Edited by: Manfred Sideous on 26/10/2006 23:35:40 Dear Sir
It seems that you your alliance and your allies like to sling mud and accusations in the direction of entities that have good relations to the alliance Band Of Brothers. For the most part they have grossly overstated and unfounded. Most of us have sat queitly trying to figure out your motivations for doing so. As you will notice FIX MC XELAS The Horde and other entities having good relations with Band Of Brothers have stayed impassive and quiet. This is a ASCN & BOB conflict the last time I checked.
But yet FIX MC XELAS and others are called BOB lapdogs. There has been unprovoked attacks on FIX MC and XELAS as well. Dear Sir from what ive seen from killboards forums and player accounts ASCN has their hands very full. Now it would seem that AAA will be attacking your biggest ally and supporter.
Now with those things taken into consideration do still wish to sling mud make attacks and unfounded accusations. I can tell you Cyvok you are providing a catalyst fueling desires for entities that are at this point staying out of the conflict. Perhaps these entities will reach their ropes end with the strife you are attempting to serve.
So I ask you Cyvok is this what you want? Do you really want to provide a catalyst and justification for us "Lapdogs" as you call us to pounce? I would think that you humble down and stop slinging mud. Your hands seem to be full with your current obligations do you really want more?
In my estimation your E-peen isnt big enough to get into a P issing contest with the folks your slinging mud at.
Edit- Addendum Notice* This is a pod pilots personal perception of the current situation and does not reflect the official opinion of aforementioned entities.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend, and the friend of my enemy is my enemy.
From a "Joe Nobody" standpoint, I'd say that is one of the major motivations in this fight.
In every conflict I've ever fought in, just putting "Friend to XXXX" has been enough to make you KOS.
I have the unique perspective of having been in both FIX and BoB at different times in my somewhat lengthy Eve history, although not everyone will remember me.
I know things change, when I was in BoB running in the northern territories, Xelas got poked at in gang/teamspeak for being completely worthless in fights unless they were sitting on a gate shooting people that came through.
I've talked to one or two Xelas guys about it that were willing to have a chat and not smack me in local, and in their eyes BoB treats them as important equals.
Like I said, things may have changed, as I haven't been in BoB for quite some time.
As for FIX, I was on the other side of the fence when BoB invaded the first time, felt weird to shoot at friends, but hey, it's a game.
My old corp Hadean Drive Yards left FIX a bit after the conflict pretty much winded down, and man... I don't think I've ever been prouder of an accomplishment when I found out from a buddy still in FIX that they were launching an outpost (I think it was their first?)
When I heard BoB popped their egg, I thought for sure it would be World War III from now until eternity.
But hey, things change.
After everything that has happened over the last several months, it's hard for me reconcile feeling pity or sadness for people that choose to ally themselves with BoB when they get involved in fighting.
A guy in Xelas made a post that rather moved me, about us taking their outpost.
I can tell he cares as much about his space as we do. But his alliance chooses to be friends or allies with the strongest PVP force in Eve.
I'm sorry you lost your outpost, but it's a casualty of war. You picked your side of the fence, which team you wanted to be on, and that's that.
I don't think that anyone in ASCN wants to keep your outpost, although Serpentis NPC's would be a cool change.
The bottom line is it opens up a second front to move into BoB space from, a second staging area.
If you guys were neutral, or even hostile to BoB, I don't think I would be typing this post right now.
This is a war, you're going to lose ships, stations and clones.
Just like we are going to lose ships and clones. Okay, and maybe a station here or there.
I hold no grudge against FIX and Xelas.
From everything I've heard, BoB wants us gone. Dead. Destroyed. Minced. Chopped. Pureed.
If I have to take a Xelas station to make things harder for them to deal with, then so be it.
That's all I wanted to say about that.
This post in no way should be associated as an official response to your question, for I am just "Joe Nobody" in ASCN.
If you want an official response, wait for a HC or CEO or Alliance CEO to respond.

Hidden in this signature is a secret message.

A small question for the ACSN folks.
You've got your hands full with BoB, obviously: they're tough opponents.
If so, why in the hell are you trying **** off FIX into attacking you? Do you think its easier to fight two alliances at once than to just fight one? It still doesn't make sense to me.

While attacking Fix/Xelas/& co. might bring more targets it is easily justified by the fact that those alliances are operating from BoB stations and as such are contributing economically to BoB's War Machine. That alone is enough to make them a viable target to anyone interested in taking on BoB.

So it makes sense economically you say?
Let's test that theory.
Now, FIX has stated that they pay nothing to BoB, but lets say they pay rent in the stations. Now... any good raider in FIX space knows that FIX doesn't hang out around 3BK, or H74; so lets be realistic, and confine ourselves to 9CG in our calculations.
Cool?
Ok then. FIX has 11 corps, let's say they all pay the astronomical sum of 100m a month for an office in 9CG shall we... and at those prices, who the heck is going to have one in 3BK or H74?
Righty.. on we go, that comes up to a whopping huge 1.1b isk a month! Or 11 Tier 2 BS a month, but sans fittings.
OMGZORS! BoB IS RICH OFF FIX!!!!111
Ok, now sarcasm and irony aside etc. If FIX were to go hunting for ASCN, because they got ticked off for whatever reason, would they be able to inflict more than 1.1b isk damage in a month?
Does ASCN really need an irritated FIX hampering their movements in Delve, or searching out targets of opportunity close to home?
Well... I'll let you do the rest of the math.

I'm no fan or enemy of anyone mentioned or is part of this conflict, but...
You say Cyvok himself has said these things, which I have not seen anywhere, if I'm incorrect on this my apologies, but you cant realy blame Cyvok for things his members have said, then put at the bottom of your post what you say as a mere member is not speaking on behalf of your alliance.
If the ASCN saying these things are saying them on behalf of their alliance and Cyvok, then surely your post is also saying this for your whole alliance and its leadership, no?
Like I say I may have missed the post where he says the things you claim he does, in which case /slap me and I'll go back to my dark corner

No. That map is useless in that regard tbh, and its certainly not gospel. Mind you that the map only reflect what some player has choosen to claim. There are many factual claims that you wont see on that map, as said alliances dont want to either borther with it or advertise thier pressence.
If you want an accurate map I recomend using the ingame map to see WHO is claiming WHAT. From that you would clearly see Xelas, MC, The Horde, Storm Armada and FIX claims in what the alliance map sets as "BoB" space.
But if you really do see all these people as valid targets, and given the fact that they have not declared war on you, do them the curticy of declairing war on them before you attack them.

Those words were never uttered in the direction of Querious, please try again. A little hint - at the time FIX deserved some assistance. Despite our recent standings reset our respect for them reached past "pew pew" and led to us stepping in to defend our long term friends against some rather idiotic enemies. We prevented those enemies from achieving their goals whilst giving FIX space to breathe.
As time goes by our decision to do this is vindicated a thousand fold. FIX prospers, FIX grows, we in BoB are immensely happy that it is now at the juncture where FIX are in a position to state their own terms of contact with entities that once (ASCN) tried to cut them off like lepers.

I was still a specatator back then, but yeah, I read and think I understand most of it. I'm not saying BoB conquered Querious from FIX and enslaved them that way (I read "in the direction of" as "with regards to", so there may be some confusion here). All I'm saying is BoB have staked their claim on Querious, rather definitively. To the general public, as one of which I'm speaking here, the current situation at the very least makes it appear that FIX must dance to BoB's tune in order to keep their home. I realize there are plenty of nuances that could be made, but until BoB and FIX state that Querious is under the sole control of FIX again (and the "We took it" statement retracted), most people will just take it at face value. --

Much props, Gungankllr. Truthfully, this is the belly of the beast. If you are unwilling to deal with this or gain strength from these points, then why the hell are you in alliance. This has gone beyond ratting for you isk. This is about honor and pride. This is all about who is willing to stand up and raise arms. Some have called Xelas lapdog & carebears. There are those who are willing to stand up and follow what they believe. No, it may not be newbie paradise...but combat makes you hard, and those who fight, and fight fair, I salute you.
To the hunt...to the kill each and every one of you.
Heres to good and the most horrible days to come.

Have you actually read that post or understand the events that were happening at the time? Exactly how many FIX do you see in the opening pages of that thread? Maybe the statement was directed toward someone else?
EDIT - Additionally, do you know who Marv is? If you don't then stop right now.

Thing is, for the most part we're perfectly fine with letting people keep their assumptions. FIX isn't remotely interested in seeing a 5 month old post retracted where BoB laid claim to the region of Querious. We didn't lose space due to BoB, we are afforded the ability to operate in Querious due to BoB.

I understand that and can't blame you for it. But this thread is about the references to FIX as being "slaves", "lapdogs" and what have you. Personally, I don't agree to those words but hey, the perception of "the friend of my enemy is my enemy" is a strong one for many. People will make their assumptions based on what they see until you give them reason to change their perception. You say you're perfectly fine with that but at the same time you react to this image and the terms used. The way I see it, it's in your own power to do something about it. --

Don't get me wrong Sharcy, I know where your point of view comes from, and it is very common. FIX have been called people's lapdogs since before we even had the name FIX to go by. Name calling doesn't do much to us, we don't care for it, but public perception is only as powerful as you allow yourselves to make it. (At least in most circumstances and situations)
When perception crosses over into us being targetted however, we tend to get a little ticked, and will take the time to correct assumptions people may have made. When it persists, people end up creating self-fulfilling prophecy when we hunt them down and add them to the trophy case. It certainly doesn't correct the perception, but we feel better about it after.

Honesty, I am interested and see where CELES was going with the neutral pilots bit. So....CELES with ASCN help now have Yoshimi... but what does this leave for the poor defenseless neutral? The whole idea of this conflict has switched from helping the little guy to striking at BoB and assisting ASCN in their little campaign. I know that ASCN isn't going to allow the so called innocent in docking at Yoshimi...So what gives CELES? You give up your little quest to become the lapdog of ASCN because you can't fight the big dog head on? Yes, I understand the whole enemy of my enemy is my friend bit, but why did you surrender Yoshimi to ASCN? Having a bit of the ol tucking the tail between your legs syndrome? -

That doesn't alter the fact that when you join FIX you get a BoB brand on your ass. You can hunt people wherever you want and have trophy cases but at the end of the day you have to return to the dog house and no amount of self delusion will change that.

More accurately, they beat you down and you were forced to take their terms. Now, here you are pretending to be confused as to why your losing the odd ship. As this war is unfolding, it seems to me that FIX has two options.
1) Live in denial as slaves in Querious. Hey, they probably don't whip you but who really runs the show in Querious? Honestly.
2) Rise up and take back what is yours. I seriously doubt ASCN has anything against you (or Xelas) except for the fact that you chose to live under the flag of those that conquered you. You aid them even if via simple taxation.

ASCN coming to Fountain to assist on the take down of the Xelas Outpost was perfect.
ASCN took the chance by the nads, they gave BOB a choice to protect Xelas and divide the forces taking away strain from their own space, or watch one of their allies be destroyed. either way ASCN cannot lose the fountain excursion. Even if BOB "pay" a certain merc alliance to retake fountain they will still be using resources better spent elsewhere.
They now also get a strong PVP corp on their side by answering our mails while others ignored them.
like i said before, perfect and a great move by ASCN.

BOB is one of the few entities that have been consistent with their policies and actions. That is somthing we value alot in FIX. They are stable and dependable as friends and as enemies. When BOB tells you their gonna bring it they do exactly that. WHen they say they got your back they do exactly that.
Also I woukld like to point out when BOB came into Querious to take it. They werent shooting FIX matter of factly we were flying alongside them. Which IMO was a nice gesture they let us get in on some teeth kicking after ours had taken some tough hits.
As far as BOB blowing up our outpost egg. It sucked but not to bad . That was the funnest day Ive ever had in Eve. We WTFPWN'd a CODA fleet then got WTFPWND by BOB. But we did it with class and style. LoL I lost 4 battleships 1 battlecruiser and 1 cruiser to BOB that day and it ROCKED.
Bottom line is BOB are FIX's friends something we are proud to admit. IMO it will be that way till their is no one left to shoot then im sure it will be WTFBBQ days again.

Your viewpoint is yours and yours alone and I can respect it. But the thing is you can think whatever you want at the end of the line you are in Querious because BoB allow you to be there.
As an alliance you are not the supreme authority in the space that you inhabit, you are no more than a buffer for BoB. If you are cool with that then great but don't come here and sell us complete crap about FIX being a stand alone alliance that does whatever it wants.
You can delude yourself for as long as you want but I think the picture is pretty clear for the community.

Show me where I have said that we are a stand-alone alliance? Show me any Fixian who has said words to that effect over the last 5 months. We were a stand-alone alliance, and we managed to tick off half of Eve in the process.
I think you and I look at what stand-alone means in different ways though. Are the coalition of LV -V- etc, stand-alone alliances vs RA? What you really want to know is does FIX have self-determination.
Would FIX have sought out standings with ASCN, AXE, and POS when BoB was going to war with them if we didn't have self-determination? Would FIX hook up with IAC, and leave Querious for a week and a half if we were simply a meatshield buffer while BoB was out fighting in Delve and ASCN space?
I'm tempted to insult your intelligence here, but I honestly don't think you've even taken the time to think about the facts.

FIX has allies and friends, and we work together with them towards common goals. We go after our own goals when and how we like. Our allies provide us tremendous benefits the likes that haven't been available to us in the past... what the hell do others offer, other than breaking NAPs at a whim, uncertain futures, and unstable politics?

Thats a silly thing to say.. if anything wouldnt that make ASCN our lapdogs?. we ask for ASCNs help in taking down the POS network.. everyone knows that celes apoc have very little capital support.
XELAS only exist in fountain and have an outpost in fountain because of the backing of BOB, thats why u are a lapdogs. celes apoc does what we want and exist thru pure PVP ability.
ASCN get involved in a easy victory which celes apoc done all the hard work in, and we get rid of the hiding place of XS.
thats win win for ASCN and celes apoc.
ASCN wont be engaging corps with "friends of celes apoc" in the description.. we said we would defend these corps and we always do what we say.

McMike,
Your history of the events surrounding FIX's loss of Querious.... is pure ass. I'll break it down for you really quick here. FIX was fighting CODA: SA, Huzzah, Smash, Imperium, and a few others; over the course of months. We were down to 1 station, 9CG; half of FIX had just left and we had 450 pilots left. We were out of isk, out of ships, and getting ready to bail from 9CG to go rebuild elsewhere in preperation for our return.
/queue BoB
BoB comes in, and kicks the living crap out of CODA, who splinter and leave Querious faster than a politician from a burning *****house. FIX, didn't suddenly have a magical reserve of ships, isk or members; do you honestly think we were in a position to hold space at that point?? Seriously???
Now, what options does that leave FIX? - Say 'Mine! Gimmie back!' - Say 'You keep it, we're taking off to empire' - Say 'We accept your proposal'
I'm not handing out details on the proposal, except that it should be common knowledge at this point that FIX found it to be extremely favorable.
You're right btw... you are a nobody, you've fully demonstrated that you know frigging squat about when you are talking about FIX.
This is a nice summary for the uninformed.. except where you called us cowards that splinter and ran etc... We gave a good fight to BoB there, and only reason we slowly failed to hold the ground, was failure at logistics level: getting new ships and replacements wasnt organized, the forces were loosing coherence etc. Anyway its a long story and off topic, but try not to make it look as if we ran like cowards, unless you want to start a flame fest, I am sure it can be arranged ------------------ Save Tranquility! |

LOL.
I never said I owned any space. I live JUST LIKE YOU, in someone elses space. LV are in charge of Omist just as much as BOB are in charge of your old space. LV taxes us just like BOB taxes you. I just don't suffer from your delusions about reality. When RA comes or whom ever, I don't try to claim that I should somehow be exempt from the fighting and losses. That somehow I'm an innocent bystander even thought I clearly aid the real owners of the region.
Btw, from my understanding, DSA was created by LV after LV took omist for corps to come to live in omist and make it a productive region. We signed up willingly. Its very different to FIX who was conquered and had little choice in their future.

Not really.
SA hid and ran after we arrived in Stain. CODA split up after three days.
FIX fought BoB for at least 3 months head on when we initially arrived in the south. They never hid, they never ran.
They then fought you and the rest of CODA bandwagon for a looooong time. They never hid, they never ran until they were on the brink of being overwhelmed.
So no just even attempt to pretend you are anything compared to FIX, because you are not.

Originally by: Audrea This is a nice summary for the uninformed.. except where you called us cowards that splinter and ran etc... We gave a good fight to BoB there, and only reason we slowly failed to hold the ground, was failure at logistics level: getting new ships and replacements wasnt organized, the forces were loosing coherence etc. Anyway its a long story and off topic, but try not to make it look as if we ran like cowards, unless you want to start a flame fest, I am sure it can be arranged
Another worthwhile addendum: more than a few people were quite unhappy how certain parties decided to dragoon our attempt to finish driving FIX out of 0.0 ownership into being some grand crusade against BoB, complete with silly metaphorical glove-to-the-face-"sir-I-challenge you-to-a-duel!" forum posts. We'd always anticipated some BoB involvement in the situation, but between the logistics, the lack of willingness in most of the CODA constituents to throw down POSes in 9CG, and the fact that we succeeded in drawing down BoB's full fury by the end thanks to said stupid grandstanding...well, in Huzzah at least there had already been plans to pull back after that weekend, and the sudden, bloody developments didn't make that decision any harder. We'd thrown ourselves back into the fight much too quickly after the V2 battle with BoB (which we already had fought with heavily depleted resources), and our material endurance - dodgy at the best of times; say hello to one of Huzzah's greatest weaknesses - was in complete shambles.
That said, the FIX guys get full credit for not completely fragmenting at the end and keeping a stiff upper lip throughout the entire thing - characteristically FIX, that. You guys chose to exist at all costs, and by the sound of it BoB gave you a remarkably fair deal, so all the more power to you gentlemen. You get no lasting ill-will from me.
I still say you need to retake FAT from its current slumlord owners, though. ------ Quartermaster, No Quarter "There is no problem that cannot be solved by the judicious application of violence." |

I'd love to see FIX completely wiped out, so my word will be strongly biased but...
- It wasnt BoB who killed SA, it was SE. Stain being an NPC-sov region was completely against BoB's navy doctrine; no-one can kick out an alliance from NPC-sov regions unless you decide to live there, thats what SE did and they only did it for pride (muhcos respect for Shifu) since they disbanded and formed AAA right after SA dissapeared.
- FIX have been the ultimate lapdogs in EVE history.. In the begining they were called QDF (Querious defence force) and lived under their supervising overlords Black Avatar who were representatives of FA. They later on traded their "freedom" with FA in exchange of backstabbing the UFS (CFS/StA/DSMA) -The war between FA and UFS began cause UFS refused to be a lapdog of FA anymore-. Not much has changed though, FA kept dictating FIX's external-politics. The true purpose of FIX was to be a buffer zone for the southern area of FA.
- When BoB came into the picture there were "some" fights and after FA fell, it was obvious for FIX and BoB that FIX would serve the same purpose they did to FA, due to the regions BoB decided to live in. Once BoB saw FIX's power is wearing off, they did what had to be done.
I might be biased and misinformed in some points but this is pretty much the general scheme of things. FIX has always been lapdogs.. they should be proud of what they are, they played the diplomatic game very well!

Higher rewards?
I would say that FIX are further down the road by staying in 00 space and preserving their alliance.
Along the way they seem to have made close allies with the most powerful nation in Eve, currently. I suspect that at some point FIX will be independent again, all the while rebuilding themselves from the literal brink of exctintion.
From what I have seen BoB are tough yet fair opponents and enemies. A stand-up relationship is the best you can hope for. -----

I was thinking... I know OMG!
BoB really haven't made much progress. I began to think that BoB may have failed in what they set out to do, or not expected to much resistance.
However, I realised that I had been thinking of big alliances wars in a kind of blitzkreig sense. Forgetting, for example, SA vs CA. It went on for donkeys, everyone had a great time (yeah the smack was on a similar level to bob vs ascn but still).
So despite what your all saying to eachother, I'm sure its all fun and games in the end.

They blew up the egg after their standing reset which included Fix aswell.
Fix and Bob had and have a friendship which goes beyond "+v" forged with the mutual respect fighting against each other in 9cg and later together with each other in 9cg.
In short every friend of BoB gets classed a lapdog or a slave or a pet. On the otherhand alliances like G or Ascn or Imperium "do the right thing" by finding partners.
The fine difference of connotation there. BoB demonized everyone else "doing it fair and square and would be stupid if they didnt".
From past dealings with Fix i can only say they have been an oustanding alliance if it comes to forming agreements. Even if they just involve "who jumps in first" or "who empties the gate" in a war situation. They stand 100% to their word and dont need to tell their own members any hoax of how well a situation is. They call it like they see it which seems to be one of the main reasons they get on well with bob. Call it similar mindset or amicable similarities in their way of thinking.

Originally by: LUKEC
What was KAOS empire? Enlighten us, please.
Sure..
Kaos Empire was formed after SE took the stations in Omist from whatever alliance lived there (sorry cant remember right now). There were 3 stations and 3 main corps left in SE (XB, Species, ADGA) each was supposed to get one of the stations and ensure its security for the alliance.
Shifu decided Species was not worth the station and gave it to VVS (a newly joined russian corp back then), Cujo was really upset about it and we as ADGA also didnt appreciate this and offered both Shifu and Cujo to talk things over. It didnt work out, Shifu who took over the alliance gave 500mils to Cujo who would form a new alliance with it (Kaos Empire).
We really respected Shifu as a great FC and CEO but wouldnt appreciate his ways as an alliance leader. So ADGA followed Species into Kaos Empire. We were offered some space by FE if we would help them with the campaing against NBSI and PA. FE was sick of NBSI bringing up new conflicts to their doorstep every week (since NBSI was up in Tenal while FE had to deal with the ppl with its borders to empire), and sick of PA's weak leadership.
So we started small by terrorizing the spacelanes first, then an unexpected thing happened and FIVE move into Venal. FE got too scared and NAPed them immediately, while cutting off any contact with Kaos Empire. So we decided to gather up everyone and everything and move into Venal with force.. it was more of a bluff rather than a tactic. It was successful and FIVE offered us Tenal, which was perfectly fine for us considering the size of our alliance. We then went into a fullscale war with NBSI while FIVE took care of PA..
Long story short we were building up and recruiting ppl after the war, with FIVE in Venal, FE in Tribute, Vale etc. Then suddenly our alliance leader Cujo decided to leave the game and e-bay his account (reason why he got perma banned) to buy a new living room or whatever.. He appointed Duke North as the new alliance leader. Duke was rarely on and so we formed a managment council to handle alliance stuff. Duke got jealous of Amarr CEO (Cujo & Amarr were a great team, Duke on the other hand was just a wierdo IMO) and the support he got from other CEOs. The alliance didnt wanted to lose Species as a corp but everyone agreed that Duke had to go!
In the mean time FE disbanded and became ERA, FIVE disbanded and became DICE + something else, G/IRON become D2 and IRON etc.. We asked G, later on D2 many times to help us get rid of the FIVE presence, and the answer was that they were busy with BoB and we should hang in there. Later on they attacked us with the reasoning that we were NAPed with FIVE.
On the day our factory station was undersiege by D2/Razor we needed dreadnoughts to get rid of the hostile POS'. It came out Duke North had the only dreadnought in the alliance, (Kozak, Almightybig, etc who had sacreficed their dread in taking Tenal left to join ASCN) but he refused to use it and logged out! That was the last drop filling a big bucket of patience so ADGA decided to leave the alliance, we informed the whole alliance that we were leaving and started putting down the towers in 6OY which we controlled. Soon after species started shooting on our haulers, Species immediately lost access to 60Y station and it came out Duke was keeping his dread in 60Y station so they tried to apologize and make up for it and then continue the hostility once we turned out to be extremely stubborn. It all went downhill after that some corps sided with Species, some sided with ADGA the good old civil war was back, we just packed all our stuff into freighters and ran out of the conflict as fast as possible.
Following Species was a mistake but if we would have stayed in SE we would have to ally with RAT (AAA) later on which is a big NO-NO for ADGA, so we would be left in Stain with nothing. All what ADGA was looking for was a good team, I'm glad we are finally in one !

These posts about us being lame, makes me very angry. So we're lame, because we actually have frfends first time! Yeah right, Whats The Coallition that cant kick out RA? They are lame because they have friends?
Are we stupid because we didint give up? Should we have given up when 9CG fell? Should we? Many would have done that, but now FIX, and FIX will never die. We took the best option. We have now our "own" 0.0 space. We live there without taxes, we make our own policies.
FIX is not a quitter allinace that quits straight when it loses its space. We took the offer to rebuild us. We learned a lot from CODA wars, I admit we lost to CODA, and we're now in 0.0 because of bob, and im not ashemed of it, lapdog isint the word. You know, we're rebuilding our selves, and we have came long way from end of CODA war.
We would have not disbanded even if we would have lost 0.0 acces, we would have rebuilt ourselves, and came take what is ours. So its wrong to be friends with BoB? You cant be BoB friend without being a mining slave? So now days you cant be friend without being slave.

Proud member of fix. Hated on finnish channel.

Pleeeease.
* You had your own 0.0 space, you now live in BOB's 0.0 space. Look at alliance map and look at the sov of the station systems. * You pay taxes as soon as your press the refine button in BOB's stations. * You have your own policies AS LONG as they don't conflict with BOB's policies. If they do, BOB's dictates what you do. If you want to do something and bob said no, you would not do it.
BOB controls you. They may leave you be when your not needed but ultimately, BOB has final say on what happens in their space.

Just because you say so doesn't make it true. Do research before you make yourself look like a buffoon by posting blatantly false information.
By the definitions used by bitter CODA members in this thread, every single alliance in EVE is a "lapdog" of ASCN, BoB, D2, LV, or other large power block. Give it up: you lost the war, now go away. Until you can beat an alliance without outnumbering it 15 to 1, nobody is going to pay any attention to you.

In regards to FIX and their affiliation with BoB
From the outside, the way I see it is this: - FIX and BoB had a war awhile back - There was little smack in boards and local - From that war brewed respect for one another - War called off and friendship became - FIX get into bind - FIX get help from BoB out of that respect and cuz they don't like the alternative
Fast forward to today: - ASCN have war with BoB - Smack runs rampid within boards and local - This war does not brew respect for one another - War becomes personal now - When any alternative is better than the current war target, there is no reason to call off war
Most likely it will become a death for one entity because of it as the other will try to nail the coffin shut.
The Great Northern War was a campaign that lasted awhile. The Five vs. Xetic Federation was quick and painless (yes I know it's not Xetic but it's the same leadership). We'll see how it pans out after all the bodies are picked up. --- Nytemaster

So turning to d2 would help your cause exactly in what way? I don't understand, really. It would turn you magically from lapdog to ally? I think we are more discussing semantics than content here. Are d2 and RZR allies or is one lapdog of the other one? What about d2 and IRON(considering last year bob's roadtrip) or d2 & Morsus Mihi(and conflict with TCF)? Or for instance consider LV/VI/KOS... I hope it helps you understand my point of view. This will be offtopic: You lost capital ships on gate (was good fight, you made NBSI/PA happy after all hardcore spanking we were getting from 5. on daily basis). I still don't know why you didn't wait for server upgrade, lag was horrible. About tenal... it's sh1thole. Nothing to do there apart from mining till your brains quit. Edited by: Xeliya on 27/10/2006 17:54:16 TBH I think ASCN might start killing them selfs as I know Xelas was told to stay out of the ASCN war and I pretty sure FIX was too but ASCN provoking both alliance TBH is kinda dumb . . .
As for the whole thing on hey lets attack XS and open a new front on the war, you do realize BoB was told not to bother coming to help nor would they want too unless it was under extreme circumstances in which the outpost would more then likely become theirs, you guys delicate 100+ people in to take a place that isn't theirs means they have 100+ less to deal with in your space which is where the war is.
On taking the Outpost you have also forced XS and The Horde to stop their normal life and learn to fight for freedom, you just happened to hit at the right time when 3 major corps (Dark, NOPHEX and MByte) and the top FC left XS.
You wonder why there has been no major offensive from XS to take down your POS's that shouldn't even be considers a POS (lame spammers) will be because of the reason above, XS has a lot of restructuring to do and I will love to see a few days from now once they finally have it setup.
All in all as I said before ASCN you guys may have just just your grave even bigger by provoking people told to stay out of the conflict as it was not their war till now . . . ----------

Gallente News Network have been in contact with a central source within ASCN. From a dark back ally someplace in Tash Murkon region, I got some information that seems solid.
My sources tell me that ASCN consider any alliance or corporation operating in the regions BOB claim to be hostile unless they sign up for killing BOB. All chains have been cut and the dogs are let loose.
On a direct question if ASCN would go after MC, the answer was, and I quote : "No, we have no reason to. MC have they're own constallation, and we remain pretty sure that they will not allow BOB safe haven in there, as MC officials claim that BOB would overstay they're welcome. However, if MC do get involved, then MC pick a side and will find themselves in a POS war with one goal : Bore them to death." I was lead to believe that MC and ASCN will have some talks on the gathering in Iceland to work out the specifics.
When asked why ASCN leave BOB to roam freely and nearly uncontested in Paragon Soul the official just shrugged and said, quote : "If all of BOB are in PS, why should we go there and play with them? They don't live there. We do. Untill they commit some billion isk worth of hardware to that region, we will continue to cut away the land they live off. Once BOB move to fountain or Delve, then popping the POS's in PS will be a piece of cake." But, what about loosing 7 dreads and 30so battleships in a single engagement to BOB I asked. The answer was : "So? the 15 POS towers cost more than the dreads. AAA destroyed 4-5 times that much earlier. It is only corporate / alliance isk. Ships are of no importance here."
Ships of no importance? I asked if he could please explain. "You see. We have more dreads than dread able pilots for the most of it. The only way to learn is by trying. MWD T2 sniper battleships seemed to be something we where not up for right there and then. We then lost a few days worth of logistics and T2 sales. But, most of our pilots had fun. We are the once setting the agenda. BOB can only answer to our moves, and they very seldomly make any outfalls towards us except some small roaming gangs. Those are really not of any importance. The problem ASCN face, are more practical. It is called LAG and Nodes.".
So, how long would you say this war will go on? "Well. I guess most of BOB's minions and slaves will be pushed out within 45 days. Our allies, new and old, are doing one hell of a job. BOB also have they're share of enemies that help in any way they can. I do not see any way this conflict will be over until KALI hits. Then it will be some HUGE battles, and I guess we will see. For us, it will be hard to hold regions all the way from Fountain to Feythabolis, so that land have to be divided somehow."
Rather BOLD here are we?
"Yes.. but, things are going our way. We have the time. We have not lost many people either. I expect somewhere between 500 and 1000 people leaving ASCN in the next 90 days. That will be good ridance. Also, we expect to gain 200-300 pilots in the same period. All in all, it is great to be ASCN these days."
So. There we go I am Gallente Vengeance, back to the flames and trolls.

This whole thread just wreaks of complete desperation. ASCN must really be in dire straights if their main goal now is try to act like 10 year olds in a play ground trying to drive a wedge between 2 friends.
It seems to me like FIX and BOB are in a great situation in regards to each other. Mutually beneficial like any kind of relationship. If ind it comical that ASCN and their alts only real weapon is words at this point.
Gosh...what a unique strategy. Let's call anyone friendly with BOB a lap dog, in a feeble attempt to inspire in them some sort of irrational desire to fight their own allies in a last ditch desperate attempt to take some pressure off our corp.
What a gem, did Cyvok make that one up? lol =0) How many dif corps have you called lapdogs now? It's funny, by your definition 99% of all corps in the game would be lapdogs. From all accounts fix is a really cool gang of peeps and they're making their way in the universe the best way they can and are taking advantage of what's available to them and making friends with who they choose. You think calling them lapdogs is going to somehow make them think you are intelligent?
somehow I doubt it.
It's becoming more and more obvious that ASCN was completely totally unprepared for what a real war truely entails on eve. The fact that your'e trying to attack everyone friendly to bob right now in some brilliant 'strategem' at cutting off a bob supply chain is probably one of the worst decisiosn you could make.
All yer doing is stirring up more hornets nests that are going to land squarely in your already decimated lap.
I stll haven't seen anyone in ASCN be able to answer this simple question - how can you disrupt a supply chain that'snot in use?
If you can't win any fleet battles, BOB doesn't need any supply chain to beat you. I'm in what I'm sure you will refer to as a 'slave corp'...which just shows how ignorant you are, but we haven't even been glanced at for assistance in any way other than docking at a station (ouch, the isk hurts). I just don't think your leadership truely understands the situation you are in, or you'd probably already have disbanded.
Anyway my rant is over. 5 pages of ascn tryin to 'drive a wedge' or insult fix is just stupid. Frankly I'm surprised anyone is even dignifying this stupidity with a response.

There is a difference between allying with an alliance to fight a common enemy and obeying another alliance in external and/or internal politics.. One is called an ally, the latter a lapdog.
The Coalition that fights RA is being held together by RA at the same time, I doubt the level of peace and understanding can be kept alive once RA is gone from the picture. V are great pvpers and I'd love to test out my skills vs them sometime
Back to KAOS, who wanted to ally with G/D2 to get rid of their overlords the .5., it doesnt mean KAOS would obey D2 in anyway, the cooperation was meant to take care of FIVE.
Back to topic which is FIX, FIX and BoB didnt had common enemies or goals... Back in time abit, FA vs UFS, FIX allies with FA cause it was the easy way out. FA then uses FIX as a southern bufferzone, despite them having no common goals or enemies. What purpose did FA have for FIX, protect them from attacks that may come from the lower regions which are already blocked by Querious?..
Sorry if I'm confusing you, but I personally rather say "Damn I got WTFPWNED, time to move on" instead of "I'm still here but I'm obeying some 3rd party"...

k.... enough rubbish from you.
First of all.. I don't really care what you say about FIX and its current arrangement with BoB, that is not my business and FIX can argue their case about that.
However, start talking about FIX and FA and CFS/UFS.. and well thats a whole new arena of history that I personally will take you to task on..
FIX <> UFS... I was a FIX JCoS at the period you speak of..and I can categorically tell you that I and many others within FIX categorically hated UFS/CFS.. primarily because you were incompetent and couldn't fight your way out of a paper bag.. so fighting you had nothing to do with FA really, besides UFS/CFS had already decided that Querious would be part of their theatre of war.. and on the first day of the CFS/UFS<>FIX/FA war a 100 man CFS fleet was sent in to capture Querious stations.. you were promptly obliterated, no FA in sight.
FIX <> FA.. after CFS/UFS died we were allied with FA... because there was no reason not to be. Whilst we viewed FA with suspicion, on account of their imperialistic tendencies.. there was no reason to fight them.
What really defined FIX for the period from then until about 6 months ago was FIX's conflict with SE/Coalition/CODA (in that order)... which again has little to do with FA or BoB for that matter.
So you can stop right now with your lapdog argument stretching back to the CFS/UFS wars.... cause all that does is make you look silly, if you limit it to the present.. it holds more water.

The propganda/smear attempt in this entire thread is laughable. Calling alliances allied with other alliances "lapdogs". A sad attempt in dividing loyalties. Its called having friends and allies. Thats like me saying AXE are ASCN lapdogs, and I'm sure some people can make an arguement out of that.
Things must be desparate when people resort to this sort of behavior. ----

i love all the people who say FIX are bobs lapdogs or whatever...i dont even know half the people/corps who say it, but if you really wanna find out who controls 9CG i suggest you take a fleet there and find out...we did many times in huzzah, and not once did BoB help them defend...that was after the CODA wars of course, but what i dont think people understand is during that war FIX was getting gang-banged by like 6 alliances, and after we took FAT and 3bk, we pretty much assumed (at least in killsons, and alot of people in huzzah) that BoB would step in, first because who wants neighbors who have an intense hatred of you (i forget which one, imperium or something?), and the fact that neither Huzzah or Stain -alliance wanted querious, we just thought that once we kicked FIX out bob would come take the space for themselves...until xirtams famous forum post
now FIX has had time to rebuild, i'm pretty sure they could defend themselves very well :)
anyways thats my take on things, nothing official, i was and still am just a grunt who likes to pew pew things...i'm not speaking on behalf of anyone who was in huzzah/stain alliance either...and i really dont care what anyone else thinks of what happend then or whatever...just makes me laugh when someone calls FIX bob lapdogs...go fight em, find out for yourself

Sorry to say that but you talk alot of bollox there. On one hand you claim ppl fighting a common enemy are "partners" on the otherhand you classify your own relationship with 5 as beeing their lapdog ? 5 did at no point influence your politics or your inner workings when you attacked Tenal. FE brought you into the mix and offered a new partner to take care of NBSI, an alliance 5 wanted to deal with at a later point of time. When the initial attack happened there was litterally no coordination or even cooperation, let alone "orders" from 5 for your new alliance. You did your thing in Tenal, we did ours against PA.
Now back to your general classifications of "beeing lapdogs" and "beeing partners". Every 0.0 alliance has many different reasons to form a partnership or an alliance with its neighbours or with other factions. The biggest factor is personal benefit / gain. Sometimes agreements are made just because its to the benefit of both parties. I.E. the old FA / SA deal. Both sides declared a mutual interest to defeat CA and kept each others backs covered without the direct need for FA to move in and fight on the frontlines. FA / Norad deal. Was initially not aimed against a direct enemy but more a normal peacetreaty. Xetic/CA deal, Xetic stayed neutral and mined away using CA's stations without attacking SA.
Alliances without space who rent or inhabit space do this for various reasons. One of the most obvious reasons is their will to experience 0.0 while they might lack a) the dedication b) the strength or c) the will to put up their own stronghold somewhere. Cooperating with an alliance offering a strategical partnership isnt wrong as both parties benefit from it. No matter how you call it, most of those who you call slaves, lapdogs or pets do it because it pays and not because they like to pay someone else.
Having said that we close the circle, if a "lapdogs" main intention is to get a deal which "pays" and brings him direct gain and if a "partner" does the same, be it defined through military support, economical benefits (ISS anyone) or a gurantee for peace its easy to assume we are looking at the same kind of entity. In short what you call lapdogs or partners is the same thing its just colored by your own bias. Where the friend of an enemy is a lowlife / slave and the friend of a friend (or of your own) is a respected partner.
I think Nez covered all the CFS stuff. Which basically picks your argument completely apart combined with my points. Try again.

Mauxir, I hadn't realised that you were previously in SA, that actually explains a lot. Take a look at who is doing the insulting towards FIX in this thread... 80% of it are ex-SA, a few ex-CFS and co, and then there is an anomoly like McMike who is just to dense to realise he shouldn't be posting things that he has no immediate experience with.
Basically, all people that we have had extremely nasty conflicts with. Look at other past enemies posting here in FIX's defence, like Huzzah. Thanks for your words btw Go Maz.
Oddly enough I rather like Finite Horizon; take a while and try to bury everything you've ever been told about FIX by your past corpmates and leaders in SA, then talk to your corpmates in Finite, many of them have a very long track record of fighting with us, against us, or a bit of both. Specifically, talk with Madcap, Cyther, Endless, and Levin.
Hatred in a game isn't a bad thing, it's an emotion like most others; blind hatred will screw you over every time though.

This are indeed exciting times. GNN have been talking to a pair of BOB pilots, and they can hardly believe they're eyes.
Centrally placed BOB members have shown undercover reporters from GNN what huge losses ASCN are taking in Paragon Soul. The region have grinded to a complete stop, but still the Cyvokians keep die'n. We asked, what are the goals of this conflict? "The goal here is to tear ASCN apart. They are nothing but Xetic happening all over again. Also BOB need the region of Paragon Soul and some parts of Esoteria for Kali."
Do you two believe that ASCN can keep this fighting up? "No. They don't fight now either. They just run and hide, and when they are not hiding, they simply do incedibly strange moves, generating killmails on our boards".
I see. I know you guys from another place (BF) and what is BOB's view on ASCN's somewhat half-hearted attacks? "Well, ASCN have marked, for some reason, Xelas, Horde and to some extent FIX as the industrial backbone of BOB. Once, they marked Trust as the same industrial alt's of G. BOB then massacred all the POS's in Trusts OP system, and ASCN claimed victory. That is when the plans to destroy ASCN was initated."
So, a lot of planing have gone into this? "Yes. However, the total change of the North somewhat put things on 'hold' as we could not commit our full strength untill D2 had settled in. Now, D2 are our only equal in EVE. That is, untill someone find out they are all MC alts. He He He"
Sarcasme, nice. So, How do you BOB pilots view the attacks ASCN makes against your 'guests'? "Well, we are actually quite puzzled. We practicaly hold 2 of they're regions almost locked down. AAA are massacring AXE 6 jumps from AZN and Cyvok have his 'belivers' engaging in combat 65 jumps from home. In my opinion, they are close to breaking up."
You think, ASCN is breaking up? "Yes. Can not be any other answer. Why else would several of they're corps disobey direct orders to evict us from Paragon Soul, and instead go make enemies with 2-3 other alliances? They are simply not thinking straight."
Interesting. Now, we have talked to someone from Celestial Apocalypse earlier today. They claim, that ASCN are taking over Fountain and that Delve is next. What are your responses to that? "They need to lay of the Serpentine pills.".
Ok, there we have it. I am Gallente Vengeance, over to the flames and trolls.

Seems odd to continue to argue over personnel opinions for so long, guess that is the fun of the forum.
Might as well chime in mine for the fun of it... FIX your lapdogs, smooth fury ones, the kind that are good to stroke in front of the fire as your reminisce about the good times.
But seriously, this is my opinion, there are many others like it, and many that are not. I am pretty sure I am right; whilst others will be pretty sure I am wrong.
Why do I think I am right, well... you live in space that was granted to you by a greater power, the same power that pushed back your invaders when your where nearly defeated. You are what you are now because of them, whether through respect, affection or any other means. That is why people from the other side of the fence judge you so.
For those who are on the ball, yes I am ex-SA, and yes I was there during that last conflict, and was there when SA finally caved in on itself. Missed the CA war, damn my ill-informed self for not noticing this game earlier. I can assure you all that I am not bitter in any sort of way and I will give fix the credit they deserve, they put up some damn good fights and my fondest memories of this game are fighting them. Still, you live in what seems an unsightly way, clinging onto the coat tails of an alliance who you say can dispose of any other alliance, you wear a safety belt for eve, youÆre not the first and certainly a formidable opponent, but because you are so formidable, you must be judged harshly.
For future quotes, I offer my most sincere apologies if my opinions turn out to be wrong.

EvilFlyingMonkey, For a guy that doesn't like FIX, and does judge us harshly, at least you back your feelings with solid reasoning for why it is you feel that way.
Taz, You're one of the few people that have been around long enough to know exactly where things began to go wrong with QDF/FIX and SA/SE/Coalition. Kind of like the same way CFS history continues to haunt FIX years after, our two groups have been locked into a repeating history. To understand what happened at the end of the CODA war, you have to understand where we were at: Most of the corps who wanted to move somewhere else in 0.0 and start fresh had already left, to form PURE. Many of our best PvP'ers had left to join Outbreak. And the ones who didn't have the stomach for a losing fight had left by dribs and drabs throughout the course of the war. So what was left was figuring on drawing back to the 3-F gateway and it's vicinity, and staging a guerilla war to keep fighting against CODA. And for the two weeks that CODA was fighting in 9CG against BOB, that's exactly what we did, racking up a few hundred kills on pilots trying to move between there and Empire. BOB was still shooting at us when we crossed paths, but not going out of their way to find us.
But FIX had one bargaining chip left: We still had 3 large POS's in 9CG, although we lacked the means to keep them from being put in Reinforced, we had managed to keep them from being knocked out, and fueled in spite of being shot at by *everyone*. CODA had two, BOB had one, no one could muster the force to either knock POS's out completely, or to put up more. That is when the deal with BOB was struck, while we still had the means to negotiate as equals. We took Sovereignty with our POS's, which BOB defended, and gave BOB docking rights, putting an end to the station ping-pong.
Did we give up the stations? Technically, we gave up 9CG after CODA folded like a wet paper towel, but the fact is that even if BOB had said "Here's your stations back, try not to lose them again" (and how would that have been less humiliating than the deal we made?), at that point we lacked the means to defend them. We weren't humiliated, we were humbled, but we still had our honor and our pride. BOB respected that, and we respected them. We needed time to rebuild, and the deal with BOB offered us that.
If BOB came to us and asked us to join them in their fight against ASCN, we'd probably do so, because it would be BOB coming to us as equals and asking for help, a status we have earned through the loss of many ships and our determination to rebuild. And if ASCN continues to treat us with contempt, we may do so on our own.
So keep in mind, we were *beaten*. Flat broke (I personally spent 2 billion isk in the last month of the war, and ended it with less than 100M). Lacking enough numbers at every level to defend Q even if we'd still owned it. But we'd gone down proud and swinging, and managed to retain the ability to influence and decide the battle for Querious. At that point, all we had left was our pride, and the stubborn refusal to accept any option that drove us out of Q for good.
So look down on us for living in BOB's shadow if you like. Try to create FUD in our relationship with BOB, hoping that by saying "BOB's Lapdogs" often enough you can influence our actions to be more to your liking. But know this: FIX chose our course with eyes wide open, and we don't care what people who never liked us think of our choice. Our friends understand, and we feel our honor is intact, so to hell with anyone who can't see it.

My young padawan, you might wish to look at this particular thread to give you a general history of the 3 southern regions of Q, Delve and Period Basis. History . Once you are done with that, I suggest you search the forums regarding BOB's standing reset, as well as some of the forum threads dealing with FIX encounters with BOB before the initial nap that came before the standings reset. Once you have done that if you have further questions, I will be happy to answer them. Until then, honestly, it would take an entire thread of me posting for 20+ pages to give you some insight into why our relationship with BOB is such as it is.

An alliance that actually worries about their opponents...
Quote:
BNC took a little time out of the fight to do a couple of other things, had a quiet couple of weekends on the trot and didn't hit FIX much at all. We actually started getting messages from FIX asking if we were ok and when would we be coming to visit again, they missed us! I've never had that from an opponent in Eve before now except the smacky "bring it you tards we're gonna own you" and that was certainly not the tone from FIX.
.. was bound to be interesting.

seems "average joe" rushes the facts here abit. The other posts document how the events happened. After the first Fix / BoB conflict they had positive standings and respect. At the standing reset they had no standings just respect and it came back to respect and positive standings in/after the coda conflict.
The standing reset was publically announced and fix was well aware of it before the eastern roadtrip which provided a nice 3 way battle between Stain / Fix and BoB.
As you said after a 30 bln loss it requires a class guy to say "fair game and good epic battle" (a point of view Fix offered in any battle they fought so far despite of the outcome for them) instead of mindless hatred fueled by an neverending desire to "pay back".
Most likely this attitude to enjoy fights and to congratulate your enemies on their victories made the difference between them and the Coda alliances. Which all had suffered the same fate. Beeing beaten up by bob and living the lie of "one day paying them back". As you can see most of their names dissappeared while Fix is still around. The reason might be that their existance violates the basic thought of eve. "get a kick in the butt, learn your lesson, have fun and rebuild elsewhere with a fresh start". Their mindset was more "get a kick in the butt and ponder your whole future existance how you can maybe pay them back and be bitter about your loss".

This is the most accurate version I have read so far in this post.
How do I know? I was there for the full 3 weeks running the CODA resupply gang from Badi to the front lines, and a number of times had to break up the Fix gate camps at 3-FK of which Mahrin was there nearly every time. It must also be noted that this action was the exception to the normal no show of any other Fix in the region.
Dunno exactly what the rest of this post is about, except the fact that ASCN are looking like they are trying to get anyone to help them fight Bobbits.
I would help you, alas I dont like ASCN, I dont like Bob or Fix either, but they have earnt respect (not including the forum) on the battlefield.
Oh 1 last thing, no ASCN flames or threats please, just check local I am there daily.

As one of the ppl that personally lost a few billion in that egg I don't have revenge in my heart at all. I wish I had 30 bil of my own to invest in a personal egg so we could repeat that fun. I have played EVE for 3+ yrs and those 26hr without sleep were the most fun I ever had in the game. Was it the fight vs HF/SA and whoever that jumped in 1st? Nah that threat went away too quickly. Was it when BOB attacked? OH YEAH... that was such a challenge that I was on the edge of my seat for hrs. I was sad when it popped but the pure fun of the fights with BOB made it #1 of my best EVE experiences.
Now back to what the OP was talking about in his post. I think it just seems weird that ASCN is going out of their way to drag BOB friends into a conflict vs them that we really don't have much of an interest in except it makes an enjoyable drama to watch. If they are hoping that attacking us time to time will hurt BOB and their income or something else that just brings me to fits of laughter. Good luck on that. I'm sure BOB isn't getting any help or loads of $$ from those you are attacking. Now if its to help ASCN maybe get some morale boosts from killing some of us I can maybe see that slightly but I think more focus on main probs would be best.
I like AXE and a few in ASCN. I 'personally' dont think attacking us will help in anyway but <shrug> do what you want.

1) As for the CODA wars and what happened with FIX and BOB before/then/after it, it`s their problem. If FIX likes or do not likes their current situation, it`s their problem and theirs alone. I was not involved then, but had many friends which were on both sides back then, and they all told me a different story (most agree FIX did/is doing well)
Also, have been asked... to ask about where to find a comprehensive story about the CODA wars. We are 12 people in my cyber who play EvE, 10 here played while the CODA happened, and they would like a place to where they can read a comprehensive story about it. (to compare notes, I guess)
2) As for the OP`s question/statement, and checking the link he has provided, I see no denigratory statement from Cyvok to FIX and/or to MC. I`ve been told that this was to prevent an incident that once occured because of a standings problem (blues shooting at you). One cannot be too cautious about it, as ASCN could not risk the possibility of a surprise attack, while still holding those alliances in blue (I think FIX was 2.5 before all this, don`t remember MC).
Would also like to point out that while, when talking/replying about the CODA wars, stop replying with an ¿ASCN, you have no idea¿ when you are replying to a guy on a random corp (not trying to offend anyone here, just stating that I see no ASCN talking crap about FIX here, but everyone is replying back as ASCN is behind all those posts!) As an ASCN fella said, no one from command has posted anything about FIX on the forums; calling them ¿lapdogs¿.
I also hope this thread does not derail into another ASCN/BOB thread, as we have more than enough read for a few months. To be honest I hate those threads, but this thread has been a welcome addition in the cyber, not because of the OP¦s position, but because of the dozens stories about the CODA wars. They have been a great topic of discussion here, gave us all a nice share of laughs, memories and tears. Mix all that with pizza and beer, and you have a night.
Disclaimer: As usual, I`m no one apart of someone interested on not having a new forum war. My view is my view alone, etc, etc. ------------------------------------ Have a sig you can sell me? Eve-mail me your work and we`ll talk business! ------------------------------------ |

I would have to reread the whole thread again but i do not remember any ASCN members calling us "lapdogs" I think that came from the FIX haters in this thread.
Your own official standings boards do refer to us as: (+) Firmus Ixion[FIX]-5.0BoB Slaves08-Oct-0615-Jul-06

Taz, You're one of the few people that have been around long enough to know exactly where things began to go wrong with QDF/FIX and SA/SE/Coalition. For us, things sort of went south in relations after the 3BK - MASS/COL thing, then ofc the first war after SA dropped our NAP due to boredom after CA disbanded (plus there were plenty of ex-CFS in SA by that point that would love a shot at FIX). It was difficult for FIX because up until that point, SA had looked like the shining knights of Eve fighting CA for so long.
FIX certainly didn't help either; we had managed to get things sorted out it looked like when G and Iron were hitting SA and we came to help SA. Then FIX had the particularily bright idea that we too were bored... go figure.
After that, we just couldn't seem to get things repaired... I honestly don't believe it matters at this stage though, after that it's turned into one of the more hardcore grudge matches Eve has seen. So much damage has been done I simply don't see a way that things could get patched up. SA/Coalition/SE, then finally CODA. By the time of the third major war, FIX wouldn't believe any negotiations would be made in good faith.
Ah well. Just history now.

In my estimation your E-peen isnt big enough to get into a ****ing contest with the folks your slinging mud at.
Edit- Addendum Notice* This is a pod pilots personal perception of the current situation and does not reflect the official opinion of aforementioned entities.
Actually now that I reread the ops post he does mention Quote: So I ask you Cyvok is this what you want? Do you really want to provide a catalyst and justification for us "Lapdogs" as you call us to pounce?
So it wasn't anyone in ASCN that refered to us in that manner as "Lapdogs" except for the Op saying that ASCN did and 'this' thread doesnt show that any ASCN do(maybe other threads or convos do that I do not know) only that ASCN official standing boards refer to us as "BOB slaves" instead... is one any better then the other? <shrug>
I just figure stick and stone will break my bones but names will never hurt me. So best to stock up on stick and stones then..

Originally by: Mahrin Skel To understand what happened at the end of the CODA war, you have to understand where we were at: Most of the corps who wanted to move somewhere else in 0.0 and start fresh had already left, to form PURE.
Our friends understand, and we feel our honor is intact, so to hell with anyone who can't see it.

.. comeon Taz, thats just wrong..
Lets look at FIX's big wars and how they ended.... so we can move on from the ancient history.
FIX/FA <> CFS/UFS - CFS dies within 2-3 weeks.
SE/BOB/Atuk <> FIX - Although Atuk and BoB weren't spearheading the war we had roaming BoB fleets at the same time as SE was trying to conquer our stations. FIX managed to keep its stations, only losing h74 for a few hours. I'm sorry but on this occasion SE had to beat a retreat, you lost every single fleet engagement against us... add to this that we had BoB and Atuk breathing down our neck too and its quite the achievement. At this time BoB and SE were BEST buddies. Trigger could do no ill in BoB's eyes. Atuk even started the war for you and gave you a causus belli. FIX had been marked for destruction... and we successfully fought you ALL off. FIX won that war categorically.. and it was the seed for the rest of the conflicts with SE/Coalition/CODA.
FIX <> Coaltition - Backdrop to this is our relationship with FA slowly going cold, whilst our relationship with BoB whom we were fighting kept getting better. In the end BoB and FIX become blue and blue and FA eventually dies. Note : BOB and SE/Coalition are still blue and blue too. FIX's western border is secure and Catch becomes a very interesting proposition for a military campaign.. It is held by the Coalition, whom we hated + FIX needed to grow. Bang.. we move in with 150 man fleet and catch the Coalition with its pants down. The next 3 or 4 months a war like no other rages in Catch for the FAT station... it was awesome tbh. However, FIX does start to run out of steam.. Leadership pulls (I gave the order) out of FAT mainly to teach FIX pilots a lesson.... the lesson is quickly learnt.. The Coalition will not stop at FAT they will come for Q too. Our gang participation shoots up to record highs again when The coalition take H74 briefly. FIX is ready to fight for FAT all over again... things are looking good.......BUT... this is where BoB steps in. BoB is now impatient for North vs South to start.... i.e all of the South must NAP. The Coalition <> FIX war took too long. BoB force the coalition and FIX to sign for peace ... OR ELSE. Both FIX and The Coalition (via Trigger, Molle and a FIX Council vote) accede to joining the Southern Alliance of Alliances. The Coalition cement this by actually joining SE again with Cujo as Emperor, which will actually lead later on to the SE civil war .. Conclusion: The result of that war was a draw, imposed on both parties by BoB.
FIX <> CODA war - K this is where my knowledge is a bit hazy but I will try... it starts off after North vs South was to put it mildly, a waste of bloody time that weakened FIX no end. I hated it and I think so did the rest of EVE, specially Commander Woodlouse To put it bluntly FIX needs a good ol' scrap again and so did SE and Huzzah wanted to make a name for itself. Through some minor issue about standings.. the same old war kicks off again. How it ended has been covered well enough in the rest of the thread....
So Taz... as you can see, you told a porkie
SE lost the first FIX <> SE war, BoB imposed peace on both parties in the FIX <> SE war.
And seeing as I have typed so much anyhow.. I'll say this :
I could not live under BoB's rule in Querious, I'd rather die. However, FIX's current membership is more pragmatic and believe that in the long run having BoB take care of the stations is a good move. You know, power to them. Does that make them lapdogs?
Honestly.. its too early to tell IMO, it really depends on what FIX does once they feel they are feeling strong again.

... mmm.. k in that case your original statement is vague to the point of being meaningless... (I say that with no ill intention)...
Bar the CFS war, all major wars that FIX has fought have been touch and go (i.e they could have gone either way).... but only at the end of the CODA war did BoB step in after FIX had lost the war.
And its worth noting that BoB didn't save FIX, they simply took over Querious.. and cut a deal so that FIX could safely rebuild.
I think its a grave mistake here to think that BoB has acted out of anything but self-interest in terms of the Querious situation.
FIX has been close to going under in all the wars its had against SE/Coalition/CODA.. it was a close call everytime. But only in the CODA war did BoB intervene directly against CODA.. and it did so because CODA via OrcA had practically declared war on them, remember that going into the CODA war BoB and SA were still blue on blue......this is crucial.
In the Coalition War, BoB forced both sides to come to the negotiating table so that North vs South could take place.
So I reiterate.. your original stament is misleading and vague to the point of being meaningless, perhaps purposefully so...

Actually BOB stepped in when it was just SA and Huzzah v Fix, we had jus taken FAT.
As for all the people who say ORC A decided upon himself to take on bob, your jus kidding yourself, I mean common... did everyone in SA say lets not fight bob, lets get back to those roids we have all been missing... somehow I doubt it, if it was like that SA would of broke apart there and then or at least ORC A would have been kicked. Nearly everyone in SA wanted to be shooting fix, and no one liked how bob had stepped in, war is why we play this game, we where about to invade querious, the good part was about to begin and most of us thought it was being taken away from us.
As for the CODA war... coda was formed when bob joined in the fight at 9CG when the last fix pos were put into reinforced. Before that it was mainly SA and Huzzah again with some smash and others coming in to take stations as neither SA nor Huzzah wanted to control Querious.
It still amazes me how much smack is directed at that battle which came about on a whim and loads of players came from many different areas to have a good fight. I don't think many will deny that it was a good fight indeed, but coda was not there for the long run.

Those that have had you gasping for air are the ones I'm refering to.
... mmm.. k in that case your original statement is vague to the point of being meaningless... (I say that with no ill intention)...
Bar the CFS war, all major wars that FIX has fought have been touch and go (i.e they could have gone either way).... but only at the end of the CODA war did BoB step in after FIX had lost the war.
And its worth noting that BoB didn't save FIX, they simply took over Querious.. and cut a deal so that FIX could rebuild.

Edited by: Mahrin Skel on 28/10/2006 20:17:27 I had another long rebuttal ready to go, but in deference to Manfred's request to let the thread die, I'll leave it at this: Overall, when I look at who hates us versus who respects us (even if we're red to each other), I'm much more concerned with the opinions of the latter. FIX has a history of putting our foot in it, then pulling through out of sheer dogged stubborn refusal to quit. We are the "already dead", we are samurai, and I'm proud to be a part of that.
