Somehow, I don't expect to see anywhere near that number in this contract. Wonder why... GL everyone. Seriously, it's not that great being an amarr, is it?

So i guess MC wont be shooting LV or V if they get in the way. I'm just suprised you'd result is hiring mercs to help you kill RA/goons.
Should be fun for RA, goons, TCF, IAC, IMP, TNT and MC.

VI/LV are so dominant they figured they were above fighting goons themselves anymore....
I knew you guys were full of sh*t, but wow...
Wait what? You really think that -V-/L hired MC to just sit in the station and ignore the problem?
Isnt it ironic that RA/Goons already brought a Merc Corp into the fray but yet when the other side does the same, its blasphemous?
Just seems like RA/Goon/Tau/Whoever are happy using whatever they can to gain the upper edge, but whenever the same tactics are used against them they cant handle it - getting burnt by the fire they started.
The contract may not even be to kill RA/Goons, maybe just to flush the hostile POS's out of the region, not many are informed about this, so just wait and see

Well, I guess I wish MC luck for a successful contract. However I hope there's a lot of kills on both sides to make for an interesting report!
As for "resorting to mercs"; personally I think coming from RAGOON and friends is rather much a joke considering KIA's "contract". However, I do remember way back when in the V/5 vs The North wars when MC and Battle angels was hired against us(V/5), I remember it being a good old fight; but I also remember the amount of times we (V) said "there's no way we'd ever need or want to hire mercs, we want the fights, and we want our victory to be our own" - maybe not exactly that, but it was more or less the collective V opinion.
So in that regards, it's kind of sad to see this happen, I know V isn't the same alliance it was a year ago, but it is the same name I was very proud to be part of, and there are ever so many pilots that are still in V that are awesome and still have the same old school views! (Even if it wasn't V who hired mc, they surely knew about it).
Anywho, GL MC, and even GL RAGOON - especially Komolov and the Goons that entertained me so much on Burn Eden's TS

Think one year ago V didn't have to care about their own conquerable stations and outposts, had to deal with 100+ blobs day and night and wasn't under fire by 5 alliances. V was attacking without much to defend. That's fun. Then the boring stuff started, the pos war, like spending the night after night in c-j and f7a in gate camps, because of sovereignty and poses. And now we have to deal with similar stuff in our own home in Scalding Pass, but we are defending against a much bigger enemy force.
So yes, -V- isn't the same anymore, but we are still there and fighting, although the fun factor has dropped a lot due to the POS stuff. We could also have said: 'Bleh, pos war isn't fun anymore, we go back to npc space and keep doing fun stuff based out of there.' That would have been the easy way. After spending countless hours/nights around poses and dealing with 25 vs. 100+ situations in the middle at the night around some poses, I think I have the damned right to look forward to MCs contract.
Like I said, the easy way for me would have been leaving. I would have earned a lot more somewhere else and could have been doing fun stuff all the time. But I'd see it as a personal defeat, so I can't. I'm still married with V: ... in good times and in bad times ...
( And there are people, who put a lot more effort into it: The fleet commanders, the high council members etc. )

-v- had to change because its facing a lot of enemies or is it facing a lot of enemies because it changed? Perhaps a bit of both eh? Anyway good luck and all my love guys.

IMP and TCF were always RA-friendly. Now they needed a new home and so they have been invited to the train. Goonfleet needed a new home too and got invited by RA. That's almost all. Imho with KoS went something wrong, but they don't really fight us. And well IAC, we visited them for a few fun ops. Maybe that's enough for them to hop on the bandwaggon, too. But they have seen our ore, so maybe that's the real reason. Unlimited mining rights from RAGoon or so.
So yes, to answer your question, the enemies that play a role would have appeared imho, no matter if V had changed or not. The only real way around that would have been defeating RA before it could happen, but it's not that we didn't try that.

Reason #2 .... you just bandwagoned with LV when they decided to shoot IAC. Funnily enough you were more action than talk compared to LV, and far more fun to skirmish with.
Reason #3 .... -V- accepted Tyrell Corp into their ranks. IAC will forever hunt any alliance than harbours them. FuzzyNut Attack Squirrels now have a drunken bunch of gate crashers incoming. Choo Choo!
Reason #4 .... All our neighbours are blue and IAC loves the shoost.

Mercs are there to be used, don't balme V (assumption) one bit for bringing in MC.
That said, MC are in for a hell of a ride, this will be a real test. KIA have been down there in that conflict for a month, and both sides are raising hell, MC will take losses, and they will be very quickly introduced to the front lines, if they intend on helping in Scalding Pass etc... it is a blood bath.
It will be very interesting to see if they are going to deploy their capital ships..... personally against RA there is no way KIA would, but MC have 3x the cap fleet KIA have, so god damn that will be some epic battles.
As I have maintained from our (brief) experience in the Southern war, V were on a one way street to defeat, they desperately needed to do something different, and they desperately needed new ideas and new tactics and a new impetous, MC will bring that and a whole lot more. (just my opinion.... i know it causes flames, but it is a sincere opinion born from experience, not meant to berate or disrespect)
Well done to the V leadership (I am assuming, I don't know for sure) for stepping up to the plate, you may have just given yoursleves a fighting chance.
Gonna be a hell of a month down there.... Revelations idd.

We all know that MC like impossible missions, so it will be a very challenging fight for them, IĈm sure this was one of the reasons they accept this contract. Any way CCP pls be sure and backup the nodes for RYC, KZF, 1V and C-J6 because it will be a test for the servers first and then for those players who fight there, what we could expect when we gone have 250+ players in local, GL MC and welcome to the party..

I don't think it'll be taken as a flame. As you point out, given your experience at trying to hold space, its pretty natural for you to predict defeat.
