If that happens, you can either run the installer from a command prompt and pass the /SKIPDOTNET command line parameter, or just download the binaries ZIP instead of the installer.

Edited by: Bren Kasir on 07/05/2006 14:44:09 Heya,
Has anyone else had a problem where it simply won't update on start? it tries and just fails and as a result i'm stuck with the cached version which is now a day or two out of date :(
Any known ways to fix this? multiple restarts and connection attempts seem to not have made a difference.

Um ok im sure i ****** up here. I installed this a few days thought it was neat etc and that was that. Today while looking thru some folders i see it was installed to the program files folder rather then program files/evemon or something. I choose uninstall because im using char manager tbh and then a big panic as it has just deleted my eve instalation, half of fraps including all my footage and who knows what the **** else. thankgod this was on a storage drive and not my main drive because the installer is ****** up.
Again this thing just deleted a whole lot of **** it shouldnt have touched.
Someone gimmie a undo file deltetion program please asap :/.

Something else must have done that. The only thing the uninstall script does is delete the directory EVEMon was installed into, the start menu entries, and its registry settings.
edit: You mentioned it was installed in Program Files, not Program Files/EVEMon... ooo yeah, that's a bad place for it to be. I'm not sure why you'd install it right into the root program files directory, but I'll put in some failsafes to prevent something like that from happening again.

Thats the point. It was installed to D:/Program Files (thankfully a seperate drive where i just keep a second eve install, fraps, char manager and winamp. It was in the program files folder not program files/eve mon, when it uninstalled it took most of everything else there with it.
What it was doing there im not sure, not feeling up to checking where it installs by default but whatever the case it needs to be changed to only touch its own files.

This beats ECM by leaps and bounds. It's small, bloat free, clean and the item DB is just amazing. Huge props.

I can't get it to accept my login details, dunno why it won't work. It says "login details could not be verified, please try again" yet my details are correct. Any tips? And no, it's not a router/firewall issue, I can guarantee that much.

If you go to "C:\Program Files\EVEMon\Debugging Tools", there's a shortcut in there labelled "EVEMon (with network logging)". Start EVEMon using that shortcut and try to login while the log is running, then shutdown EVEMon and you can either look over the log file yourself, or email it to me and I can try to figure out what's wrong.

Edited by: Sigos on 07/05/2006 18:34:10 Idea: How about an option to merge plans.
I just made a few sets of plans in order to choose a couple to use. I found two that would go well together and realized a few things. There is a little overlap between the plans, meaning that the training time is shorter than the sum of their individual times. The added training time might make it economical to add in another level of a training skill at the beginning. I can sort the skills more easily if I have both merged.
Also, it might be nice to display the rank of a skill on its info screen instead of having to look at the queue.

Error 4101 means another copy of the .NET Framework installer is already running. Sounds like something weird is going on there. Try to download and install it manually.

Excellent program. However, I seem to be having a problem after updating to the latest version (it worked yesterday...), where it keeps insisting that it "Could not log in to EVE Online with that username/password."
I've tried typing and retyping it in many times, with the same answer (and I can log into the game, as well as these forums with the same username and password.) I stopped using ECM a while ago, as it had this same problem...
Is this a bug, or do programs like this just not like my password?

Check a few posts up, there are instructions for starting EVEMon with network logging enabled. You can look over the log to see exactly what's going wrong, or set the log to not include your password and stuff and you can email the log to me and I can look it over.

I actually tried that, and found it logged in with no problems (as in, the log showed it starting to grab some webpage somewhere... saw a bunch of HTML code or something.) Just tried it again, and it logged in with no issues whatsoever.
Maybe it's just a time of day thing Either way, it's an awesome program.

Edited by: Cringeley on 08/05/2006 12:20:26 I also had a .net related problem. The .net framework install during EveMon install failed, preventing installation. Installing with /skipdotnet worked but resulted in a non-functional install. Is there somewhere you can point me to to manually install the required framework?
Edit - I didn't notice the manual install link you posted above. That didn't work because I'm on 64-bit Windows. Am I screwed?
