The way I see the problem is: SERVER not telling CLIENT that a SESSION CHANGE is concluded. Everytime u Warp as far as I know u do a SESSION. Last night for anyreason TQ start to NOT ACK the end of a SESSION to CLIENT, so Client keep pilling up NOT CLONCLUDED SESSIONS every time it warps, so eating more and more resources at client side.
If this prove to be the case, can I have a Corvus drop in my hangar ?

Edited by: Free 2 on 19/12/2006 13:10:51 Someone suggest somewhere (can't find it back) it might have to do with anchored structures like gates, stations etc. This would make sense as astroids and moons don't seem to cause any problems but once you warp to a gate or station multiple times fps drops dramatically. Some say you will have to go through a gate to get fps drop but in fact warping back and forth between gates in same system causes frames to drop each time. Granted, if you go through a gate it hits harder but it's not the sole thing.
perhaps someone can try warping between stations, gates and or achored cans in belts to check it out?! I'm @ work else i'd try it.
@lIiIl
i think you're right and has been "sortoff" mentioned as reason in other threads also. Problem now is sorting out WHY as it happened all of a sudden and not after a patch or even dt.

The problems started for me after todays DT.
It starts up ok, then for each jump I do it gets worse 'til I reach a point where I have to relog. CPU usage is constantly @ 99-100% after a few jumps, something that never has happened to me before. ____________

Just wanted to add, I think it must be something the servers are telling the client to do, cause two days ago, everything was peachy (other than some odd overview glitches.)
Now it's all messed up, and there's not been a client patch between those two days.

Have no idea if clearing cache had anything to do with it

Edited by: Sakura Nihil on 19/12/2006 13:08:47 Two things Star Fraction pilots have noticed:
1) 100% CPU usage - probably a memory leak from what little I know of computers 2) Jumping through gates proportionally decreases your FPS with every jump; we started out with around 33 FPS but had it slowly cut down about 1 or 2 frames each jump, so that now we're at around 2 FPS 3) Sitting in station and not heading to the next system apparently keeps your framerate high and steady, as my Myrmidon has been chilling in a station for the last hour or so and not lost any FPS, whereas my other account has travelled about 30 jumps and been spanked by the lag-monster 4) Relogging fixes it until you build up jumps and makes it necessary to do it again to get back to normal FPS
Hope we get a quick fix .

Just to add my bit here too... Today's patch seems to have made matters much worse for me, not better. I experienced very little lag yesterday, even in quite busy systems (100+ in local) but after today's patch I'm down to around 5 fps even in deserted systems.

Yep seems fine when you fire log then jump and Bang, but this started at 2AM game time not the patch i had this issue just before going to bed late last night
Hope that helps find the issue.

PS the help channel in eve is full of people with same issue now so dont think its just a few with a problem anymore.

My fps problems aren't as bad as most people here but I do notice a few oddities in performance on different hardware. I have 3 clients on three PC's i'll use station FPS as it is the easiest to monitor over time.
Rig1 AMD2200+ x86 GF4800Ti 1Gb PC2100 - FPS in station around 49
Rig2 AMD3200+ x64 GF6600LE 1Gb PC3200 - FPS in station around 55
Rig3 AMD3800+ x64 GF8800GTX 1Gb PC3200 - FPS in station around 60
Now, to me thats odd where a fourth generation nVidia gfx board is performing almost as well as a 6th Gen, or is the 6th gen performing really badly. All three machines have just had brand new windows builds put on them the 4800 and 6600 cards are using the same driver builds. The shocking bit is the GTX's REALLY BAD FPS(tm), granted the CPU is a little on the slow side to run one properly but i would at least expect an idle fps of at least 100 in a station.
One thing i did notice is that the GTX pauses exactly every second when its orbiting (idling) in a station..i timed it. The other 2 machines don't suffer with that. ........

Couple of jumps anywhere, and Eve becomes unplayable due to extreme client lag. Didn't have this issue at all before today's patch.

nothing to do with the patch, the fps degrade was yesterday also around but some got lucky and it didn't affect them at that point. The extended dt was never ment for this to be fixed as they were not aware of this thing when the dt was announced. It all started around 18gmt for me last night and everybody who says they have it since last dt prolly haven't been online last night after 18gmt.

Edited by: Drakin Korin on 19/12/2006 13:19:31 Allright, i've been trying to isolate the problem.
Somebody said warping made the issue worse, it doesn't....i made 2 spots in space, and been warping to it for about 10 minutes, nothing changed.
Somebody said anchored objects, doesn't change anything either....warped to belts with cans a few times and everything was still fine.
Somebody said it was jumping through a gate, this DOES change everything....jumping once through a gate made my fps drop 50%, the second jump it dropped about 35% lower.
Ie: jumping through a gate causes it. I can't say it's a mem leak or not, since my pc always uses about 200-300 mem when playing eve, and that didn't change much.
Docking and undocking doesn't change anything either, not sure if there is a difference between docking and jumping, but i was thinking about some sort of session change that went bullox....anyway, i'm not the expert, i hope this helps.

same here. I got the first decrease yesterday evening (gmt-time) after hours of play and many jumps. I relogged and the problem was gone for the rest of the night. Today after the downtime and said fix of the problem i have it more often. After 2 or 3 missions with some jumps i have to relog because of the bad fps-rate.
My System: CoreDuo 6600 2GB pc5400 corsair RAM nforce4 chipset geforce 7600gt 256MB graphics sound: some onboard card ^^
I hope this helps somehow to address the problem and fix it...relogging gets annoying now because i cant log in immediately, with 13k players i get a place in line :/

Since my previous post ( roughly 10 mins ago ), Im noticing a FPS spike, as well as CPU usage spike.
Iv not done anything other than leave my ship docked in Rens whilst making this and the previous post, still logged in.
Task manager is showing CPU jumping from 8 - 50% whilst im typing this *ExeFile.exe 32*.
Maximising the Eve client shows that i have dropped form 180 FPS down to 90 FPS.
Using CTRL +F to show FPS ingame... The FPS meter is showing weired spikes, All i have open is a chat window, the FPS are jumping from 93.6 to 70.7 FPS, when a message appears in the chat window it drops to less than 40 FPS, opening a new window ie: char sheet, it lags out for a few seconds and drops to 12 FPS, then returns to hover around the 93 - 70 FPS.

I have to agree with the people who say it started yesterday evening, long before the extended maintenance (roughly 12 hours before, around 18 GMT) ... at first i thought it was my graphics card buying the farm, but through testing on several other comps, i was convinced it was eve-related ... it has nothing to do with jumping inside a system, and everything with jumping through jumpgates to other systems / regions ... i had some trading to do, and as long as you stay in the system, no harm is done ... jumping, both manually and with AP both give the same result when going through a gate ... dropping framerate, to a degree its not playable ... it also gives more and more problems loading markets the more jumps through gates you make ... sometimes only the selling or the buying half appeared ... lets hope they fix it asap!
