Few weeks/months ago at was written here on these forums that it was possible to hack the forums and get login name and password of the peaple who are active on the forums at the time.

I dont know if that is possible anymore or if that is cookie based.

Wow, corp hangar raided and all assets blown up for no apparent reason. This truly is a horrifying turn of events. I sympathize.

One question for all the people expecting the GMs to "do whats right".... all of this is predicated on IP logging or something like that. Im no expert by any means, but it seems to me, that just because I log on to my account from a different location doesnt mean my account was hacked. Im planing on doing just this when i take a 3 week vacation in the States....What happens if CCP shows that it was just one or two login attempts from a different location than normal? Does this really mean hacking occured?

"...KIAGumpys account, one of our production/refining accounts used by me and the directors only. This account had access to all 7 Corp hangars."

Errm, isnt it explicitly forbidden to share accounts for exactly this reason? Technically the KIA guys are in violation of their EULAs.... I dont know what affect that would/should have on the GMs. Maybe there is a lesson here?

All around this is a terrible turn of events. I hope things do work out for you though so you can keep on doin it for the ladeez.... good luck

Dood your an idiot. If it shows that each account has a specific ip address in which they were logged onto then KIA could give ccp their ip addresses then match them against the one used to do this "heinous" deed.

However the person if smarter than the average dumbass 16 year old learning to use a port scanner may have used a proxy which then will be very, very hard to pinpoint who did it. Specially if it was done at a University tech lab or someones workplace. Most have hardware firewalls that wont even allow you to ping them. So Othnark shut up and save grace m8.

Sorry to hear about this, KIA. Hopefully CCP will restore your accounts to their previous glory! (I'd add "quickly" but I think that has already passed...)

The fact that all the items were blown up points firmly in the direction of a personal gripe. That being the case, I think it would be entirely appropriate for CCP to release home addresses if they can ever track these ass clowns down so that we might personally deliver an ass kicking.

It may also be appropriate for the KIA members to keep us abrest of what CCP says in regard to their item replacement. If a negative answer comes back I propose that we begin a KIA ISK drive. I have had no contact with KIA in-game, but I would hate to see good, dedicated players quit on principal alone.

Cheers and good luck.

Thank you for the civil discussion. I have one more question. How do you know everything was taken outside and blown up? I didn't see how you would know this part unless the one who did it told you they did or someone saw it happen.

Very good point Agent Shield and it should be answered or else peaple might think that KIA member had just pulled a playboy Rolling Eyes

They said them selfs that several peaple had access to that account, and that alone should make them receve a warning or a ban, since that is against the EULA.

As I recall something like this happened in EVE Beta at one stage. As it turned out, the user of the account used the same log on name and password in EVE as they do on forumsand some one picked it up from there.

The account could of been guessed or picked up from anywheres, but I thought I might just add in that information.

Still a bummer on your loss but.....

One of our non director members saw him blowing up ships outside station. He thought mistakenly, that this was either me or Inkbatz (flatmates, and share the accon costs and use for the corps good) doing it for some unknown, but none the less, valid as directors of corp reason.

When we discovered everything missing next day, and no trades done by Gumpy in his transactions etc, we kinda put 2 n 2 together.

We not only do not know what a "playboy is", it dont really sound like the sort of thing we go in for.

This is poo news KIA guys, bad luck.

You'll bounce back, I am sure the GMs will fix this, as they will spot the IP errors, repalcing the charcter and his skill pints howevere might be considerably more difficult for them.

Not that it makes any difference, but if KIA doesn't get this resolved, I'll cancel my own account. CCP cannot allow their customers' efforts to be destroyed oog. That can't happen. If it is allowed to happen, then we are all at risk of being screwed over because of a grudge. There's plenty of other ways to waste time...why bother with Eve if CCP is going to allow some malicious pr1ck to totally dump on other players this way.

One other thing, KIA...if people can sell their assets on E-Bay for real money, then this individual has actually caused you a material loss. In other words, the time you spent accumulating those assets (and experience points) has monetary value.

I realize none of you would ever sell an account or asset on E-Bay (which I think borders on an exploit in and of itself), but the point is that the person who did this committed a real oog crime besides just hacking your account.

Okay, maybe it's a stretch...but anyone who would do something this totally lame should have to worryy about more than having his or her account banned.
