their are some people, who can fly a lot of stuff by their skills, but not by their wallets e.g. they usually don't fly hacs anymore, since they are so expensive.
Personally I've got only 250mil isk at the moment. 3 days ago I was down to zero and I don't have much in assets.
I can write down an asset list of my 4 chars really quick: A tempest, raven, fenrir, a few elite frigs, 2 other unfitted tier-1 battleships, 2 cyclones, a bunch of cruisers, frigs and indis, a covetor, a skiff, a barrage m BPO, a pile of cheap t1 bpos, a pile of minerals and some inexpensive loot. That's really all.
P.S.: I'm not really a vet, but I don't see that it would make any difference except that I would MAYBE have another t2 bpo by now. The possibilties to make isk don't depend much on skills. Some means don't need skills at all.

For the last two years, ive always had 1-150 mill and a few ships knocking about. For me, eve isnt all about money, far from it. I now have alot of money which i am spanking.... Although, i can see how easy it could be to make money if you put your mind to it. Its just not for me.
I would rather be in a tristian fighting people with 0.00 isk in my bank, than running missions with 1000 zillion isk.

My alt, whose name I have sworn to protect, is playing for a bit longer than three months and has a net worth of about 240 million by now (80 million in the bank and the rest could be made available by some insurance fraud on the raven and ferox and such).
My alt is currently doing missions but has done everything (mining, trading, ratting) except active PvP. He thinks he is prolly saving up for a freighter.

Three year vet...current cash 257 million. another 250-270 million in ships. about 95 BPO's and BPC's and about 300 million in mods, minerals, and exotic dancing girls...
I dont get to play as often as I want...and cant participate in fleet actions due to crappy computer.
But can make between 10-15 million a week sitting in a safe station in emmpire.

14mill in isk is all I have left, most I have ever had is 157mill and I have being playing for 2 and a half years.
Sadly though this is mainly due to me being able to play less and less.

Been playing about what... 1.5 years?
got a few bil, learned that "Self control" was the best profit maker. I buy cheap t1 where i can, and hold off and t2 when possible.
Also got cash from pirating, ratting officer spawns, and t2 reselling.
I think being a vet is being a person who knows all the loops and corners of the game (or most of them). Not the size of your wallet.

Vicarrah I agree with you to a point. Seeing wallet screenshots with 60b isk in them makes me wonder. Knowing how a T2 BPO can make someone rich is annoying (and allow them to do other things to make more - it takes money to make money). Yet I'm not really annoyed at others wealth because it doesn't affect me at all. As I RP a "simple priest" in Eve I'm also a very simple gamer in RL.
I've been around four years now since beta and I invested early in BP's thinking it was my way to wealth (industry). Sadly with BPC's and allowing everyone to build stuff being a T1 industrialist is kind of a washout. I've amassed over 200 BPO's worth about 7b isk and I'm lucky to get anything off them. By contrast my two T2 small laser BPO's from the agent lottery (grumble grumble lottery) do give me some income but making them is alot of work when I'm not online much some weeks.
Plenty of ships including a frieghter, navy apoc and some rare faction ships but I fly mostly T1 cruisers into battle. I make my own mods and those for PIE and usually don't charge anything for them. Cash maybe 2b isk right now and another 1.5b in minerals plus ships and an inventory of goods that is well stocked. Some might think thats "rich" yet when I see 60b in a personal wallet I feel like the guy on the corner with the "will mine veldspar for food" sign.
Wealth is really subjective its what you do with it thats important. Do you horde it and sit in a room counting it like a greedy meiser or do you do good things with it? One of my favorite things to do is sit with a newbie alt in a new player station with a couple hundred skillbooks (all the learning skills) and T1 frigates and just hand them out. Sitting in ROOKIE HELP I see who is a noob and needs help. I pick the decent folks and hand it out while directing them to the tutorials players have put up for them. Give them a good start.
I'd say being rich in friends is a much greater asset. Money today comes pretty easily yet its the friendships I value most. Sure toys are nice and its nice to lose a ship and have spares but in the end few people play Eve to be Ebenezar Scrouge. We're all here because of the great people.
