This isn't a raffle, buddy . It's in their best interest to pick the people with the best qualifications. That and snazzy cv's. I hate my job and love playing eve, but there's no way I'm leaving California for Reykjavik. ----------------- "Oh, he's very popular Ed. It'd be funny if they actually were just picking names out of a hat ^^;. But yeah, they're probably after the best people for the job. I've lost track of the number of companies that won't even acknowledge my emails when I send them my CV, didn't really expect to add Eve to the list.
Ah well, good luck to anyone who's applying. I'll go mail my cv to every company I can find and see if I can get a job .

Tech 2 lottery could have been the test bed for the "GM Employment Lottery", fortunately I have "Advanced Employment Agents" skill up to level 5, so I should be ok. __________________________________

You donÆt have to write a 5000 word essay. I believe Kieron said that to act as a joking point.
Yes but I could use the brownie points.

breaking trust has real consequences in the real world, not in eve. Im entrusted to provide accurate valuations for hundreds of millions of savings for many people, my company administers. If I break that trust through imcompetence, I lose my job and my income (when they realise Im crap). If I try to steal all the money from those various funds, I become an outlaw (eventually when the auditors would see the missing cash) and then my own freedoms are curbed forever more.
These consequences are very real, if i steal 700 billion isk from people in eve, the worst i would have to look forward to is the odd war dec (oh noes) so here are very few reasons why i shouldnt :)
the 'qualities' we show ingame are not a reflection on real life, people behave very differently in the two realms. So to judge someone on how they are ingame is no measure of how they are outside.

How you act in game should in no way reflect how you are as a person. I would never dreams of waiting on the inside of say the local cinema with a group of friends, waiting for someone with a full wallet then jumping him and running off. I would do that in a heartbeat in eve :) __________________________________

HEY KIERON ~ (others too),
With so many people in the NA time zones it would seem wise to have some GM/Interns in NA. Other the other side of the coin, it will allow for a different point of view to be added to the mix as well for future admonitions to the life style (EvE is not just a game - we live and breath it - even when not in front of a system (hence writing from work)).
CV to be submitted this weekend - wife thinks I am nuts, the podlings are all for it. Over 8 years with Fortune 500 companies from end-users to CEO's they all were 'taken care of' Really though - this has nothing against EU or anyone else for that matter - I am just thinking that another group should be aloud into the fold.
My remarks are mine own ~ REMEMBER To Wear Foil HAT Regards, BogardÖ

It has been stated that you 'only' need a working permit quickly. The GMs work in shifts 23/7 in Reykjavik. Some of the requirements can be reduced if you got good reasons. --*=*=*--

Ah man I'm really interested in all this. Would be a very welcome change from my very boring and uneventful life and maybe get me into my dreamjob of being a gamedeveloper.
I meet all the requirements but i'd really like to finish this last year of uni(professional bachelor in applied informatics): if you would have asked next year IÆd be right there at your doorstep CCP.

I think interviews should be broadcast on EVETV, with a panel of CCP experts commenting live. Call it EVE Idol, or something - have them dancing and singing for a job. Now that would be entertaining.

You have got to be joking! Just watching other people do that kind of thing is bad enough for me.
Although, put that a position where you have to do it for the job, I may be inclined to do it anyway. Emm?"Cant touch this" den der der dum, der dum der dum KILLING THE BUG'S, BEFORE THEY KILL YOU Un-nerfing you sig is bad mmmmkay - Xorus |

Hello Guys,
I applied for an internship position a few months back, I got the job and Im currently sitting in the office enjoying myself. So far my experiences have been nothing but good and although I miss people back 'home' there are more than enough crazy/nice people here. The jobs good, the food is good (although im one of these picky ppl who dont like cheese etc ) and the internship pay will generally see you get by quite well as long as you dont eat out too often and cut back on the beer.
As for my qualifications, some of you might remember me from STAR I spent over 3years with STAR and 3 years as a player (not including playing in the beta).
If you have a good sense of humour, your hard working and you have a few years in eve then you will enjoy it here and you will get to see what eves like behind the scenes.
But Apply...I need people to pick on

Hi there Faolchu,
IÆm glad to see some of the ISD bunch get a chance at ôstardomö, IÆm also glad to see that youÆre coping well.
If you read this post anytime soon, I was just wondering what it is like out there to live. I know the people are amazing and the job is great, but what I would like to know is, what is it really like to live out there? For example, weather, food, language barriers and that kind of thing.
I mean, this is a once in a life time chance and anyone silly enough to pass this up (if they meet the requirements) would be making a very big mistake, but thatÆs just my view.
I was just hoping these could be answered, by anyone really who lives in Iceland.
Thanks again.

In addition to those questions I would like to ask about the transport arrangements for interns. Is it required for them to hold a full driving license or is there adequate public transport for general getting to/from work/pub, or is there hidden option 3 (CCP buses? Walking distance to accomodation?). __________________________________

Hi,
At the moment the weather is fine bit windy and slightly chilly at the times but I hear it gets worse in the winter with an avg temp of about 0. The food is good but expensive if you eat out, if you buy and cook yourself you'll be fine...or you can eat at CCP and save your pennies. The language barrier well there isnt one really...people will talk to you in icelandic and if you dont understand they'll switch to english and you'll find everyone talks good english. But there are icelandic language courses starting soon .
As for travel arrangements its really easy to get about although a little confusing at times, I live about a 20 minute walk from the CCP offices and there are plenty of buses about. And its definantly not required for interns to hold driving licenses...I cant drive and Im here .
But on the whole theres nothing to really worry about when it comes to living over here...well I havent come across anything just yet. So apply and see what happens .
