MC works on a ISK destoryed versus ISK lost system - better in guaging affectiveness for clients etc

Yeah I don't quite get how these numbers work. MC kill 522.94M, lose 420M. That is not an efficiency of 55.46%. Those numbers show the MC lost ~80% ISK value of the ISK they destroyed. That isn't really an efficiency. Efficiency would have to be a measure of how much ISK was destroyed compared to how much the client paid, and should effectively be measured as % over 100% - i.e. ISK for ISK - that the MC destroyed.
Because this is what you want mercenaries to do in an attrition campaign - to destroy a lot more then you paid them.
EDIT: Actually the conclusion there is wrong. 100% efficiency would be pretty good. But that 55% efficiency figure must mean the client paid something like 1 billion ISK for the contract to mean anything - i.e. for 1 billion ISK he bought himself 55% of that ISK of his enemy destroyed.

Enough about that damn kill board! Considering that it was just turned on a couple days ago, some of our members don't even know about it yet, our old contracts have yet to be imported, half the values on it are frakked and the feature set is still being worked on.... this is very vauge because if you use material cost of the items, you dont really gauge anything.
killing 100 cruisers while losing 17 hac's, you killed about 700 mio market value while you lost about 4 billion market value.

Formula is quite simple:
add total losses in the war together: 522.94+420=942.94
MC inflicted of those total losses 522.94 / 942.94 = 55.46%.
It is 'a' way to measure success, though of course with a lot of issues regards valuation of ships, pods, modules etc.
If you're talking about longer conflicts between somewhat similarly outfitted forces it should be valid enough though and of course every method imaginable has flaws.

I think people are reading a bit to much into the stupid efficiency ratio thing. The isk values etc are always wrong on every bloody board you look at and we could all argue about it all day....
