Vassals are not slaves. In feudal political structures, everyone but the Sovereign is a vassal, incluing the major and minor nobility, subordinate royalty, and so on. In fact, the "serfs" whose status often is slavelike are *not* vassals.

The fact that you or anyone else controls the space you live in is just business, plain and simple. But the fact that big bro has come to the rescue everytime FIX was on the verge of losing it all. That makes you dependant on survival, and thus considered lapdogs.

so, ok, FIX you have 3 choice:
1. Be BoB Slaves, and producing Cigarrs for Molle for the rest of your eve time. 2. Be Ascn Slaves and wash Cyvok's Avatar 23/7 a week 3. Be my Slaves and share with me the finest Vodka stolen from ET's secret supplys
hey it's easy! isn't it?

I don't think BoB has ever come to save us once since the start of the agreement, from my memory .
Some people in FIX would probably have wished otherwise though

.. comeon Taz, thats just wrong..
Lets look at FIX's big wars and how they ended.... so we can move on from the ancient history.
FIX/FA <> CFS/UFS - CFS dies within 2-3 weeks.
SE/BOB/Atuk <> FIX - Although Atuk and BoB weren't spearheading the war we had roaming BoB fleets at the same time as SE was trying to conquer our stations. FIX managed to keep its stations, only losing h74 for a few hours. I'm sorry but on this occasion SE had to beat a retreat, you lost every single fleet engagement against us... add to this that we had BoB and Atuk breathing down our neck too and its quite the achievement. At this time BoB and SE were BEST buddies. Trigger could do no ill in BoB's eyes. Atuk even started the war for you and gave you a causus belli. FIX had been marked for destruction... and we successfully fought you ALL off. FIX won that war categorically.. and it was the seed for the rest of the conflicts with SE/Coalition/CODA.
FIX <> Coaltition - Backdrop to this is our relationship with FA slowly going cold, whilst our relationship with BoB whom we were fighting kept getting better. In the end BoB and FIX become blue and blue and FA eventually dies. Note : BOB and SE/Coalition are still blue and blue too. FIX's western border is secure and Catch becomes a very interesting proposition for a military campaign.. It is held by the Coalition, whom we hated + FIX needed to grow. Bang.. we move in with 150 man fleet and catch the Coalition with its pants down. The next 3 or 4 months a war like no other rages in Catch for the FAT station... it was awesome tbh. However, FIX does start to run out of steam.. Leadership pulls (I gave the order) out of FAT mainly to teach FIX pilots a lesson.... the lesson is quickly learnt.. The Coalition will not stop at FAT they will come for Q too. Our gang participation shoots up to record highs again when The coalition take H74 briefly. FIX is ready to fight for FAT all over again... things are looking good.......BUT... this is where BoB steps in. BoB is now impatient for North vs South to start.... i.e all of the South must NAP. The Coalition <> FIX war took too long. BoB force the coalition and FIX to sign for peace ... OR ELSE. Both FIX and The Coalition (via Trigger, Molle and a FIX Council vote) accede to joining the Southern Alliance of Alliances. The Coalition cement this by actually joining SE again with Cujo as Emperor, which will actually lead later on to the SE civil war .. Conclusion: The result of that war was a draw, imposed on both parties by BoB.
FIX <> CODA war - K this is where my knowledge is a bit hazy but I will try... it starts off after North vs South was to put it mildly, a waste of bloody time that weakened FIX no end. I hated it and I think so did the rest of EVE, specially Commander Woodlouse To put it bluntly FIX needs a good ol' scrap again and so did SE and Huzzah wanted to make a name for itself. Through some minor issue about standings.. the same old war kicks off again. How it ended has been covered well enough in the rest of the thread....
So Taz... as you can see, you told a porkie
SE lost the first FIX <> SE war, BoB imposed peace on both parties in the FIX <> SE war.
And seeing as I have typed so much anyhow.. I'll say this :
I could not live under BoB's rule in Querious, I'd rather die. However, FIX's current membership is more pragmatic and believe that in the long run having BoB take care of the stations is a good move. You know, power to them. Does that make them lapdogs?
Honestly.. its too early to tell IMO, it really depends on what FIX does once they feel they are feeling strong again.

I know FIX has fought lots of wars, some successfull and others not so. Those that have had you gasping for air are the ones I'm refering to.
PS: Same message goes for Dianabolic.

... mmm.. k in that case your original statement is vague to the point of being meaningless... (I say that with no ill intention)...
Bar the CFS war, all major wars that FIX has fought have been touch and go (i.e they could have gone either way).... but only at the end of the CODA war did BoB step in after FIX had lost the war.
And its worth noting that BoB didn't save FIX, they simply took over Querious.. and cut a deal so that FIX could safely rebuild.
I think its a grave mistake here to think that BoB has acted out of anything but self-interest in terms of the Querious situation.
FIX has been close to going under in all the wars its had against SE/Coalition/CODA.. it was a close call everytime. But only in the CODA war did BoB intervene directly against CODA.. and it did so because CODA via OrcA had practically declared war on them, remember that going into the CODA war BoB and SA were still blue on blue......this is crucial.
In the Coalition War, BoB forced both sides to come to the negotiating table so that North vs South could take place.
So I reiterate.. your original stament is misleading and vague to the point of being meaningless, perhaps purposefully so...

Actually BOB stepped in when it was just SA and Huzzah v Fix, we had jus taken FAT.
As for all the people who say ORC A decided upon himself to take on bob, your jus kidding yourself, I mean common... did everyone in SA say lets not fight bob, lets get back to those roids we have all been missing... somehow I doubt it, if it was like that SA would of broke apart there and then or at least ORC A would have been kicked. Nearly everyone in SA wanted to be shooting fix, and no one liked how bob had stepped in, war is why we play this game, we where about to invade querious, the good part was about to begin and most of us thought it was being taken away from us.
As for the CODA war... coda was formed when bob joined in the fight at 9CG when the last fix pos were put into reinforced. Before that it was mainly SA and Huzzah again with some smash and others coming in to take stations as neither SA nor Huzzah wanted to control Querious.
It still amazes me how much smack is directed at that battle which came about on a whim and loads of players came from many different areas to have a good fight. I don't think many will deny that it was a good fight indeed, but coda was not there for the long run.

Edited by: Mahrin Skel on 28/10/2006 20:17:27 I had another long rebuttal ready to go, but in deference to Manfred's request to let the thread die, I'll leave it at this: Overall, when I look at who hates us versus who respects us (even if we're red to each other), I'm much more concerned with the opinions of the latter. FIX has a history of putting our foot in it, then pulling through out of sheer dogged stubborn refusal to quit. We are the "already dead", we are samurai, and I'm proud to be a part of that.
