DoS is oldschool. DDoS is newer. the thing that most people don't realize, is that DDoS is a blanket term for a type of attack. the actual mechanics of the attack evolve constantly whenever an amplification exploit is discovered.

CCP should read it too, it has some clues on how to prevent most of them
