Why would anyone answer such an obvious false dichotomy? more to the point, why dose he keep trying it?
Well that's easy.
Lack of an actual argument. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

Yarda Black wrote:I'll take Divine's bait and give a serious reply. Already made one on atleast 4 other threads about AFK cloaking... but... I got some time so here goes:
I have a problem with AFK cloaking. Not because of the cloak thing, but because of the AFK thing. You may consider CODE's philosophy of AFK mining. I feel that way about AFK cloaking. If you want to spend your entire day watching, thats fine. If you enjoy just sitting there, thats fine. If you laugh when carebears dockup because of it, thats fine.
BUT
If you're dumb enuff to go AFK, I want you to lose your ship.
So what I want is an activation cycle on a cloak. Not a very short one. I mean, if you decloak while your bomber lands on grid, throwing a bomb will be... challenging. I want a cycle that enables current gameplay to remain viable. Information warfare, spying, having eyes, scouts etc. All good. So lets say 5 min. I want a cycle that rids me of guys that slam in a cloaky and go to work for 8 hours. If you AFK, you die. Nothing personal.
Now like I said; this is not an original reply. But... still.
I agree with this, AFK cloaking is fine, you eventually learn who cloaks at what times and then you just do stuff even if they're out and sitting there, but a long term timer would be nice. Also having a cloak that doesn't cloak is pointless, you would just bump them to turn it off, use FoF missiles or smartbomb them to death. |

Yes, within EvE
Do you mean all of the above?[/quote wrote:
Within EVE is my answer. If you feel what you've listed is a risk within eve, then yes, that's what I mean.
No one in EvE is without all those risks at any time.
In terms of losing your ship, then yes, if you are doing it right, you can be completely risk-free
And thats not including AFK cloaking
Whether I believe you should be...

Again, that's an easy one.
He's not very imaginative. All he can do is regurgitate the highsec carebear talking points. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

Alright then, so according to you, no one undocked should ever be truly free of risk? Proof of lying in thread.

I beleive I already answered that its not only entirely possible to be undocked and free of risk, I believe that that is an intended capability in the game to be undocked and free of risk, if you know what you are doing *** Vote MTU For CSM *** ***Free The Jita 1*** "They feel the need to cover their ears and eyes in horror at your very presence." - Pontianak Sythaeryn "Despite others being missing, at least Ramona is back." - Scipio Artelius |

Quote:22. Post constructively.
Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve EVE Online provided that it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All users are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding EVE Online and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. Users are also reminded that posting with a lack of content also constitutes non-constructive posting.
16. Redundant and re-posted threads will be locked.
As a courtesy to other forum users, please search to see if there is a thread already open on the topic you wish to discuss. If so, please place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forums needlessly, causing good feedback and ideas to be lost. Please keep discussions regarding a topic to a single thread.
5. Trolling is prohibited.
Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote. Please don't make redundant threads. Thank you.
