After 10 days of constant fighting TCF is now in control of I-NGI8's station. No white magician nor cavalry coming to the rescue of Maelstrom alliance was able to stop the tide of destruction brought upon ]v[deathstars by TCF, UNL, GS and RA. Despite vaillant efforts of LV and Maelstrom to protect their stronghold against overwhelming odds, they lost ground day after day, sinking into defeat inexorably. TCF would like to thank especialy : Goonswarm for serving 200 ships fleet anywhere in the galaxy within 15 minutes, Red Alliance for happening to be around magicaly whenever they are needed with exactly what you need, United Legion for their constant support during the whole siege. We also would like to thank Maelstrom and Myriad for their fighting spirit and sportsmanlike behaviour during the siege, LV for being there and giving our opponents a chance and providing us with a few fun fights.
The battle for I-NGI8 is over, for now, but the war will go on hopefully.
Total Mayem a former Maelstrom corporation asked for a cease-fire and was granted one by TCF, if other ]v[corporations or ]v[ as a whole want a similar agreement, TCF is open to negociations.

Let's see how long it lasts though, as you know the trick is in keeping a station.

On behalf of Myriad Alliance, I would like to pass on commiserations to Maelstrom on the loss of their outpost. IÆve been very impressed with the way that you guys handled yourselves. Instead of taking the easy option and rolling over when TCF offered, you stood and fought. I can only hope that the alliance bounces back from this defeat to become stronger in the future. Also congratulations are due to TCF and friends on a well organised assault. I certainly learned a lesson or two about POS warfare from this siege.
To everyone that came to I-N to fight, great work. I was impressed with the lack of smack and bitterness in local. Everyone managed to keep their sense of humour and perspective in what were, at times, very trying conditions.
Interesting times lie ahead in Immenseaà

Thank you
somes battle in post with minimal lag (30-40 sec) small skirmish when more than 300 in local without lag. No crash nodes the whole time i was here
The battle have been really lees influenced by the server problem (like : we can have kill dread if node don't crash or we can have destroy this pos if node don't crash doesn't exist here).

Local was well over 400 many times and sometimes became laggy. But CCP has done well and are still upgrading for us to enjoy big fleet battles. Exiting times ahead of us and thanks guys for smack free fight. We must not forget that this is a game and it's still a= game when we fight. Let's keep this smack free and super fun!

Edited by: Zzar on 15/01/2007 21:40:41 It was an incredible week, we learned much and we came together as an alliance. Sometmes you have to lose in order to win.
Tau Ceti, you came in with overwhelming numbers (not a complaint, just sound strategic planning), and you shocked us initially. However, I dare say we gave you a fair fight and made you work for it, with a little help from our friends of course.
Thank you for a very enjoyable fight, it was a huge relief fighting an Alliance that brought it and didn't run off when things became hairy and did it all in a respectful way.

Does this mean we can have our friggin Tribute for ourselves now?
I'd cry real life tears if I'd have to go into a siege / capital war against TCF again so by far, what Maelstrom must've been through cannot have been easy.
Good work, good luck and hope you had some night fights.

It was the most intense week and a half of my entire EVE life. We fought hard, slept little, and we fought to win. We built this outpost in a little corner of space with our own money and sweat. My only hope is that we did our best to defend it. TCF brought in hundreds of Goons and Red Alliance to back up their seige, and I learned so much about gigantic fleet battles, POS warfare, and huge blobs.
I will say to TCF: A good fight. You are worthy fighters and used good tactics and your capital fleet effectively. The ability to field 100's of fighters on a dime was impressive. I am at least glad it fell to some people with honor.
But mark my words. The resistance to this occupation will continue. We have 6 towers still standing in I-NGI8, and will fight still from their protection. And when they fall, we will fight you in those dark corners of Immensea that we know so well, and you so little.
You shall find no rest in the cold depths of Space.

Your help made it the largest red dot on the map.. for many days.. and to listen to Aimez on TS again.. was just pure sex..
Oh btw at the end of the battle, went to pick up my cans with a hauler.. only to notice my corpse graveyard was missing. I guess that message in local from sharkbait was aimed directly at me for causing all the lag Half way through picking up the cans a TCF fleet warps in.. was like uhh ohh.. (no idea how i escaped ;) but just so you guys know :) those cans were unanchored.. and full of h0t lewt.. should of checked them!!)
Thats it from me for a while :) I'll be mining in jita, until we're strong enough to get back into the fray..

Well, for an ally that was there, I have to say, it was a great fight. TCF/RA/Goons/UNL vs M/LV. Lag was horrible with 450 people in system, couldn't do anything. In the end, it was just not enough people to fend off 4 alliances. TCF could not have done it alone; but then again, that is not what Eve is about. Working together, making something bigger than just yourself. Congratulations to TCF and friends. You fought well.

Congratulations on a well planned and superbly executed strike TCF and congratulations to ]v[ for putting up a good fight.
On a bit of a side note here I feel I ought to defend my corp somewhat, it appears that some people in Maelstrom have assumed that we left the alliance due to the TCF attack. This is absolutely incorrect. We had been planning to leave ]v[ for some time to form the alliance we are currently in (if you are not convinced then please ask one of the Shadows of the Dead directors). We left because we were bored of the area and the political situation (I do not think this was unexpected, many had been thinking we would leave for a while). The only reason we where still in Maelstrom was because of a planned attack against UNL, we wanted to finish the fight with them and then leave the alliance on good terms.
Unfortunately for us TCF saw to it that we could not do this, I am not exaggerating when I say that they attacked literally hours before we where planning to announce our departure to the alliance. So in light of the attacks we informed only the council of our planned departure so that they may judge when best to tell the alliance and we decided to stay until there was no point in us staying any longer. We left the alliance the day before (or two days, I canÆt remember) the station fell to TCF; at this point, barring a miracle, their victory in the system was a certainty and we saw no use in staying. Non the less we left the modules on our remaining POS in I-N and offered to donate it to Vortex rather than saving the modules as we could have done (although the hand over was never effected due to large hostile presence in local).
May I also point out that we did not save any significant assets by our actions nor did we attempt to come to a deal with the enemy to save any of our assets (The deal Frederik mentions was not properly authorised and has been revoked) as far as I know we have no standings set to TCF nor do we have any intentions of changing that for the foreseeable future. In case you missed us in local we where there, admittedly not in our usual numbers but we where there non the less (as I write this we are 2nd on the corp list for killers in January and 3rd on the corp list for ship losses in January and this is on the Maelstrom kill board).
IÆm sorry if you feel that we bailed out on you or that we were cowardly and I hope I have cleared the situation up somewhat. If not, well I guess it doesnÆt matter too much, people will believe what they want, however this is, to the best of my knowledge, the truth.
Anyhow, now IÆve got that off my chest. Good luck to both sides in the future and have fun ----------- When I was a n00b, I spake as a n00b, I understood as a n00b, I thought as a n00b: but when I became pr0, I put away n00bish things. |

Let me start out by saying I will not defend what Eddie said, it was uncalled for and rude however it certainly doesnÆt provide evidence for any of the accusations you, Mamo, then level against us. FDF sold us two carriers at cost, they where not free and the alliance incurred no cost because of this, not to mention that we used them while we where in the alliance for the alliance. Remember who was responsible for the placing of the POS in B-R and the securing of B-R? ThatÆs right TM and what made that possible? ThatÆs right our carriers. Who was responsible for the period when we attacked the GM 8/10 POS and held the system consistently while our forces where in there? ThatÆs right, TM and whose POS was it in that system? ThatÆs right TMÆs and what made all this possible? ThatÆs right, the TM carriers.
I am personally offended by the accusations of thievery. Lanielle and I had access to the holding corp wallet for several months, due presumably to a mistake, (ask Sivaz if you donÆt believe me) and never took a single isk. In the meantime we have put a lot into the alliance, a lot of it we will never see again. We where a major PvP corp in the alliance (nearly half the kill participations of the entire alliance where made by TM or TM founder corp members (check the KB if you donÆt believe me)) and consequently had among the highest losses too and they werenÆt free, they cost us a lot of isk defending your outpost. We leave all our towers behind in Immensea, we did not make a deal to get them out and cut our losses even though we knew we where leaving because we did not want to hurt maelstrom any more than was necessary and we leave behind the investments of many of our members into that outpost, hundreds of millions of isk.
Sure we didnÆt defend I-N as actively or as hard as we usually do and that was simply a morale thing û it is hard to make people lose all when they know it will make no long term difference to them one way or the other and when they believe it is pointless anyway. None the less a lot of our members are now ship less and isk less because they lost all trying to help people who they thought of as friends. Friends who now seem more than willing to deny them their role in the battle because they will not blame themselves for their own failings and think they have found an easy scapegoat.
As for the various other silly accusations: http://killboard.maelstromalliance.com/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=5789 didnÆt use our carriers in I-N did we? (I know itÆs only one kill but the KB is public access, you can find more if you want to).
DHBFoofighter, please keep your ill informed flaming out of this thread. I am not bothered by what standings you set us too but if you need a reason then please use a valid one. I am assuming you mean http://killboard.maelstromalliance.com/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=6420 this kill? As you will notice the TM member was at the very bottom of the kill. He only used a target painter! I believe he has also made an apology to IAC through n sx. He refrained from firing on every friendly target that the gang saw except for the one he target painted, which, granted, was wrong of him but please donÆt paint (no pun intended) us as NAP violators, as that simply isnÆt the case. (Incidentally, yes that is a Vortex member who is 6th on the kill mail)
If you want to choose us as a scapegoat, Maelstrom, then go ahead, do so. However the fundamental problems within the alliance will not go away unless you look to yourselves and see where you went wrong. Despite all that has been said I do not want it to see ]v[ fail but I feel that if you are to carry on independent of others then radical change is in order. ----------- When I was a n00b, I spake as a n00b, I understood as a n00b, I thought as a n00b: but when I became pr0, I put away n00bish things. |

Its nice that JabJab pulls out halfway through the siege and backstabbed Maelstrom. But maybe he thinks to be an elite PVPer (like Ginger Magician for example) you must run at the first sign of trouble.
Why can't people just fight an let the chips fall where they may?

Too much BS to address really. You now your failings, and you tend to highlight them without meaning to. Morale low? Every SOBS pilot knew they were gonna lose every single ship they owned in the defence of an outpost we were likely not to hold. Yet we threw everything we had into the fight while TM members were busy in alliance chat selling ships, or self-destructing them at a POS. _

You tried to save your tower in B-R and lost a carrier while doing it. The tower you have in I-NG that you said you were going to donate is shooting at Maelstrom because you set us to negative.
Oh and uh.. Can we have that Minmatar Control Tower + 6 Large Art's back that we lend to you?

Morale wasn't low Sergio; we were just keen to get on with our new venture. and I like your reasoned argument. dismissal of reasoned argument as 'too much BS' of course makes you right. Anyway, like I said. Blame us if you want to but be aware that it wont help you.

Anyhow, now IÆve got that off my chest. Good luck to both sides in the future and have fun
I can confirm that this has been in planning long before Maelstrom Alliance came under any kind of attack. The main members of our two corporations go way back and they are a great bunch to work with. You guys can pin whatever kind of blame you want for the situation, but to single out Total Mayhem is wrong. Your alliance got attacked by a numerically superior determined force. As for people worrying about Blue standings, we won't have much of that here.

Not everybody wars against industrial alliances.
I simply find funny the way TCF takes all the merits from an operation driven by many entities, weak as usual.
ASCN wasnt the alliance you were begging to attack BoB as it was our "only capable enemy"... Funny to see you call it a simple industrial alliance
Theres a word for people that constantly changes stances on something... It will come back to me... but one minute you guys are saying ASCN were complete **** minus a few players, and now your trying to tell me that ASCN was more then just an immense industrial power?

I don't hate any TM EntroX. Its just rather a pity, a lot of good pilots are being painted in a bad light.. due to the decisions made by your corps leadership.. Its not the first time JabJab and Lanielle have packed up and ran.. Its certainly not the first time Lazor Monkeys packed up and ran.. And now after their Merger.. Total Mayhem leadership have become quite the athlete's..
Perhaps its all that running..?
Theres many individual pilots inside TM.. that have nothing only my respect.. Those individual pilots are more than welcome inside maelstrom.. Its your leadership that have no honorable business inside a thread associated with I-NGI8..

Lazor never ran. we've been in a fair few alliances now but if you look at it, they were all dead or as good as dead when we left. sure our directors have an 'interesting' way to deal with things, but they're just enjoying the game the way they enjoy it
having said all that, i did quite like being in ]v[. theres a good community spirit there, and atleast now you're prepared to fight (which most of the alliance wernt before). its a shame that some complete egits ruin the whole thing

I find this stuff absolutely staggering. Accusations left right and centre with absolutely no evidence, reasoning or substance. Points put in response, WITH evidence and explanation, dismissed agressively, without any sort of justification.
I think we see precisely in this thread, why TMs member (and not juyst the directors by any means) were keen to leave this alliance.
For the record many of us were fighting in IN. Look at the dread killmail for a start.
You have confirmation from an SOD guy above that this was in the planning LONG before TCF arrived in IN. Yet some choose to ignore that in favour of hysterical cries of "cowards". It is a terrible shame that folk feel the need to find a scapegoat and cannot show even the slightest respect for people who worked damned hard whilst in the alliance, FOR the alliance.
There are so many more myths that could be readily dispelled and it is sad and offensive to see them propogated by people leading an alliance such as M which contains a lot of good people. I hope (and believe) that most of those good people have minds of their own and can form their own reasoned views rather than simply accepted the aggressive rhetoric which Mammo and a few others seem determined to put out.

i think hes refering to Lazor Monkeys clearing out of the holding corp of Ghosts of Retribution, taking all the mins/loot and then trying to sell it all to alliance members before running off with everything they could get there hands on that wasnt tied down and bogging off to join KOS
Ghosts was NOT dead at the point lazor monkey left, but they definatly tried to kill it.
in the end the corps that were left went and created a new allinace, but fact remains lazor cleared that alliance out before leaving and left it with nothing to die. ex-Ghosts of Retribution |

I think SOD is a bit to blame here. We have been pushing TM to join us heavily for a while and they kept saying we want to help ]v[ out as much as we can before we left. I think I better just cancel my subscription before I have a stroke..
GM-OK7 POS.. Offline, 94FR POS Offline.. B-R pos they lost a carrier while trying to evac it.. Their last pos in I-NGI8, suddenly begins to shoot friendlies.. Quite the final message of goodwill there TM..
"I don't know what happened in ]v[ with them, but we had a great relationship with them in KOS and ever since."
Their directorship doubletaked.. when was asked them WHAT THE **** was going on.. with their members self destructing their ships in front of the rest of us.. We offered to buy the ships from some of them.. some sold the ships.. some declined and self destructed anyway..
We had many many ships go missing.. that suddenly ended up on the market.. and when purchased.. low and behold.. TM members.
We had TM directorship doubletake when I asked them why one of their members was shooting Blue's.. I believe their response was.. "It dosnt matter at this stage does it?" Nakatah.. you dog.

Why did Vortex pos attack a LV carrier when before that an order was made to put the same pass on all pos and set standings to are friends?
Why did the fleet commander in Maelstrom warp us in to the enemy 2 timeÆs and said he did not and it must have been a bug, something very fishy there.
Before you start having a go at other corp.'s who have left start looking at whatÆs going on inside the alliance 1st and sort it out. Then you will have the rights to have a go at other cropÆs that left alliance. There are still a few corp.'s in Maelstrom who are talking about leaving because the leaderÆs donÆt know what they are doing. There one corp in Maelstrom who said they like to join TM new allianceÆs, so that showÆs some do like the way TM work. Actually no. I left coz I was sick of incompetent leadership. I felt it best that I didnt tell the alliance at the time and incite dissent amongst the ranks, but I guess that doesnt mean anything now. I had started a new corp and planned my leaving long before that 'friend' even joined the alliance. I posted on your forums the day I found out what had happened, many weeks after the event.

Sure why not... makes work-time more interesting.

I dont understand why Aaron would be bitter. Wanting to leave the alliance and start a corp with a few friends seems to me to be a novel way to freshen up ones game experience. To make it about anything else is just petty really.
And really if we're talking about bitterness...the sour pill you guys had to swallow when u lost ur station and sovereignty is something you should bear as an alliance...dont start looking for those who left for their own reasons and blame them. As far as Laughing Bear wanting to join MC or watever happened...he probably just wanted to join a a larger alliance who wouldnt use him for his carrier alt? As a lowly bs pilot I know the cold shjoulder feeling one gets at maelstrom if u dont fly a cap ship or appear #1 on the killboard. Oh WEll, i wish DPSC all the best despite the odd threat i get in i-ng local when docking.

Guys stop the *****ing please!
If M members want to discus things with TM members (or the other way around) either get a room or a different thread!
That said, thanks TCF for a good fight and some good lagg that gave me time to take a well deserved wee :)
And i wish you good luck in cleaning the toilet from my hangar, left a nasty surprise there

My God!
The French + the Russians + Something Awful = the true Axis of Evil.
Just kidding. Sounds like a gf and thankfully it seems that alliance battles can now almost be won by players fighting each other and not the servers.
In times of doubt I ask myself "What would BoB do?", and then do the opposite. |

Yeah I'd never forget hectiQ that evil ore thief. I've managed to kidnap gerku into my alliance though, he seems to get amnesia every time I remind him about Alenia..
Good luck to ya and if you're ever feeling vengeful, come visit me
Hmm, do you recruit? :) I want to be able to shoot both you AND gerku without some Concord stuff etc :) -- Do YOU know, the Whirlwind? HERE |

I would like to thank Maelstrom Alliance and Myriad for having such a good spirit. And, of course, congratulations to Mamolan for his hilarous pictures :)
Best luck for the future.
