White wolf kick ass. It'd be awesome if they took over the back story.

This could really advertise Eve in different ways. If we have Eve graphic novels, all the local manga fanboys will be exposed to it. Novels could be distributed to librarys exposing it to Science Fiction junkies.

Seems logical to assume that white wolf will create the shooter part of the planetary exploration thing... since they have made lots of 3D games before.

This looks like a very good thing.
These guys seem to be great with the roleplaying aspect of it, immersion will greatly improve, at least that's what I'm getting out of this speech.
Also, this frees up resources for the game, which is very good.

So CCP gets W.O.D. online. More kay-boom news. This is awesome in the respect that the company is no longer a single "ip". Now we hope they don't derail into some other game companies we've seen get "big".

This sounds kinda wrong ... I'd like to hear some official reasoning behind this (and not the PR version). From the perspective of someone interested only in EVE online (and not the CCG stuff), this is worrying, as the focus of the resulting company will not be EVE online alone.
I don't see any opportunities for synergy (only a small part of the EVE community will be interested in pen&paper RPGs and novels and the EVE player base won't increase due to this, since EVE isn't lacking in marketing, it's the lag and imbalances which scare off new players), so unless CCP needed the money, I can't explain this.

The companies aren't going to merge corporate locations. CCP will still be working on the computer game in Iceland, whereas White Wolf will focus on the RPG portions from their old US corporate headquarters.

It isn't lacking in marketing? I live in Norway, and I've seen ZERO EVE-O ads. ZERO retailers selling the game. And so on. On the other hand, I know a lot of people who read sci-fi novels and manga. This might get them interested in the game. So yeah, the player base might increase. ----------------------------------- Rawr. awrarawr! |

White Wolf will be handling the IP section of Eve, it will not affect the game whatsoever. CCP now just has a huge amount of additional resources and experience being added to their IP products such as the CCG, any RPG's and etc... ----- Im in ur Chicago wearing dresses at night. |

I approve, good to see CCP re-focusing on EVE. As for making a second game, it'd be inevitable, but I think they're a ways off from doing it.

And thus the first part of "ccp sells out... the fanfest" should include an " at" instead of the dots.
I give this 80% chance to end in the trashcan and a mere 20% to turn into something good.
Basicly, it will turn into to much things that are "eve" and who will buy thoose siderelated eve things? Who will buy an eve rpg? An eve ccg? an eve boardgame? *cough* the fans already playing eve o *cough* spacerpgs? Already out there. CCG? Plenty out there. Boardgames? All out there...
I wont hold my breath for this mergers success.

White Wolf develop the RPG aspects of EvE and from that comes the ideas for content for stuff like planetary inhabitation and faction warfare on a cosmic scale.
Get the history and content right by letting the players develop it themselves.
Awesome
