I think you used to have this feature, but on the personal stats page, I'd like to see where I rank in each skill category, rather than how many skills I have in each category.

It would be nice if this site could concentrate on userability of the actually site.
1. Paging - I click on TOP Characters with Skills in Rank 1, and I am prsented with 35,000 records which almost crashes my FF - god knows what it is doing to your server - no wonder your Bandwidth is so extraordinarily large!
2. The right hand TOP 10 Rankings is probably the most interesting thing, I would like to see this in a three column display not have to scroll endlessly to look at all the categories.
3. Why do I have to register through the ingame browser? Surely using the new API you can register online, and this way the site can keep the Charachter sheet always up-to date.
This site could be good but at the moment it is flawed with userability issues that should be fixed as a priority

Ive just tried to update my details using the sync option in evemon but their appears to be a problem.
The ineve site says it has been updated and shows the correct time but has about 1mill sp's missing, ive checked through and some of the skills appear to be a lvl lower than my character skill list ingame and evemon both show and some others that ive had trained for a while are just missing completely, is this a problem with the evemon sync option or the ineve site?

There may be a delay on the inEVE.net site displaying the updated data, I know they are having some MySQL problems. Wait 24h, check again (do some updates in between) and then get the following if the problem still persists.
1) A copy of your character sheet XML data.
2) A copy of your API skill data.
3) A copy of your EVEMon XML skill data.
4) A link to your character on the inEVE site.
5) A screenshot of your skills from ingame.
Don't copy/paste the whole files here, but instead upload and link to them. We should be able to find a discrepancy in those and pinpoint the problem area.

download your xml file [from <- my character] and upload that to in-eve

You still have ! here on the eve forum ... only after that has changed can the site get your photo and for that you need update (using the IGB).

Do the character pictures ever get updated? Or they stay the same as when you first created character. I did a character swap months ago but still shows old picture. And yes ive updated character xml many times since then.

Does ineve.net go sluggish and eventually stop responding for everybody else?
Every time (yes every time) I go to the site, I'm able to click 2-3 links and everything is speedy as it should be. Then on the 4th or 5th click the site completely locks up and will not load any pages for me at all. Even if I close the browser and try to re-access the site 10-15 minutes later it still will not load. After a couple hours I'll be able to go back to the site, and click another 2-3 links before the same problem will occur. I've been having this issue since I discovered the site several months ago.
This happens to me every time, so I don't need, nor do I want to hear "Oh you're stupid it works just fine for me" or "your computer is dumb".
Now I know it is not something with my computer. I have no problem accessing any other website I have ever visited. And this happens from multiple computers from multiple sources around where I live. Perhaps its a problem between Hawaii and where the ineve.net servers are located? Or maybe its a known problem with the ineve.net web servers? Either way I wasn't able to find any answers using the forum search, so here is my post asking if anybody else has these issues.
BTW from what I'm actually able to see, its a good site!

Seems you can reproduce this when the ranks are auto-updating. I'll let Sara Dawn know and maybe she can pick up something in her logs.

It would be quite handy to be able to report characters somehow that are obviously bogus... Cause it's quite annoying to see fabricated characters on the #1 spot. ;-D

The inEvE site has been very slow the last couple of weeks (months?). Could it have something to do with this?

I have given up on trying to get the database server/code to behave with tons of character updates at once. The only way to handle that would be to split the skills table but that would mean rewriting a huge part of the site.
As a fix I have made it sequential, so character updates will be delayed a few minutes, but in reality this translates into better performance site wide.

Ahoy,
i have had little communication with the community and have used Ray to transmit a few messages, but I'm now able once again to resume to more frequent posting.
As for news, have a look in my blog for things like:
- domain renewal as part of my commitment
- being approach by many different parties of dogdy people trying to capitalize on eve (make money) offers to be bought by ridicule plans, isk selling schemes the works.
And I'm proud to say I wont be doing any of that.
- Launched a new skills section, with some info I wanted to put out a long time ago but never got around to it.
- Changed the way xml updates where being done, (gave up on concurrency, and went to a sequential aproach) this in turn solved all the previous performance problems, that where all related to the updates
- I am aware of a few bugs, about syncing and etc
- Atm i'm working on a new section of the website being a part of it made with code by someone else, I'll give appropriate credit when it's launched, and it'll be added to the about.
- I have started using a TODO/Tasks software to keep myself more organized by objectives
- I have a huge list of things there already
- The site is now at 45.3k characters and going strong, with the performance fix we're good for many tens of thousands more
- Pagination is a high priority in my Task/Todo List, something that many people have asked me before (and no as it is now it's not a performance problem, it just hangs your browser because it's a big page, it doesn't affect the server much more then any other page)
- I have been planning on expansions and other things, all on my Task list, lets see what i can put out :)
I hope to be here for you more now, that i have something sorted out that made me take forum breaks often.

Howdy,
worked with Brad Stone of EVEmon this afternoon in a joint effort to try and find out what the problem was, turns out the problem is on my side :( and to make it more "fun" it doesn't seem to happen when i do it manually and only when it happens to be run using crontab, I've implemented another way of doing updates my 3 tests with 3 characters where successful, I'm waiting trial by fire with the ineve users. :) let me know if it works. (note: some skillpoint difference may occur)
