5x Heavy Neutron Blaster II, 1x Heavy Ion Blaster II, 1x Small diminishing nosferatu, or a salvaging device ---------------------------------------------- 1x Y-t8 overcharged hydrocarbon MWD 1x Fleeting Propulsion webby 1x Fleeting warp scrambler 1x Medium Elechtrochemical Cap injector/800's ---------------------------------------------- 2x MAR II's 2x EANM II's 1x Armor Explosive Hardener II 1x Internal Force Field Array ---------------------------------------------- 5x Vespa II's
You can take the MWD off and fit a tech2 10mn ab, and fit another heavy neutron blaster II, and after that fit either an Ion or heavy electron, never really tried the AB setup that much, Also void works good but against frig's it doesnt hit all the time, even with a webby, but cruiser or larger it rips them apart FAST.

i would fit 1 or 2 mag stabs to astarte. Because the strongest point of this ships is to gank !

also fit 7 guns instead of 6. Because 1 gun does more damage then 1 medium nos, and 1 nos will not help much with your tank

Try: 7x Ion IIs MWD II, med cap injector, web and scram 2x medium rep II, EANM II, passive exp, dmg control and a mag stab.
5x valk drones.
It does leave a bit of grid, so you could use a nuetron or two, i like the extra tracking.... and having all guns the same tho

Just about the same setups as above, except i put an explosive rig and a Cap rig on mine. Just wondered if anyone else has good ideas for Rigs on this ship?? Also some times i like to put 7x 250rails on with the 3 mag stabs just for a bit of fun:))

I'm looking into setting up an Astarte within the next couple weeks and so far I think I have a pretty good idea as to what I'm going to be fitting onto it.
I reall love the range, burst, and low ammo consumption of the t2 Heavy Nuetrons so I want to get a full rack of those in the highs.
High: 7x Heavy Nuetron
Mids are pretty much a given...
Mids: YT-8 MWD, Electro Chemical Cap booster, Fleeting Web, Fleeting Warp Scram (20k)
Lows seems pretty standard as well.
Lows: 2x MARII, 1x Energized Explosive II, 1x EANMII, 1x 58% DCU, 1x MFSII
And the kicker is really the rigs because this won't fit unless you have 1 t1 grid rig and AWU 5.
Rigs: 10% grid, 15% rep ammount.

Very true, i now use:
6x Ion II, 1x Neutron II 1x MWD, 1x Cap booster, 1x web, 1x scram/sensor booster 1x MAR II, 1x Corpum-A, 1x EANM II, 1x DC II, 1x active exp harderner II, 1x MFS II
and to top it off 2x auxillary nano-pumps.
5x valkyries II

3rd mag stab is so stacked with penalty that it isnt usefull anymore..
this ship is good at ganking, so your main objective is to kill it before it kills u..
altough, me and my friend, both in astartes picked on one typhoon..we had problems killing it..he hold us for 2,5minutes until his 25gang support arrived..at least we finished him off, no tanking setup could help after that..
replace 3rd mag stab for another MAR II or cap relay..

In response to the posts about the gank astarte, it's fun, deals some damage but I am going on a point of a mostly solo pirate. Solo pvp for that matter really, when going that way I see it best to fit all tank in the lows seeings how your the only one thats going to be fired upon. Althoguh I can see the damage side setup working well in a bigger gang, just full boat gank.
Also now that they have DCU II's now makes tanking even better, Btw My setup has changed since this last post, I don't use a MWD, it gets to a point where you sacrifice to much cap which is desperately needed at times to benefit your tank, not only that but you can fit more guns.
Jerick, what you could try with 2 damage rigs is a fullboat of Ion's, faster fire, less power demand, less cap demand and better tracking, with the damage rigs you could still fit a desired setup in your other slots and dish out serious dps. With the ROF, and tracking difference it may be better to just fit the Ions with the damage rigs, just something to try on the test server first and see how it works.

Edited by: Djerin on 22/02/2007 23:32:42 No clue about missions. I don't do that. Anymore.
But i think it's a waste to put multiple reppers on an astarte. You're wasting it's bonuses. Astarte is meant to deal very heavy damage. If you want to heavily tank you're better of with a myrmidon.
And to the other one saying astarte "being nice in bigger gang": now lol, in big gangs astarte actually sucks. Unless you happen to drop right on top of your target you spend most of your time travelling. And by "right on top" i mean like 5km away. In fact astarte pwns much more in small gangs. This is because your target wont be dead before you arrive. But it will be when you do.

Nice mission ship - Yes. Probably better off with any tier BS but it will do the job well. Great fun with blaster set ups but dangerous. Best to fit 7 x rails and you have more survivability then.

well i have just found a great setup. I have now got some "Hustler Neutron" Blasters in the top, and they do better damage than my tech 2 Ions. So now have 7x Hustlers(the fitting is really low compared to normal Neutrons) Mid same as most , Low 2 x DB reppers and 2 x repper rigs on with 2 TS adaptives a Explosive hardner and a DCU2.It tanks mental, and does ok damage now:)) Hope this helps with the idea of Neutrons on the top. i think they are 28 PG less than Tech 2 Neutrons.which is alot if u multiply that by 7!!

well i have been gone for about 6months on eve. but i would still say a 1600mm plate is required down there
1600mm tungston = 5250HP (more if in gangs ect)
1x med rep = 48.88HP a sec with astarte skill
time to pay off = 107seconds. and the plate doesnt use any cap
i would say, start with.
1600mm tungston. 2x dmg mods t2. 1 med t2 rep. 2x energized t2. named mwd, 20km, 90% web, medium electro cap inj with 800s
then fill the highs with the biggest guns you can

This is like saying that putting a MWD on a Deimos is waste... just because the Command ship skill is aiming at gank doesn't mean you should ignore the BC skill. Dual rep + BC V skill + T2 tank is nice. 2x MAR IIs with the bonus is more than a LAR II, plus T2 resistance tank.
By all means go for a gank setup with MFS IIs etc., but dual rep makes use of the bonus twice. Go for single rep and watch the look of surprise on the BS pilots face as your Astarte drops far quicker than expected.
