We're currently speaking to the Dev Team and trying to bring you a Sitrep on the current Issues with TQ.
Spamming this thread mindlessly will get you nowhere, but on the bad side of CRC.
Please keep responses constructive, and refrain from spamming.
As soon as we know what the issue is, the playerbase will too.

Some of us need rehab, or servers online. I dont care either one, i would be less ****ed if my ship just spontaneously combusted!

I didn't consider my earlier message spam but it was deleted anyway. My suggestion would be that CCP actually give a warning that things may not go smoothly with the new server equipment and people should keep long skills in training for the forseeable future. SO that trusting eejits like myself don't jump on as soon as server is up and change to a short-term skill. Now I probably should be smart enough to be aware of this myself but I am an Eve newb and took CCP at its word.

Agreed. Although annoyed the server is down, it makes me laugh at the two-faced nature of some of the people who play this game. They whinge almost immediately at the slightest problem yet are more than happy to kiss backside when all is well.
Good luck to the Devs to find out which Mimatar slave/hamster is slacking on the server...;)

What I am actually wondering about is: why does this sticky appear in General Discussion; I'd say that Known issues & workarounds is a better place for this.

aye, seems like when they patch they usually do give a warning about unexpected problems, but I don't think they did this time. Kind of a bummer, but now you know, crashes after upgrades are common around here

sooo.. can someone explain to me what constructive responses are available for a game that has lagged so bad for the last 6 months that at times it's almost unplayable, that has had "updates" and "patches" that have made it even more unplayable?

If CCP advises to set a long skill training, they mean it; there is always the chance that issues creep up after a software or hardware upgrade. Don't change your skill for a shorter one directly after TQ comes up again. I myself have set a 15 day skill and will only change it after the weekend.

Basic rules for major upgrades/content additions for ALL MMO's:
1. server will go down early 2. take however long the server was supposed to be down, and add 50% 3. random crashes for next week while they remove Mr. Murphy with a hatchet.

May I also say that it is the height of naivity to put up a sticky about the server going down and not expect people to jump on it to complain. It would be far better to have it as a locked sticky that the mods unlock when they have new information on situation.

Well, hoping that this counts as constructive:
One way to head off all the people complaining about having paid for this game and not getting their money's worth: promise them you'll reimburse them for this one lost day of gameplay. Even though the update went faster than you thought, it looks like more than 24h of gameplay have already vanished.
Which is fine, I'd love to see the lag go down and the database response go up. It's worth a bit of a wait, but all the same, crediting the players for a day would be a decent gesture if the trouble keeps up for long.
Good luck in finding it, fixing it and executing the person responsible, as seems to be the custom ;)
Greetings, Grismar.

If we're tracing the route to the server is it normal for it to timeout one jump from somewhere in london?
Final entry on the trace is on the ip
195.50.91.22
After that it vanishes, could this be the providers being punks again?
