I've been thinking about it a LOT, and I have come to a simple conclusion to a lot of the problems currently happening: Reset the clock.
If you reset everything, titans and supers would be years away from reach for everyone, alliances and groups would reset, and the whole thing would be a healthy reboot IMO.

I think this would be incredibly fun if it happened. It would be a bit like the time BOB was disbanded by the goonies, everyone and their dogs rushing towards Delve to take it. No-one knowing that the outcome would be. It would seriously change 0.0 politics.
But... after a few weeks I would grow tired of training the same basic skills again so would probably just quit. |

As always when these threads pop up, nope. However I would support a US server for US and Pacific players. Conn problems have always been an issue for many players in these parts. It would have been far more lucrative than making that server for China. Will they ever? Doubt it, but more likely than to ever just wipe the existing servers. Why would I doubt CCP would ever make another server? Look at the other games they have made or are making, on limited platforms for a limited player-base. If they put one in the US, it would make EVE less limiting, so won't happen no matter the 1 server marketing PR which they really abandoned when making the Chinese server.

wouldn't segregating the game make it even more dead though? isn't that an issue we deal with now?
i feel like if we reset the server people would be more willing to head out of high sec, and the population outside of highsec would be much more healthy until we hit a plateau again in (what, 10 ) years? |

The server is already fractured, it's not really one server and hasn't been that way for years. A lot of US players don't play due to the distance issues, it can be really bad at times. US time zones PCU is low, it all peaks Europe time. Europe would have the same issues trying to connect to a US/Pacific server. Many in the US are well invested in the London server already, so likely PCU there would not take much of a hit, especially during the regular peak times. BTW, how come I'm getting the feeling this thread is padded with agreeing alts hehe
But yeah, some would play the server since it being a fresh server, though the years of investment on the existing server would keep most on the London server. But overall between the two servers, subscriptions would increase. But like I said, doubt they would ever do it. A wipe would never happen though, CCP could loose a lot of accounts.

It will never happen. A huge chunk of the older player base will quit then. I spent a decade building my SP, assets, and what I have. It gets reset I am gone. This isn't the type of game you just "reroll a new toon" and grind it up.
A substantial chunk of players would be done with game if that happened, and I highly doubt CCP has any desire to reset all things. Ive spent years training skills, even when AFK from game to keep it going so when I returned I could do more than when i left. |

Don't cryyyy, bro it'll be alright I've played on Aussie servers, and a lot of Aussies play on US/West Coast server, PVP too. It's why I mentioned US/Pacific. It's a hell of a lot better idea than wiping the London server, which would cause a lot of long time players to walk away from EVE for good. Usually though, these suggestion seem to come from people bored with WoW and see EVE as a game they are way behind on so want it wiped for their own enjoyment, at least until the next WoW expansion when they become less bored anyway. edit: or maybe in this case NC getting whooped as suggested by the CODE guy +1

Yes, a lot of Aussies play on US based servers, mostly because we have very few dedicated games servers in Australia that aren't Counter Strike or Call of Duty.
And again, we lag on those US servers horribly compared to the lag you get. We just learn to deal with it.

And again, we lag on those US servers horribly compared to the lag you get. We just learn to deal with it. hmmm... I don't know about that Mr. forum alt. I use to do really well even on dial-up to AUS servers, yes haha mostly playing CS. As for lately, I played a bit of GW2 at launch (since I played GW1) which has it's server in California, and there are a ton of people playing from Australia. A couple in our guild (now deceased guild of course as is the game) and really had no big issues with the server, nothing more than the rest of us had. We'd WvW a lot, they always kept up, maybe they lied and were not really from AUS? Our Pac connections are usually OK, just like I played UO on the Pac server, lots of Australians among the rest.
As for myself, I'm not complaining if that's how you are taking it, but I know a lot of people won't deal with it, especially in a pvp setting. But for some really odd reason, CCP puts a server in China breaking their 1 server thingy, while the money would seem to be in US/Pac. I just see it as a good business move, or would have been, certainly better than a server wipe, Mr. Alt.

This.
China pretty much don't let foreign companies do anything in their country without a Chinese based sponsor/front. Everyone in China has to go through the Chinese version of the company for political/tax reasons, so for games this means they have their own servers. This is also roughly the same reason why Google, Facebook and a whole range of other common online businesses are blocked in China.
Pretty sure CCP would love to have China join the rest of TQ but just can't for legal reasons in some regions (ie political reasons).
As an AU player I'd love to see how it would change up the TZ if we had China join TQ. |

Yes, a lot of Aussies play on US based servers, mostly because we have very few dedicated games servers in Australia that aren't Counter Strike or Call of Duty. And again, we lag on those US servers horribly compared to the lag you get. We just learn to deal with it. Alt.
I always suspected the real reason behind the seperate Chinese server was to isolate the gold farming.
As for Aussie internet, if people are silly enough to vote in a government that believes you can get good internet over fencing wire strung through the gum trees and that only hackers and pirates have a need for fast internet anyway they deserve what they get :D

It may actually be agood idea. If EVE was reset it would get huge press coverage, and a lot of new players may be encouraged to start playing.
It would also be a good way to get rid of all of those outposts in nullsec and begin the game fresh with citadels and an empty null to conquer for various groups.
Outposts should have been destructable from the beginning; now to fix the mess a reset to the beginning would be a good solution.
I'll lose a lot of stuff if they reset it, but then so will everyone else. If you built stuff up once you can do it again and do it better if you choose. |

What say the general eve community? Are you a politician? Because thats the laziest and most narrow-minded and most superficial solution i can think of for EVEs problems. Thats even worse than the "treating symptoms" approach.
You are basically saying this: problem: the "endgame" content has flaws and is not working well solution: reset the game every few years so that no one reaches the endgame |

tl;dr the only way i would be ok with a rest of eve is if it was via an EVE2. As in they were behind the scenes doing a complete rewrite in a different engine with new graphics, mechanics, and the like. and they closed EVE and started EVE2 fresh. But it would have to be a totally different game. Because i honestly like the history and ups and down of the story lines in eve and find a reset to be stupid.
I don;t know about you, but when i go work for a company, i don;t complain that they guy who started there 10 years before me makes more money then i do and is in a higher position then i am.

Resetting is not an option. But the thread still has potential! With all the knowledge anchored in the playerbase right now, it would be interesting to hear what people would choose as an income source IF a reset happened.
What skillpaths would be rushed, which pve activities would see most frequent use, what steategic decissions are made in order to secure the biggest share of the pie.
If you can point out the good opportunities, you automatically point at things that maybe need to be balanced. |

I think there is a singularity between people who believe a reset will 'help' them (or the situation in general) and things like Fozzie sov (that's supposed to "open up" opportunities for the previously disenfranchised "small guy"and other changes CCP has made or wanted to make.
Some people have the idea that "I want to do things, but I can't because of this unfairness, if only this injustice didn't exist, I would shine!" lol. What really happens is that when you remove all these 'barriers' you find the same people who succeeded in the past end up succeeding again (because success is a part of who they are and how they think) and the people who failed in the past (and blamed it on the barriers) keep failing.
This is why CCPs attempts to "open up the game" have failed, the kind of person who will continue to play EVE past the trial would have continued under almost any circumstances, people who quit would have quit anyway.
I actually saw this happen in real life, a guy working for my organization claimed that a few policies we had were all that was holding him back. So he ends up working for another organization that doesn't have the same restrictions....and still hasn't made any progress (and is now blaming it on a new set of conditions...conditions that didn't exist in the original organization lol).
In the exact same time frame I've been promoted twice, because the things that guy thought were barriers , weren't lol btw
The environment and circumstances matter sure, but at the end of the day, whether one experiences success or failure is fundamentally internal, not external. A Reset of EVE Online would just be confirmation of the fact that some people suck at gaming and others don't. We already know this lol. |

I think there should be more and more meaningful choices in the game, not less.
The hate between HiSec and Null players is a great driving factor in the game. Why not seperate it a bit more to drive that?
Imagine the more sov your alliance holds, the bigger of an actual empire you become in EvE. I mean you go out there leaving your former empire masters to go out on your own. You have absollutely no contracts with CONCORD for protection. At some point you should be seen as a threat by the old 4 empires.
Make it so with increasing sov comes increased gain in your space, like triple or quadruple what we have now (lore wise you could argue the little pirate patrolling done in null to keep things semi in check are stopped and pirates go berzerk in your space, you get invaded by Drifters, etc...). But also start restricting those people from HiSec (no more gateguns for you in low, Navy starts shooting at you on sight, at goon level empires you will get instaconcordokened in jita). Bettering null infrastructure should go hand in hand with restricting the respective safety in hi. Big empires should strife to have their own market hubs. This would open up a lot of infrastructure to attack, but only once you got big enough to handle that. Smuggling goods from hisec tradehubs would become a profession (of alts ofc (but those alts would not be in alliance and thus cant help in fozziesov), but also people that take it as a job). |

You harp on and on and on about how you see the world. Form a cult, write some self help books or something and make some money out of all that useless effort.
Why does some random internet guy's post about the obvious nature of things irritate you? It says a lot that you would rather read my posts (that you know you won't like) and respond uselessly rather than use the ignore function.
If you were the kind of person to examine your own thoughts (before speaking them...), you'd realize what your reaction to my postings mean about yourself. To put it bluntly, if my posting on a video game board about personal responsibility, self reliance and the need to know one's self before criticizing others bothers you, it might mean there is something wrong with you.
Of course making snarky jealousy posts every time I post simple observations would be way easier than that though... |

So the thought never occurs to stay away from places that do year round Christmas carols and/or fish markets?

I wish to avoid creating bias peraonally so have not read any replies. Following is own opinion directly responded to OP.
Reset? No.
From a player view. I do not have an ALT team. I am betting many players dont. Most MMO, nobody is interested in multibox. As such, I have seven unbroken years of skill training. Think I have any intention of starting back over? I can have fun in most everything from T1 to supers if I chose. Why would I want to play if I am back to not being able to do my high end of PVP?
The tools and game design is very open for new players and veterans to interact and work together in an enjoyqble manner. Problem is, the ideal role for new players is not of any use. Ewar, tackle remote boosts? Low sp to train means perfect for newbs to do something with great effect. These utilities can use extremely cost effective ships making for easy supply by veterans.
We do not need or want server reset. What we need is mechanics that make non blob combat (promote independent squads in fleet fights) to have room and benefit to ewar and non logistics support. Complexity will help offset inflation and improve player retention. At same time, will move more towards the cruisers being bread and butter in fleets with capitals being strategic resources. Done right, it will not eliminate current gameplay options.
Reset and one year from now will just be exactly where we are now, just with far fewer independent and small corp players. Sure, not cap fleets, but a few guys will easily out pace majority and chery pick it all. |

Aurure wrote:Resetting is not an option.
The isk factor. That is the key point. Bounties and reward ate the only way isk enters. Rich from market and materials only are so because some point, somebody is getting isk without investment. That is simply due to rates of cetain incomes being too high. If income rates were slower, main markets would be low value and low margin items. To balance eve but still offer progression, eve mechanics led themselve on lower end of endame isk income to being about 20-100+ MIL per hour of gameplay per toon. As such, late game players need to be losing that or similar minus 10-20% to still feel progression and get shinies.
However, pvp lends itself to battle avoidance with losses rare. On high end of earnings, players with multiple toons paying onto one means just impossible to control isk levels. Hoarding is a form of isk sink though at least. But this high level does remove competiton and therefore, challenge.
End result is on the isk generation side, isk=/=risk. Scripted nature and predictability eliminates most chance of loss. So isk equals more isk. In old incursion debate, they are so scripted that it is expected to fly expensive to maximize earning rates. Risk so low for most that potential loss is not a factor in your earnings. We just generate way too much isk. Net generation rate slower would make player skill more relevant as it would reduce minimum SP requirements for an effective fleet. Lower cost ships more common. |

Is actually something I agree with you on that. People speak and think differently, so it stands to reason we have our on linguistic touches and attitudes that come across the keyboards. Like all things, people misinterperate it. WIthout tone, text is even easier to do this.
So yeah, you post something and people call you out on it, their call out means nothing if they don't have a substantiated why as to the reason for calling you out.
Good example is the good ol incursion rant threads. People identify a problem but apply a solution that is based entirely on their need, not the target of the feature. Can say it is a bad idea, or point out/debate why it is. If somebody is saying you are a ____ persona, well they should back it up. The rest of us forum people will not reply if there is no substance and said person who is "all about me" will just fade away. |

I don't think a complete reset will ever work because this game relies some much on the players who have played for years. A partial reset might work if it is somehow tied to massive gameplay changes that some how justify the reset.
But, we need to keep something from our years of playing this game, which I would suggest would be our total skill points. Losing isk and assets would be far easier to accept than losing everything.
But there has to be some in game change that really justifies something this massive. Resetting just because some have become bored isn't a valid reason. There would need to be more effort to fundamentally alter that game that most would still accept.
That would not be easy.

Yep, as those alliances with their website membership would not be wiped. It'd take them a day to reorganize and then overwhelm. Meanwhile most corps and some alliances would be in bewilderment for weeks, or just not exist any longer.
Not sure what you mean about movement, if you mean like some people asking over the years for loop-d-loops and point to shoot, that would be broadband only and wind up dropping most players not around the London server. If it were that and a reset, I'd say CCP would be lucky to retain 10% of it's current player-base if even that. They run UDP I'm pretty sure, as most mmo's do as the best protocol for this purpose. Turning up UDP response would just be insane, maybe 200 max in a system. I don't think even tidi could compensate. DUST would probably retain more players than EVE.

Surprisingly interesting insight into mindset. After the alliance headshot on Cascade Imminent, I was for a short while in a what is the point mindset. I mean there was a group of power players that were for all intents and purpose, invincible. The power projection was just too great. I held it not against those guys. I mean they worked hard to build up to what they had and were playing appropriately.
TEST, respect on that headshot.
But at the same time, it was limiting gameplay. Hence the revitalization of how sov works. It angered many people, but now Nullsec is able to support a larger density and over time, it can be expected to increase vitality and the dynamics. In addition. The changes that make mobile front lines instead of just a hotdrop sniping enhances small alliance abilities and what I hope for, actually bring in a necessity for neutral parties. That is a discussion for another topic.
So point being? Reset, no. But addressing why there is a (small) call for a reset? Yes. |

Not my play style. That goes to other topics as well. Limited alternatives mean limited player base. Sides, back then I was also trolling goon space, as well as before and after. My isk came from exploration, my systems of choice were goon ones. I loved it when a big wack of ships would show up trying to find me, and then rant on forums of AFK cloaker. Or even more, when ratters would dock up.
But that was a side effect of what I was doing. The interceptor run and kite and disrupt would be fun at first, but very boing quite quickly. Sides, if they wanted the system, what would they care about an interceptor buzzing about in a ratting system during a CTA?

The mentality you're describing is a major problem in real life; half the political spectrum is devoted to removing "barriers" to people's success, then inventing new barriers to remove in order to keep the gravy train going.
In real life people at least have the excuse that there's been plenty of real injustice in the world - EVE is a game. If it's unjust and unfair, get better or quit. Major "rock in the pond changes" because ~reasons~ are a terrible idea, but people with no critical thinking or analysis skills like to advocate for them. Arguing against an opinion is notoriously futile as it is seldom possible to empirically disprove.
So is your belief that failure must mostly be external. That is your belief right? Because the post you responded to offered only the observation that a Reset won't help like some people like they think it would, because the problem was never the wealth or SP of other players, the problem was and is the limitations people put on themselves. Off all people you should understand this, Fozzie sov was put in place along much of the same thinking, and you've posted against that system.
You and I both know the real deal here though. What I said (and the things I say) strike too close to home with you, they go against what you need to believe, and yet you can't figure out a way to fight it with logic. So you lash out like a 5 year old who had his juice box taken from him, rather than reacting like an adult who has full confidence in his perspective.
I've said this to many a broken person who chose to post on this forum, and ill say it to you, if lashing out at me makes you feel better, have at it, but it ain't going to fix your problem..which is you. |

BTW, In the exact same time frame I've been promoted twice, because the things that guy thought were barriers , weren't The environment and circumstances matter sure, but at the end of the day, whether one experiences success or failure is fundamentally internal, not external. A Reset of EVE Online would just be confirmation of the fact that some people suck at gaming and others don't. We already know this lol. Look at the OP - despite "thinking a lot" no actual reasoning is presented.
Exactly. The 'remove the barriers' types always mean well IMO (in game and out), but by not recognizing where the actual problem comes from (mostly inside, outside can be a problem but that can be overcome), they're solutions always miss the mark. Not only miss the mark, but frequently make things worse for the very people who they were trying to help.

#1. If you don't like it, ignore function
#2. "A balance" is a cop out answer , basically proclaiming "the things I wanted to do but have failed to do in life haven't totally been my fault". In real life, It's BS if you live (or can get to) a developed country, in a sandbox game it's even worse than that. People in EVE have proven that you can take the 5000 isk you get on character creation and make a fortune with it, that you can take frigs or industrials and beat vets in cruisers, that you can take ships that "everyone knows suck" and end up on youtube pwning multiple other ships, that you can do the highest end PVE in cheap easy to train for ships etc etc.
Over time I've come to believe that the 'external factors' people tend to be the 'change the world' types who cling to the idea that if you just manipulate a certain environment or factors of it, you can create favorable situations. No one can be surprised that this is how you think, or that you would respond so negatively to the idea that YOU can't change things like you want, because the problem isn't the environment you can manipulate, the problem is people, that you can't (not in the same way).
TL;DR, people like you need it to be someone or something else's fault. It's not.
Back on topic, People who think a reset would help are people who hide behind the idea that some nebulous "external factor" is keeping them down. Part of me would actually like to see a reset, so that after 1-3 months with the people who are rich and prominent in EVE become rich and prominent again, at least we'd have somethign to show to all these 'external factors!' types. Not that it would make any difference to them (you). |

That you would be an apologist for people who do real life evil is no surprise.
How then do you explain those of us from the SAME 'external' circumstances (poor, perhaps the "wrong color", from the 'wrong side of the tracks" with no 'connections, with adverse mental health histories in their families etc) who not only don't become criminals, but come up to contribute to society?
Believing in the power of the 'external factors' is just a way people salve their own egos about things. Problem, is, they take that believe into every endeavor. Even recreational ones (like playing a spaceship MMO).
Then they find themselves on said spaceship MMO's forum believing that 'if you just lower this barrier (or remove it, like resstting the whole game), more people will come'. So the game developer lowers the barrier, and more people don't come (because while they blamed the barrier, it was their lack of will that was at fault). Meanwhile, people who ignored the barrier (or NEEDED THAT BARRIER TO EXIST to make the journey into that mmo worthwhile) end up playing less because the game is less challenging. A fine example of a good intention making things worse rather than better.
I think it is no coincidence that EVE Online is today more safe, more user friendly, more accessible than ever before while at the exact same time seeming to be less popular than it has been in a very long time. The desire that some have for a reset is just a continuation of the failed "if you just level the playing field" mentality that imo has led to the current situation.
Real players don't give a flip about level playing fields, they simply find a way to be the guys standing on the best part of the field...

@ this sort of odd banter, it would make more sense if the argument was about actually doing something in-game for the equivalent of SP; but the mechanic is just arbitrary gating. There's no motivation in a set queue, because there's no reward for any amount of play.
No socialization because of low character value? SP problem. Gameplay doesn't seem open, and thus competitive, because all of the depth is behind worthless limitations? SP problem. Stations are empty because of limited industry SP? Sov is unchallenged because of limited character and, thus, corp progression?
Yet these are all main criticisms of the game with no other obvious fix. The gameplay is fun enough, for any niche including marketing and advanced ship maneuvers (that the game is basically a 3D ARPG), yet playing any interesting role well is behind a completely preposterous amount of non-gameplay. |

self proclaimed prophets of EVE, teach us, show us why you are right, so we can listen once then forget it as quick as we can, we've better things to do than read the screams of doom within every post you can ram one in.
a reset would mean nothing! the leaders we have currently throughout the alliances would just reform within 24 hours and take their shite back, within 6 months they'd be more or less in control of what they need, within 1 year they'd be right back on track.
or do you guys believe everyone will follow you and you can create a much better empire than everyone else. ya know we've all had our fair share of wannabe leaders and backseat fc's who always know better than everyone else.
so let's try keep in mind how this relationship works yea
CCP provides the sandbox.
WE the players provide the content.
you can't reset this sandbox without removing the content providers (the players)

I can't answer that without directly violating a forum rule (damn those rules). At the same time i realize that a person of your...beleifs.. won't accept it anyways, I've never known a "oh your poor victims" type to ever change their minds about anything, even when it's clear that while you types might mean well, what you end up doing (in real life, maybe even in the game) ends up hurting more than helping.
If you look at the basic, core, underlying reasons for 'fozzie-sov' (basically trying to 'stick it to the man' and 'level the playing field for the small guy', both of which have failed), you'll see a very clear in game example of what I'm talking about.
The perpetual 'small guys' and 'solo' types are people who lack the personal tools , will and motivation to become the (or join existing) 'big' guys (and then blamed this internal lack on an external situation.. the sov system....), no amount of gerrymandering SOV can deal with the actual problem (which is the INTERNAL preferences of the 'small guys') while the attempt to do something has done little but discourage a good number of 'big group' players who previously were perfectly at home in null (despite their complaining about 'blue donuts' and 'stagnation') because fozzie sov is just 'imported FW'.
A Reset would be the same thing,. only more extreme. The people who fail now (and blame it on 'entrenched wealthy bitter vets) would be the same people in a rest EVE as they are now: Willing to blame outside forces for failures that come from inside (them) thus never learning the lessons of their failures (which is a key to success). Their habits would lead them to the same end state: fail.
Meanwhile, in Reset EVE, the people who are rich and powerful (and got rich and powerful by being not just ruthless and cunning, but also responsible and accountable, at least to themselves) would just find new ways to stick it to the above mentioned stupid/victim types, and within less than a month the old status quo would return, with Haves having and Have-nots blaming stuff that has nothing to do with why they are have-nots.
TL;DR, people don't change, changing the crap around them is meaningless. You can take a hood-rat out of the ghetto, you can't take the ghetto out of the hood-rat.

This whole idea is undermining the validity of SP as a problem for gameplay. Last I checked, the best progression in a video game (especially an MMO) is not money but gameplay. It's of very little conversational value that corps would rejoin in a reset, except that there is very little cause for one beyond advertising and increased competitive gameplay (little, because the same effect can be accomplished by SP disappearing).
Fresh, non-stale gameplay is an SP problem. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=5990619#post5990619 |

The real problem is they never accept that this is the problem. No matter how you explain it to them, it's never the real reason. |

The problem with EvE is that actually editing the code is apparently problematic because of documentation. It seems humorous how many games with modding get thousands of pages of mods but no fan, engine port -- especially with all of the free engines worth implementing (and the limitations on modding with most games). |

I don't think the resetters want a reset for a different outcome, I'm pretty sure they are wanting a repeat on early PLEX prices of ~200m isk so they can play for free with minimum effort. If 90% of the existing players uninstall over it, well a small price to pay for their PLEX.

Look at gameloft, a mobile developer.
They design mobile games based off console games for the most part, but they have 8 asphalt games and 5 dungeon hunter games.
It seems they know how to milk games in early stages but it doesn't provide a solution for a long term game.

Didn't play it much then uninstalled, mostly because of my poor internet connection back then as a mobile connection wouldn't work for their mobile game. Later reinstalled with a better connection and started playing again, but man was that community terribly toxic! I mean it was just down right nasty. Then I figured out it wasn't b2p any longer but went fully f2p. Uninstalled.

Is this a reset where everyone gets to keep their skills? Just loses all of their property?
Why not make a second server, where your charcter can choose to go there with no property, and be stuck there?
Like a second Eve gate opens up, and it's a one way ticket to some faraway place where nothing has been built?
Or another possibility: create a second server with a whole second null, but it is located somewhere that is "cut off" from the main server. So when you take your character there you actually log off and log back on again in the other server, and you're now in a whole different system?
Then everyone is happy. The people who like the current server would stay. The people who want a new fronteir would go. |

Not a second Server, but a new universe - one way acess with an given char (for PLEX costs) or a new blank char direct in this universe. So you may have chars on 1 account in different universes, like high SP missionrunner on New Eden, and something new on the second universe. This should run on the actual serverhardware as a new giant region which is not direct acessible. So this will have less additional costs for CCP and will rush a bunch of new players to eve i think.

Reset EVE? HELL NO.
I had the most interesting conversation last night with a corpmate who was actually a player who had been playing EVE since it was in open beta - in 2002. According to her, the first major changes were wrought by players who completely altered the economy (and actually made Jita and Amarr into the trade hubs they are today) and saved EVE from dying.
You want to reset the entire EVE universe? Sure, as long as you're prepared for a New Eden where:
- Yulai is the only trade hub
- It takes a solid week just to make a couple million isk
- There are no fancy 3D toons or walking in stations (which people still do, by the way, despite the gutting of Incarna)
- You have to use a rather cumbersome interface with little or no manual control
- Space mines, apparently one of the most exploitable weapons in EVE history, are available for purchase for peanuts
- There's no CONCORD-backed security system. You think CODE are bad? Try getting repeatedly ganked by anyone, anywhere, anytime, with zero recourse.
- There's no planetary interaction
- There's no SKINs
So much of the good stuff would be missing, and it wouldn't necessarily solve your problems.
Want asylum from CODE? Go to Solitude, or better yet, join my player corp when the Citadels are released.
Want something done about the Imperium and Goonswarm? Form (or join) some frakking PvP alliances, tool up and take them on yourselves. The goons are actually quite bored and would like some 'gud fites', they're just waiting for you to get off your sorry butts and show up in Providence.

You must be joking OP. I don't have supers, yet it is easy to predict what will happen - all null sec alliances pissed, huge player base leaving the game and for what? It's never going to happen.
Only way they could do it is to make EVE 2. But even that is really pointless as a year or two down the line you would need EVE 3. |

but hey OP if you want a reset so bad then hit delete character and create a new one,, there ya go, reset. that's about the only reset you'll get around these parts.
I'm curious though, OP are you pretty new to EVE? because you seem to not have a clue about the game you play.

Once again:
Simply NO!
OP does not have the slightest idea what storm would break loose. PLEX bought via isk might be one thing. But i also have PLEX bought with Real Money still on my account.
I would not only loose in game stuff i would loose my investments, that i made into EvE.
A reset and i would be gone for good. You would just loose a big amount of the regular player amount AND you will NOT get more new players playing EvE, since EvE hasn't changed. EvE really would be dead.
And if you do NOT reset everything, this reset would be worthless, since entities with a lot of PLEX to rebuy stuff and keep or even enlarge their SOV.

If you reset everything, titans and supers would be years away from reach for everyone, alliances and groups would reset, and the whole thing would be a healthy reboot IMO.

Have no interest in the rest of this thread... but your personal stats would say he was way off...
Taking out control towers and capsules only 72% of your kills were against things that normally can't fight back.
Code. on the other hand. Raw numbers not even isk-wise, 91% of their kills are Frieghters, Jump Frieghters, Industrials, mining barges, exhumers and mining frigates.
And that includes whoring on their own concord death mails.

It's also worth noting that industrials, mining barges, exhumers and mining frigates can all shoot back.

Every change leaves the badguys just about to fall.
We just need more coalitions to exist to destroy them, more legions to be paid off, more lasersov, more something!!
