my my my... forget to take our medication this morning did we?
a daredevil is just a multimillion-isk frigate [and an average one at that] and a gila is a slightly crippled faction cruiser [omg a black moa!]
and for some inexplicible reason CCP have deigned to make all faction items non-searchable/sellable on the open market, which means we have to use that Contracts rubbish to get faction/officer/deadspace gear

Jovians are the perfect solution to one of the biggest problems with Eve: Sucky PVE. World of Warcraft, for example, has incredibly complex, fun, and interesting PVE. Eve does not. Solution? Jovians.
1. Open up Jovian space through some kind of storyline. Renegade Jovian faction built a gate. Civil war. Somebody made the long flight over and put a gate there. Whatever.
2. Give storyline reason why someone would want to pwn on Jovians. You could do "Jovians have X bad trait, everyone wants to fight them for righteousness," or you could do "Amarr and Caldari want to fight Jovians, but Minmatar and Gallente want to fight the bad Jovian factions," or you could do "Everybody wants the Jovian technology, even the super liberal Gallente are willing to fight Jovians for it" or you could do "No Empire faction is at war with Jovians, but certain non-political groups are willing to hire and reward capsuleers for fighting them," etc., etc. Tons of ways to write storyline.
3. Create complex, EXCITING, interesting, fleet-based PVE content. Imagine: You and 20 of your alliance buddies form a fleet to fight a Jovian deadspace scout force, consisting of 2 Jovian frigates and a cruiser. Imagine: You and 50 alliance buddies get in your dreads and battleships to assault a Jovian POS and its defense force.
4. ???
5. Win.
Seriously, Eve will finally break into the American MMO market. Even the lack of easymode will no longer deter us from playing Eve anymore. PVE content! What a concept!
Loot: Obviously it can't be so ridiculously good that it destroys the whole player-initiated, player-driven concept to the Eve universe, so here's a solution: Have this PVE content drop items that must be analyzed or researched or whatever to create BPCs of Jovian technology. Voila, you get both reward for PVE and another element to help the player-run economy.
Long run: Maybe one day, regular people figure out how to evolve into Jovians from some kind of storyline element. Or Jovians can still disappear into the void and leave behind crap to investigate. The point is, this doesn't remove the other possibilities for plans to incorporate Jovians into the universe.

'Becoming' a Jovian seems humourous. The Jovians are a race, not a club.
'Evolve' is aso a funny term to be using in such a context.

For some reason I was thinking that they would eventually allow players to evolve into Jovians. Maybe if they maxed all the possible skills or something.
I think I read that somewhere, but it's equally possible that I pulled it out of my rear.
I only know of two Jovians: TomB and Valar
Yeah i remember reading that aswell. But since i can think of at least one char with 150mil sp's..i can't even imagine how long it will be till they allow it

I take a screenshot of a jove ship. I almost had no time and only shows a part of it. But was a Jove ship, so they, in fact exist. Was taken in Osmeden. Undock & warp so quick.....

The real reason here are no Jove is they are losing to there enemy and the numbers are dwindling. Not that they will be wiped out they still have a use as a way to keep the other empires in check. Passive shield tanking guide click here |

The easiest way is maybe have the Jove forced into contact again to preserve their existence by abducting other races for their "clean" DNA. Since the Jove kinda screwed themselves and the other races will still have remnants of original earthling DNA. This could lead into a complex PvE quest as you have to investigate the disappearance of agents or someone else leading you to make first contact. (through the use of railguns)
Oh yeah first post woo yay ect.

I dont see how the SWG Jedi problem applies to a player population that consists entirely of pod pilots. There are no NPC pod pilots. All pod pilots could simply be introduced to the aim of evolving into more specialised faction/jove hybrids, could they not? This would not make your starting form completely irrelevant, and we modify ourselves in all sorts of ways anyway (plugging our brains into computers, editing our abilities, implants). From a story perspective, pod pilots merely become more complicated.
Unlike Star Wars, we dont have a set story to adhere to, we are writing it, etc

A Cookie-class Jovian noob frigate. It's about as powerful as a Rifter or Punisher. ____________________________________ Caldari by birth, Minmatar by citizenship.
