Same problem started for me last night, after jumping through a gate. As for many, relogging fixed it until i went through another gate when the lag reappeared.
Also a lot of graphical anomalies, gates showing as wrecks (yellow), and gates not being selectable in overview or by clicking on them.
Just logged in today after extended downtime and same thing, if not worse, with less than 5000 players online.

Pasted from the other locked thread:
I experienced this last night but didn't see memory usage go above the usual 230meg footprint per client. One client was jumping through empire whislt the other was active in one system. Both dropped down to below 10fps or so every 20minutes. Relogging sorted this out temporarily.
The CPU usage hits 100% with only one client.
System: Core Duo 6700 / 2gigs of ram / Nvidia 7950 GX2

Edited by: Ryysa on 19/12/2006 12:11:21 update:
I tried some stuff... when you jump around within the same region, it isn't as noticeable...
The moment you jump out from one region to other, fps cuts in half, and any subsequent jumps keep halving it....
Maybe this helps.
Jumping around in heimatar: 60 fps jump into metro: 30 fps every consequtive jump in metro halves fps so next jump: 15 fps and currently at 8 fps...

About 120-130 sat in station.
System I'm in has two stargates, so started the same thing warping back and forth. Ashokon (Genesis) between Emsar gate and Avyuh gate (34AU).

Someone else test this I warped around belts that I knew had a lot of anchored cans, back and forth between stations, stargates, anything anchored. Very shortly I would be relogging each time. Quote: This problem just started happening to me too.
I think it has something to do with the area I'm in (region), cause, for the past month or longer, I'd been doing mining operations (and some missions) in Derelik region. Never had a problem, jumped and jumped and jumped, no performance loss.
Now I've moved to Genesis/Essence to do some higher missions with my battleship and this problem has popped up for me. Severe performance loss on every single jump. Restarting the client makes it go away, until you do a few jumps then it starts getting unbearable.
System specs: Intel P4 2.4ghz 1GB Memory ATI Radeon 9550 (Catalyst version 1.2.2475.36837)
After looking through all the similar performance problem threads, I've tried 'clearing the cache', and double checked my video card's IRQ usage to ensure nothing else is sharing it. Clearing the cache had no effect. IRQ is not being shared.
Wanted to also add, I'd done many many jumps in Metropolis and Heimatar and never experienced a problem. It's definitely seems to have coincide with me running missions out of Genesis/Essence.
If I feel upto it, I'll make a trip back to Rens and see if the problem magically goes away, and report back here.
That's from the other thread... just logged into my alt still in Derelik, region has nothing to do with it, its just as bad.
This needs to be fixed ASAP, game is really unpleasant with this problem.

Same problem in Molden Heath. Happens on both my computers. Each time I warp anywhere, the FPS drops and finally reaches around FPS 5.
The game is unplayable after a few warps. |

Yesterday EVE felt a little sluggish and I didn't think much about it and today even more so. Checked my FPS and found to my suprise it was 9ish FPS. And in the middle of a battle with some rats I got disconnected. Relogged and still sluggish. Killed rats and relogged again, FPS back up to my normal 50ish FPS. Nothing changed on my comp, no new drivers installed nor programs. Been running the same setup for about a month with no problems.

Okay, to add: I went to taskmanager on the desktop unit and set the priority to high, stabilized the game for the most part (still got drops but losing more like 1 fps per jump instead of seven) However most peeps can tell you that after a while, this can make windows itself pretty unstable. --------- Gallente need ONE ship with an ecm bonus option. Had the same thing (in empire) yesterday on the alt, ferrying goods from one station to another... either Warp or Session Change (I would say Warp) seems to cause the problem.
And: Can we have a Temporary Sticky for this, please?

ok how to reproduce this issue:
1 - set AP to destination like 6 to 7 jumps away 2 - travel the AP route in whatever way you do (AP on or manually) 3 - framerate starts to drop at 2nd or 3rd jump.
happened yesterday to me, and it was noticeable since I was making a 20-jump trip.
however I thought it was of the .NET framework 1.1 that is reported to cause mem leaks in conjunction with EVE, so I uninstalled it.
it didn't solve a damn thing tbh. -------

I had this lag yesterday evening (for the first time). I didn't mention it because I thought there was something up with my PC. I was autopiloting and using MWD in a raptor at the time - across 4 jumps or so - frame-rate crashes after a jump. I haven't been autopiloting since WTZ in general so was wondering if it was anything to do with that.

Edited by: TerrorWOLF on 19/12/2006 12:39:33 This started yesterday then i clone jumpet to empire in to Forge region didnt have it up in Vale. Everything worked fine untile i jumped in to Uchoshi (4 jumps from where i cloned) fps went from 130 to 7. After thet i reloged in Mastakomon and went back to Uchoshi and same thing FPS back down to 7fps reloged in next system and then a fev jumps no problem.
Could be that something in a system or contelation couses this. I asked in Alliance and no one in Vale had that problem but corpmate in Jita was on 7fps as well.
PS: I didnt use autopilot.

Test feedback : Issues seems not to be related to warping itself, but to what you find in destination grid. I warped like 20 time from empty planet to empty plant an saw no FPS loss. I even noticed no loss when warping to an 'empty' gate (only sentry guns and billboard).
But, if i stay in same system but warp to gates with object, FPS starts to decrease. (i didn't check specifically effect of NPC or PC presence near gate).
Test conditions : Text logs are off, i'm using a taranis for tests, with some items in cargohold, system is Ihal, i'm using warp to 0 for every warp. I cleaned cache a few minutes ago. I'm playing is full screen with Readon 9600 video card. CPU is AMD sempron. - > Order Falcon & Pilgrim > Colsup |

This extream FPS decrease started to effect me roughly at 0100 GMT today, i logged off shortly after ( need my beauty sleep ), restarted the client after the 0800-1100 Down time, all seemed fine, docked with FPS sitting at 180. I undocked and made 2 jumps, and my FPS dropped to around 7, i docked and sat there for a while.. still my FPS were hovering arounf 8-9 FPS.
I rebooted the client, and all seemed fine, untill i made another system jump.
CPU usage duering this FPS loss was around 97-99%

Edit: and it now takes 1min+ to logout Actually, my machine totally locked up while attempting to logout, ctrl-alt-del dosent work either, had to power if off

Hit by the same problem on both of my ATI machines.
First occured last night at 21:00hrs after jumping several systems.

Just to throw a spanner into the works:
I am running 2 clients, in the essence region. Sound off, PC is a P4 3.0 with Radeon 9800 128mb Pro and 1GB RAM. One client is sat in low sec not doing anything, the other hauling in high sec. The hauling client is getting these ridiculous framerate drops - the other client is fine! This same situation happened yesterday too.

Edited by: Numfon on 19/12/2006 12:54:31 Yesterday evening time (GMT+1) and prio to the Server Patch, the Lag was terrible. It happen this morning when I fly from Dodixie to Korsiki (22 Jumps save route) and the FPS go down from 50 to 2 FPS. However I thought it is a problem with the server and not pay attention to it.
Now in this moment I do fly from Josekorn to Dodixie via autopilot and have the same problem. In the beginning the FPS is more than 50 but it go down till 2 FPS which make it unplayable. Windows Taskmanager does increase the memory of ExeFile.exe from 260 MB to 280 MB in this moment while writing this lines. After I relog the EVE Client I can enjoy again the 50 FPS.
