Very nice map. Very informative, specially showing the hidden vassals and the current movments. Only thing I still prefered on old map was the greater precision (that comes form not using hive structures).
Anyway.. congratulations.
If I may give a suggestion. You could put small marks on knows outpost locations. That would give even more depth of info on where tha advancements are directed.
If brute force doesn't solve your problem.. then you are not using enough!! |

To anyone that has recommendations for changes:
Please list briefly the change you want to see, the area it effects, the specific systems/constellations if you can, and your justification for the change. Since we can't be all over the universe at once, if you say Alliance X is attacking Alliance Y or that Alliance Z is dead, we have to take your word for it. That's why we intend to update it often, so that even if people post somewhat inaccurate information, chances are the map will be changed back quickly to account for the truth of the matter
Also: anybody that wishes to edit the map and repost it in these threads is welcome to do so. This map is held by GoonSwarm as property and we allow everybody to modify it for their own purposes so long as it's in a constructive manner. We reserve the right to take your modifications and incorporate them into our new maps, of course.
Enjoy!

Edited by: Troubadour on 26/02/2007 15:33:47 it's misleading because in fountain, D2 aren't able to hold anything and aren't making any progress, perhaps the arrows should not be there or facing the other way. Also, Aftermath Alliance are doing far more consistent damage to D2 then Xelas in fountain, why no mention of them?
And in delve, AAA is doing nothing more then running big fleets through and then getting ganked, not really challenging any sov or anything. not much of a front if you ask me.

I find it actually a bit more clear then the other map, because of the hyves structure you see the position of each alliance a bit beter, maybe tune the hyves a bit down so you could see the underlying systems a bit more.
On the otherhand who are you kiding, this is as much propaganda as every other post on this forum. SO I'm sorry too say but actually hope this one doesn't get a sticky. And I really don't think a up to date maps makes any difference, it's not like you are going to loose the station/system/region when it's not changed on the map within a week

Where is TRI on this map? We don't hold any space but our capital fleet in Querious was a important part of coalition force. We have also most of our forces at south and working closely with Iron. If it is political map we should be on it. If it is only a souvereignity map no point in making it because I can get it ingame.
I think you should mark BoB allies in different colors just like you did with coalition forces (again: this is political map not souvereignity map).

Nice map, nice look.
However, your impartiality will immediately come under question. Your opponents are going to have a hard time believing that you will not use this for propaganda purposes.
Having said that Joshua is not impartial either, he is a BoB tennant. Yes he has been one of the best mapmakers EVE has had, but he is too close to one of the major powers.
I think it is possibly time for ISD to choose a new mapmaker... an impartial one.
Over time he will become biased too.. but that is the way of EVE.

The arrows as a symbol seem a bad idea to me. They remind me of the opening credits to Dad's Army if anyone remembers that ^^. Also makes it quite hard to show fighting impartially, since you have to show one side as 'winning'. Other than that, good work!

A suggestion.
Perhaps you could change the colors around to make for example Red and their allies various shades of Red, BoB and allies various shades of blue, and D2 and allies various shades of green with non-afiliated entities yellow or gray. That way even on a zoomed out level, its easier to distinguish the powerblocks.

Excellent map, and a much overdue balance to the alternative. It'll take time to build up a reserve of credibilitywith the community, of course, since you're one of the major combatants, but the lack of major arguments with it is a good sign. I'm also impressed by the adult attitude from the bulk of the posters from both sides: only a couple of let-downs there.
Nice work. And hexes are luvverley. I can delete the text and use it to fight Jena-Auerstadt when logged-off.

I'd have to agree. Front's are usually show as a rectangle if they have not moved. Or as a rectangle with an arrow showing which way the front has moved from last map update if they have moved.

I almost like this map. I'm not 100% fan of the octagons, they seem... I dunno, too imposing.
Also, josh's map has WAY more info on it, you seem to have just scaled down the info.
Otherwise it's nice.
