On Thursday, 4 January, Tranquility will undergo an extended 24 hour downtime for external network infrastructure changes and database server software updates. We do not expect the changes and upgrade to exceed 12 hours and hope to allow connections to Tranquility sooner; however we cannot guarantee network stability or connectivity until after the end of the scheduled downtime.
Users that log in before the end of the scheduled downtime will be playing 'at risk' and will not be reimbursed for losses incurred by upgrade related issues.
We apologize for the inconvenience the extended downtime will cause for some members of the community and encourage training a long duration skill.

Will the mail bug be fixed?
Will we finally get the s replaced with real pictures? They said it would take a week, its been a month.
Will there be a client patch? Will the year-old warp-bubbles-not-affecting-emergency-warp bug be fixed? Will the aggro timer bug be fixed after two years?

The only change I expect to see after this DT is improved game performance (less lag). Which in itself is worth extended DT IMHO. Maybe they prepare the databases for some upcoming new features as well... In any case, rock on and good luck!

In which case... why? The mail bug has been around for weeks now, and CCP themselves says its fixed in the code--why not deploy a small patch to fix it? I'd happily sacrifice a few hours of downtime to get that goddamned bug fixed.

After all the downtime when are we going to get a free day?
To all the 'oh its only bleh amount of money'
I don't care :) i pay to play not to be unable to play due to extended downtimes. Over the past two months we have lost about 3 days of play-time due to downtimes...
And to any dev who says that expansions are free - if they weren't you would loose allot of customers so its not only good for us, but good for your company.

There will not be a client patch deployed during the extended maintenance period on Thursday. There will be a patch later in the month to address issues remaining after the Revelations deployment, such as the e-mail notification issue.

Why not be honest and say you cannot guarantee network stability or connectivity after the scheduled downtime either? Hell, its part of the EULA:
Originally by: EULA NO WARRANTIES The Software, System, Game and all Game Content, and all other services and material provided in connection therewith, are provided "AS IS," with all faults, and without warranty of any kind. You assume all risk of use and all risk associated with accessing the System and playing the Game.
CCP disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation the warranties of merchantability, fitness for particular purpose and non-infringement. There is no warranty against interference with your enjoyment of the Game. CCP does not warrant that the operation of the System or your access to the System, or that your use of the Software, will be uninterrupted or error-free, nor that the System or Software will be compatible with your hardware and software.
While CCP attempts to have the System available at most times, CCP does not guarantee that the System will always be available, or that the System will not become unavailable during Game play. The System may become unavailable for a number of reasons, including without limitation during the performance of maintenance to the System, for the implementation of new software, for emergency situations and due to equipment or telecommunications failures.

I think it's time for CCP to give us money back for those offline days. I don't care that there are only 50 eurocents, it's my money and I worked for it. There are too many extended downtime pediods lately.

No downtime, no patches. And if you don't have patches, you wont get any new content or bugs fixed.
You really can't have the cake and eat it too. Or do you suggest that CCP try to jam all patches into the 1 hour daily downtime, or even have no daily downtime at all?
