Having the ability to drag windows offscreen would be nice.
But to be honest, right now, I would settle for being able to run EVE full-screen (1920x1200) on my 24" screen, and be able to keep my other screen up for other tasks.
Just removing EVE minimizing itself when it loses focus would be great.
Or is that already possible, and I jsut havent found it?
At the moment I'm running eve in windowed mode, which looks "icky", and given how pretty Eve is, i'd like to be able to enjoy it without having the window borders.

It would be VERY nice if we could resize the window to any dimensions we like. Right now I run dual monitor setup with eve on one and eft/eve-agents etc other info on the other, but I can only really use the 1600x900 resolution for windowed mode as using my native res for windowed causes some of the game screen to be off of the monitor, inaccessible.
That extra space I could get from manually increasing the resolution to fit snug against my task bar would be invaluable. As it stands I have to go to full screen for fleet ops because I just don't have enough room windowed.

You can actually use any resolution you want, by adding a custom resolution to your video card. The choices of resolution is derived from the video drivers via DirectX capability queries, so adding a custom resolution ends up adding it to eve. It doesn't even have to be a working resolution, just being in the list will work (though if it is working, you don't want to switch to fullscreen in that size).

Signed for maximized mode!
EVEMover does a nice job of making it workable, just having this feature built-in to simply remove borders would go a long way.

The ability to drag windows such as chat, market, character sheet, etc to a seperate moniter is all I ask for. Please CCP support this!

I'll throw my name in on this one. Dual monitors are the only way to go, and I want better support for it, with cool bells and whistles. --- All 390 skills trained. |

Won't really help you much trip, until they add a columns feature to the character sheet so YOU can USE that extra space...

signed, c mon ccp, its in its 11th page! this is something people want! the only problem i see about one account on 2 screens is the edge of the monitor, there would be a gap, but i would probably get over it.

Lol, this thread is still alive. !!!!SIGNED!!!!! again, like I already did 2007.03.31 09:37:00 on 2nd page. EVE haz too many (important) windows to be on one screen. When in fleet in drone ship, even my 24'' screen looks small with all those panels open: fleet, gang, aliance, corp, cargo, local, search, drones, overview, broadcast, gangmate watch...
CCP: GIVE!!! Obey! Or some other whiner will quit and EVE will die.

Removing EVE minimizing itself when it loses focus would be great! CanŠt play in windowed mode, as the games becomes very unstable and slow - even on a newly set up system.

Would love dual monitor support. Eve is a complex game which is why I like it. Two screens would allow us the players to make better use of all the features that are available in eve which will make us all more happy. Happy customers = more money :)

I've been looking at a screen replacement for a while now. I'm sure if CCP announced proper dual-screen support in an upcoming patch, I'd be 100% sure to get an additional display.
So bring it on! :) |

I would love this.... or at the very least be able to stretch the windowed mode across my other 2 screens (3 total screens). That fixes the gap in the center problem.... I would buy you a "Box of Joe" to fuel your programming efforts |

Originally by: Katana Seiko Well, all you Devs need to do is implement the possibility to shut off that stupid "feature" of the game to minimize itself when the game looses it's focus. Very simple: There's a little routine in the base code that checks if the game has the focus. If it has, the game continues as normal. If it doesn't, the game minimizes itself and maybe adds a little delay before it checks again. Now, add a little checkbox in the escape window, under adapter and device. Let it say i.e. "Dual Monitor Support". Now, if that one is checked, that little routine that I explained above, won't be executed anymore.
Now, on later updates you may add more options to a second screen, but this would be the best you could do for now...
This.
No other game I have ever played minimizes itself when you click outside the game window when running in full-screen mode. For me this is *the* most important change of any kind. Champagne for all devs at CCP if they fix this bug.
How to reproduce this at CCP? Take any PC @ CCP with EVE and 2 screens. Run EVE. Set it to full screen mode. EVE now occupies one of the two screens. Move the mouse to anything on the other screen and click. Boom! Eve minimizes itself.
From a financial point of view, I would think that more people would get 2nd, 3rd, 4th accounts if this were fixed.
P.S. I work with stuff like this and it's almost certainly 2-3 lines of code in an event handler as Katana Seiko points out. If I had access to that piece of code I'd even volunteer to fix it myself for free.
