well, the ferox is more of a railsniper.
....however I agree that the drake will, as all other tier2 BC's, be pure sex.

Will it fit?- strikes me that with only 850pg you'd struggle but i havn't done the maths- also if you want the new heavy assaults tux said they'd take more grid- but if it does fit then yeah ferox can take its seat next to the moa in the "usless ships that need a big boost " class
the drake appears to be uber-sex though along with the hurricane really making BC's a viable ship choice over rax'es and ruppies

5% resists, 5% rof, 7 launchers, and a sexy looking ship. And enough slots to be vaguely sensible with it. That's perfect, and better than I'd expected.
(I was half expecting 'caracal' bonuses, maybe 'raven' but 5% tank and 5% gank is just ... ah, happyness)
And yes, it really should be better than a ferox at _being a missile ship_. Feroxes are gunboats.

This is only the fitting requirement for the modules I suggested.
Wouldn't make any sense if a "normal" ship without a special role would require those skills at those levels

depending on the fit, yeah.
anti-frig? go assault launcher.
anti-cruiser? go heavy assault or heavy missile.
guess the inherent lack of agility and big mass will be the downside however.

Also if you look at the stats for rage heavy assaults and you go full passive ( i.e a couple of resistance amps) you could probably threaten some BS :D

hmm.. yeah but precision lights are more effective vs small stuff tbh.
plus a full rack of 7 assaults gives you even more fitting options (like a full rack of heavy launchers doesn't give you a good ammout of free grid already)

true, but going strictly T2 Heavies, and being able to use Rage for BS killing, and Precision for smaller stuff, with norml for cruiser targets, It's an all purpose war machine

What to say? First real pwnmobile for Caldari. So it must be nerfed(or better removed at all and replaced with ECM-BC), because Caldari have all-mighty Raven and do not need anything more.

wich might be plagued by the usual caldari hi-mass and low agility.

I was wondering about the shield recharge time, 600 secs on the screenie I saw, the Ferox has 1000 secs, is this fubar coz I thought these ships were supposed to have less of a tank not more?
Or am I just really really confused?

'spect you might be right. RoF + resists is good, perhaps too good. RoF + Range might be a better one.
That said, I've yet to actually _fly_ one, so ... *shrug*. They could give it ibis stats and I'd fly one, because it looks cool.
Ferox is still the rail BC. OK, so not all that many caldari do the 'railguns' thing, but with the Rohk there's a definite incentive to do so now

I like my caldari bricks in space. I'm very much looking forward to playing with the drake. I tried to love the ferox as a missile boat, but with no bonuses, I couldn't get very good dps :( I may train up heavy missiles again...

Yeah, but it's MUCH faster/easier/cheaper to fly drake than nighthawk. I have BC 5 already and it would take me 71 days(w/ 20 attributes) to be able to fly a nighthawk yet.
