Check for the file EVE\cache\Browser\bookmarks.txt
If it's still there, your bookmarks are safe. Save that. If the file is missing, they are probably lost for good.
Thank you, the files are still there but they don't show in the IGB - hopefully this will be fixed as part of tomorrows patch.

Ooops. Ya that one's on me . Machonet deleted, problem solved.

Ok so I just tried to run the eve client, this is before patching, my computer seemed to go into a graphics loop, it was blacking out fully, then changing the resolution, then just showing the banner from msn live messenger and some smilies from the forum. I can send the CCP Blue Framework logs from the "Please tell Microsoft about this problem" if that is any use to you guys?

They were removed due to the number of people using them to coax people into shooting back in empire space and thus, getting concorded.

Might be a good idea to take a very good look at your patch download page/system then and revise it. After all, what's the point of spending money on developers, QA, etc - fixing the bugs and improving the game if people cannot download the patches. This is a serious issue that you should be looking at, instead of shunning. Some people cannot download patches via your website due to unknown reasons (and the system is far from perfect).
There's no archive of patches (if people went on holiday for 3-4 months, they may not want to download the entire client all over again). There's no mirrors (people need alternates to download - they don't need to be in different countries, just on another server so that they have more options to choose from).
I've said this before, and I'm still in awe that nobody is doing anything about it. You (CCP) need to fix issues with your website, so people can download the patch. The reason people are having their accounts stolen via unlegit downloads and people pretending to host "patches", is because your system is faulty, and they need to go to these people to get their patches. ---

Not going to comment on the rest, but if you go to the EVE Patches page to the left you can download a patch based on your current version. In other words, an incremental patch from the last time you played (pre-holiday) up to the current version.
At least, thats how I remember it working when I went on a five month 'holiday' and came back. I just put in my client version and got linked to a handy download.

I know of that, but it's never worked for me (and I know a lot of people who've been in the corps I've been in have had problems in the past with getting it to work). Like I said in my post. The entire patch download system on the website is odd, and works for some, and not for others (even with the correct browser settings). It needs looking at :( ---

No way! This is clearly a bug. If you look at the other probes sold by the NPCs they have had the T2 components removed from their build requirements but they still require Stront.
This bug needs to be fixed ASAP!
Originally by: Jiekon
Originally by: Glaive
Originally by: Beldaws Ok, we have a MAJOR problem!
The patch has removed Stront from the building requirements for the new scanner probes. Stront isn't a Tech2 component. I understand removing Nanotransistors and Hypersynaptic Fibers, but you weren't susposed to remove Stront!
I've invested Billions in Stront to build these probes and have tons of probes on the market that I paid over 80k to build which now can be build for 20k. I don't mind you taking away the Nanotransistors and Hypersynaptic fibers because I can use those for other things, but what the heck am I going to do with billions of isk worth of now useless Stront! I won't even be able to sell the stront for what I paid for it. Now that the probes don't take stront, the stront prices are going to crash. Either way I'm going to loose billions on this goof up.
Please put stront back in as a building material for the new probes.
Patch Notes: "Tech2 components required for the production of the new scanner probes (Sift, Comb, Pursuit, Quest) have been removed. Mineral requirements have also been reduced and balanced accordingly."
AArrrgh! Tell me this is an unintentional error - although I've not spent as much on Stront as some people obviously have, I have however spent quite a portion of my own meagre wealth over the last week or so buying over 5000 units of the stuff. Since when is Stront classed as a Tech II component?
No, this is intentional. All t2 materials and ice products were removed from Exploration Probes.

Hear, hear! I had 500 left after my Christmas eve festivities, I was saving them for a July snowball fight. Cost me 10 million last summer. Do I file a reimbursement petition? Guns/missiles also cause ganks in Jita, nerf weapon turrets!! BTW, Christmas 2005 was only 13 months ago, not 2 years...

Edited by: Agem Arees on 30/01/2007 20:07:09 1) It seems thas some mission NPC were moved to "Mission Generic" group, which is not appearing in overview by default. It is possible to add these ships manually by right-clicking and selecting "Add Mission Generic ... to Overview", but I couldn't do it through overview settings - I simply couldn't find the checkbuttons for this group. Maybe this would be resolved if the cache was cleared, I skipped that part for now.
2) Unless salvaging mercenaries was meant to be painful by design :), you should remove the 160m3 empty cargo space requirement for salvaging battleships. This is caused by probability of getting metal scraps as a result, as far as I can guess.

The mission was Silence The Informant Level 4.
Maybe the list is not full, but all the battleships inside second gate (Mercenary Overlord and three named BS) were not visible by default, as well as named cruiser in last gate (the mission target).

I can't believe you removed snowballs!!!! I spent almost 100 mil buying snowballs over the course of months to give to all my corp members for a present over the holidays. I want a refund or some other compensation! Who cares if someone was using the to get a noob concorded. Isn't that just yet another "game mechanic"? And where is this in the patch notes? At least we could have used them all up ahead of time in a big corp snowball fight!
We not only don't get a Christmas present this year but you take away last year's too! Talk about being a grinch!

A little bit of a warning would have been nice you oafs; I had 50mil worth of snowballs sitting in 0.0 that I never got a chance to use. Plus I don't see the "problem" being a problem, it's been that way since December 2005, and not all of us were using them as concordoken bait. ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic |

Edited by: Akira Zendragon on 30/01/2007 20:49:44 Well... after having all my settings and configs go away, probably because I deleted more than I wanted to, I started to reconfigure my overview and have to point out a few things:
- Cans with mission items only show if I check "Pilot is in your alliance" - Stargates and sentries around gates/stations only show if I check "Pilot has neutral standings" - Mission NPCs only show if I check "Pilot has neutral standings" - Same applies to acceleration gates in missions
Thing is... Mission NPCs are NOT neutral, and the other entities do not have a pilot altogether, and should not be affected by the neutral standings checkbox
Also: - Stations DO show correctly with the neutral checkbox UN-checked EDIT: So do moons, planets and asteroid belts... not sure about beacons. |

Angel Webifiers - Mission Generic Frigate
Also, was the change in salvage volume supposed to help salvagers or traders? B/c now I'm getting drops of metal scraps from Angels where before I was not...resulting in harder to manage volumes of salvage. Traders though get to make more profit even though they don't have to spend 1.5 hours salvaging larger missions while the salvagers just have to deal w/ the same headaches. Just looking for clarification on the target demographic for this change is all. I'll make do either way.

I had the same issue and I happen to have cleared my cache prior to install. The NPC's in my case were all in the mission 'The right hand of Z (a lot of zzz)', with out buddy ZOR making the star apearance.
I wouldn't be surprised if other 'minor factions' fall into the same category!
