Does manually uninstalling through Add/Remove Programs prompt for the CDs as well? :(

Some sort of "stacking" in the plan window would be nice, so instead of listing training of skill level 1-5 on 5 lines, it would be just 1 line.
Being able to see the description of the skill in the plan window would be handy as well.
When adding a skill to planner from ship/item browser it would be handy to be able to add the level to train it for.

Because it requires the .NET Framework 2.0. If you only have 1.1 installed, it needs to install the update. If you don't have the required framework level installed, EVEMon will not be able to run.

I got Evemon yesterday, and installed it on my PC at work. Fantastic program!
Downloaded it home and installed it. Works like a charm! This was the day before yesterday.
Today it suddenly refuses to connect. My char doesn't update now. It's always the "Cached" version that I'm seeing. I also tried re-entering the login info. I also tried adding a new char on a different account. Still refuses to connect. All other internet programs work fine, including Eve.
Any ideas?

Open the sourcecode and figure out what happens to your information as the program logs in.

Im having major problems with this program. I'm using it to track 6 different accounts, mine and all my friends that I trust, and It starts normally, gets the character info like normal, and then, after a few hours, it stops, and wont retreive the information from the eve website at all, and just uses cache.
I'm behind a router, would this be a problem, bearing in mind that it loads FINE as soon as I startup my machine?
This is a fantastic program, but many people seem to have had this exact bug, and have probably sent you the debug data. Any word on what the solution is, or a patch? -- Interseted in skills? Necessary Skills

It works perfectly for me, i only have one issue.
The cpu usage of the software. It uses 18-25% of cpu even when idling, wich again causes my eve client to stop up for fraction of a second, every 2-3 sec.
Maybe you should look into the dynamic components, and see if generating them real time causes this increased cpu usage. Like the update indicator, and constant updates of skillpoints , and countdown to completion. ---------------------- I got pwnt by the giggling admiral BiH 4tw |

While I'm not six I can safely say that any machine I've used evemon on (three) don't have this issue at all. CPU usage with IRC, Evemon, Winamp and various other crap never exceeds 5%.

I had the same question, so I looked at the source, and the program does nothing of the sort. You can look yourself or you can take my word for it. That's the beauty of open source - I looked to make sure that nothing nefarious was going on, and noticed that eve passwords were being stored plaintext, so I added encryption... and then Six cleaned up the mess I made, so now everyone has encryption ------ It's time for some F*@&*#g soup. -- Syfe |

Yep tried that it didnt work.
But after a lot of poking around in the reg deleting alot of stuff scattered around my HD and reinstalling a fair few things. I've finally got .NET 1.1 & 2.0 installed (and buggered my Office installation )

Can you add the ability to specify the port for the smtp connection? My server uses 3535 instead of 80.
Otherwise... great program. ISK will come shortly. |

Delete C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\Application Data\EVEMon -- that's where all your EVEMon settings are stored.
Originally by: Quirinus Aristaeus ok i installed the update, now when i start the program its asking me to logon with my eve account, no offense, but how do i know that my account and pw wont be sent to you, or someone not eve online related?
That's why the source code for EVEMon is open and available to everyone. Even if you don't trust me personally, you can look at the code yourself to verify it's not doing anything unsafe. If you can't read source code, there are many other sets of eyes who have looked over the source too, and certainly someone would say something if they saw anything underhanded. :)
If that's not enough, you can also use a personal firewall to block the program so it can only connect to eve-online.com.
If you prefer, you can have it use a saved character XML file that you can grab off the EVE-O website yourself. Just change the "Add Character Using" dropdown to "Saved Character XML" instead of "EVE Online Login". You won't have live updates to your currently training skill or anything, though.
Originally by: ZelRox The cpu usage of the software. It uses 18-25% of cpu even when idling, wich again causes my eve client to stop up for fraction of a second, every 2-3 sec.
Woah, it shouldn't be using that much CPU, even with 5 characters. I'll do a once-over the main window and see where there's room for perf improvement.
Originally by: AtoningUnifex Proxy information is in internet/options. Using WinXP SP2.
(Currently using ECM/EMS - have to enter proxy info inc username & password to get those to work).
Better support for proxy authentication is coming soon.

Truly fantastic work Six Anari.
I'm currently on the 14-day trial so still getting my head around the games mechanics. But saw the XML data we can get, then did a search and found your application.
Wow it just opens up the skill training to me as a NewBie.
One thing I'd like to see/suggest is a print function. Or maybe I'm missing something but I need to remember all the skills I have to buy and thus write them down. Now if I could print them I could use that while in game so I can purchase the right skills and such, and in order.
Once again fantastic application. If I continue with the game I'll be sure to donate, in and out of game. This type of free work should be rewarded.

Load your plan and click the button "copy for forum", you can then paste it to a text file and then print it from there. :)

Hi Six!
I posted earlier about EVEMon stop working. I thought I had it licked, but the issue is still there.
When I install EVEMon and add my char, all works great! Then after I switch my PC off and back on it refuses to connect and I stay in "Cached" state.
I deleted the EVEMon Directory under Documents and Settings. When I restarted the app it asked me for my login info again, as it does during a clean install, but for the life of me I can't get it to connect anymore!
Any advice/suggestions please! I'm running XP SP2 Vanilla. No 3rd party firewalls or anything. I did try disabling the XP Firewall, no change. My Eve client logs on normally.
The bit of info I can give you regarding my login name and password is that my login name is only letters, mixed upper and lowercase. And my password is numbers only.
Lil' help please! I gotta get this great tool running! ///End

It hasn't connected for me for about a week now also. Nothing about my setup has changed. It's a real pain to use the XML and keep downloading it from my character stats. I tried to write a GETHTTP batch file to grab my XML for me, but the page is generated on the fly so doesn't work. Anything I can try to get this working? I'm a newbie so this app is a godsend. Is there some kind of port-forwarding that would help for my fireless router? I think it just uses 80 so I don't think so. _____________________________________________________________________ "Tetsuo is our friend. I got my EVEMon to connect again!
I havn't tried it again to ensure repeatability.
I delete the EVEMon SETTINGS directory. It's in your Documents and Settings, Application Data directory.
Then I simply restart my PC, and run EVEMon first, before I open EVE. Re-load my char from scratch, and then load my plan. ///End

Edited by: Vishnej on 14/05/2006 16:53:37 Please use less monopoly fascism in your no doubt excellent product.
I'm being asked to install .NET 2.0 for this.
To install .NET 2.0 on my win2k pro system, I have to install "Windows installer 3.0".
To even download "Windows installer 3.0", I have to install "Windows Genuine Advantage," to verify that I'm not a criminal. I expect when I get that down, I'll have to upload DNA and palmprints to install it. I'm also afraid that by doing this, I'll trigger some sort of self destruct mechanism, as I've kept this copy of win2k pro for the last 3 PCs.
I dislike this, and suspect the only reason it needs .net is that you happened to have bought Visual Studio recently. Is there really any need for all this crap, have there been genuine programming advancements that allow you to do things you couldn't do before without Microsoft keeping tabs on me?
Furthermore, I'm being told that the install is 150megs in the install script. Why?
