it is a frikign railgun boat olrady 50%+ of the battle ships are caldari now we gona have the gunnery people fly the caldari battle ship to like the gallante but also other races.

If you are saying that you dont' want a full Gunnery use battleship, then I don't think too many will agree with you. We already have the Raven for those who want missles, and this new one will be for gunnery. sounds logical to me.
demand is greater then supply = high price.
supply is greater then demand = low price.

There are people who use railguns. Caldari people who train railguns. Like me. i have over 1 million gunnery skillpoints. and a measly 45k missle skillpoints. I like rails. I liek it that this new battleship will be a rail platform.

Yeah same here... i have about twice the SP in gun skills than missile skills... tho i stoped training guns for a while so missile SP can catch up :P

Caldari, believe it or not, have ships that aren't missile based. Moa, Ferox (though this can be used with missiles too), Merlin I guess, and a few others. The only class in which they are missing a ship that uses guns is the BS class, so it makes sense that there would be a ship here that is designed to use guns.

Nope, no one is forcing you to use the Tier 3 BSes.
EDIT: Btw, this is like gallente with rails and drones. Some people like using drones only while others like using rails only.

I think we should remove the Merlin, Harpy, Moa and Eagle from the game. They are clearly railgun-focused which is against Caldari tradition. Kindly replace the Merlin with the Kestrel B, the Harpy with the Kestrel C, the Moa with the Caracal B and the Eagle with the Cerberus B.
It it utterly unfair that any player should have to train more than 10 skills to use any ship at all (and that ship's intended weaponry) belonging to their own race.

Sweet, the 1.5 million skill points I train early in my career will finaly pay off.

Besides I have all my missle skills train to at least level 4 and most at level 5. All the advance skills are curently at level 4.

Most of ppl not understand about the wiz117 whine, it's not again caldari only can be a missile race.
it's just about Plz make the game more balanced so u can see several different BS instead than caldari caldari caldari caldari ships everywhere.
Hard to do when nearly all newplayers start as caldari, and other player still show missiles as the OMFGBBQDMG for easey-cheesey skills

We need a gunboat battleship. For starters it'll stop people going Kestrel, Caracal, Ferox with missiles, Raven, and start all the caldari kidz training rails and using that Ferox like it was supposed to be used. Not to mention we'll get a proper missileboat BC, which is also good because I have about the same skills in both missiles and gunnery.

i used rails as primary weapons up until I was able to use a raven, but when I used a ferox, I prefered rails as primary (yayaya, it is odd, but it was fun)

i dont mind gettin a railboat,
but tier3 sounds itll b better then tier2, and thatll make some serious headache and i hope those ships will fill a niche, but wont b a must.

I think the Caldari one will spread Caldari pilots out a little bit - no longer will you see every Caldari pilot going missiles missiles missiles but you might see some beginning to massively specialise in railguns.
The problem with creating Caldari ships in ship sizes that only have one or two (battlecruiser and BS, basically) is how do you decide? With the rest of the races that have one or two specialisations it's easier, but Caldari have three - we're known as ECM specialists, missile fiends and railgun lovers. How the hell do you create a ship that does all three without just having an 8/8/8 layout and some silly bonuses? (Ahem, where's my Jove battleship then? :D)
EDIT: Sidraket - the stats for the new ships are in the latest XML data export which is posted...uh, somewhere. They're not finalised by any means but are believed to be as close as possible to the final ship designs.

Back in the day, the scorpion had railgun bonuses... Still, I have a modest 3.6m in gunnery and 2.2m in missiles and I have to say the only ship class I favor missiles over railguns in is battleships. I love railguns, I trained guns over missiles a long time ago, I've been waiting for a gunboat for a LONG time (even when the scorp had railgun bonuses it was still horrilby weak just because it has 6 highs with only a max of 4 of each weapon slots).
So I can't wait for it, and if it follows the gunboat tradition it will most likely have 5% resist bonus / level and 10% optimal range, this is debatable though because with spike you'd get insane range. There's no doubt it will have a superior tank, though those sneaky devs might fix it so you get awesome guns or an awesome tank, but not both (ala not quite enough grid hehe). Still, caldari battleship 5 ftw
