The term 'self-fulfilling prophecy' applied long before this war began and that is testament only to your failure to demonstrate or prove the majority wrong in their belief that you are affiliated with BoB. As shown by ISS, neutrality is not an easy state to achieve and retain in EvE and your decision to base yourself in Bob space and attack their enemies simply reinforced what I and many others have always believed about MC anyway.
You can comment about tinfoil hats all you want but now that you have at least openly announced your intentions, I don't see why you choose to continue with the pretence that it could have gone any other way.

So true. In order for someone to hire you to go after bob instead of defending your space would have to make an offer of many billions to cover your lost revenue, stations and assets, etc., that you still have outthere. And no fighting force in Eve is worth that I think.

It is an interesting point. But I do not know if it is a validated one.
Alot of people think about MC in a negative way. However the majority(not all) but the majority of those people represent members of the coalition. I do not think that our repuation has been tarnished nearly so bad.
Reputation is a curios thing. Our reputation has changed since the inception of the MC, I dont think that can be doubted. but i do not know if it has been a particularily bad change. I know that when MC war-dec'd and helped kill COE well over a year and a half ago (i had no clue who mc was at the time) I had little cause to like them. When they attacked KAOS empire to soften it up for the RZR/MM takeover i respected their combat abilities. I think that general respect for combat skills has not fallen. It may have changed as our capital abilities begin to take precedence over our smaller warfare imperatives, but I think it IS still there. Many of the MM and RZR and even D2 pilots said they enjoyed or had a great time with the northern contract. They may have doubted our neutrality, but that as always, comes with the business.
While we fought against Maelstrom alliance, (my first MC contract) maelstrom didn't particularily like us. When we fought FOR maelstrom (sadly only that one day) they loved us.
I think it is very telling that nobody made the offer. It means that they feel that we were not needed. Or it means that they feel that there was no chance to turn us. Both may be wrong, both may be true. All i know is that we are once again at war and the echoes of space will run red.
Does BOB really know what is best for MC? no. Does MC know what is best for MC? yes. We can be a cog in a cohesive machine, or be crushed as a solo cog against another giant machine much like maelstrom was against a foe they could not hope to be able to due battle with on an even field.
While overtime you have proven your combat worthiness, I think alot of people see you as more of a political entity then an actual merc outfit, and choosing to live in BoB space didn't help that at all. I think the MC would have been better served by moving into one of the border regions, or even an NPC region would have led you to being seen as a less political organization. Its kinda like when ISS let LV come to iss space. Sure, it looks good on paper, they get a station and some nice allies etc, but it led to ISS being more or less destroyed as a relevant entity. Anyways, living with bob led to people not really considering contracting you, and infact made you a target.

Sadly, you are correct in that we have begun to be viewed as a political entity. It was not our wish but it was a side effect.
when the MC first had to choose where to end up living, Period Basis ended up being the best choie at the time. Maybe it was the wrong one, we will never be able to find out how things would have went had a different place been chosen. ALOT of lamenting has been done over how perfect the new regions would have been for MC had they only been released like six months earlier, but alas, they werent.
One of the curios things is. Without our capital fleet, which is partly the trademark of MC today, we would not get the contracts we get. Without sovereign space we could not build that capital fleet. It is a curious pendulum.

You know it's funny, but after our forums were sacked by some hacker/spy's we have yet to see such data spill onto the field. We know that the Mittani had access to our forums, because of his rather public posting of a screen shot, and from what I have been told we were hacked quite meticulusly as well.
yet no details of fake contracts have been plastered onto the field.
Maybe this is just at the discretion of those that have had access to our forums, but I like to believe, that this would help to put those ever-present and unsatiatble rumors to an end. Or at the very least silence the mob of those that cannot stomach why someone would want to pay us to attack them.

i have seen some brilliant political moves in my time, but this one really does take the cake. MC are friends of BoB. Period. So go stick up for your friends and landlord. I believe the only reason for this post is give MC a scape goat should BoB lose. Then they can say..."we were under contract, we are neutral." That of course is total bull. The northern coalition leadership should wipe MC and BoB off the map if they can do it. If only for the fact that you even accepted a contact against them. If they cannot then we will know who the best in eve are. You are good PvPer's and the organization of BoB is incrediable. They have been good to MC and you should stand by them, but dont pull this lame crap in the forums seleene. Its going to be a good summer  . |

To be honest, I can't even entertain this idea. It's laughable to be honest. Anyone that thinks BoB would lose a fight like this really doesn't understand BoB and I'd also question whether you really understand the organization you are a part of, the MC. Laarson said it best in a post he made yesterday. BoB is a war machine, unmatched by anyone. Delve will turn into a graveyard for anyone who tries to uproot them or tries to occupy the area. As I understand it Seleene is trying to imply the following
1) They are and always have been neutral
2) They were provoked by Northern forces and but for being "paid" in this contract and their "attacks", they would not be in the war.
So Seleene, please explain why Waagaa's Aeon was sitting in the middle of a BoB Dread fleet in ED- over 1 week ago as BoB shot an IRON POS. Note of course, that ED- is not a system that has seen any AAA activity nor is it a system that has any MC assets in it.
The responses so far to this have been:
1) From Seleene; "I don't know who "waarga" is and do not imply we were guarding anything" - Note I mispelled Waagaa as Waarga while accurately giving him the ship type.
2) From Waagaa; something along the lines of "I like condoms, was I guarding their bodies like a condom?"
Care to actually clarify what appears to be obvious confirmation that you have been working to help BoB against entities that you claim were neutral to you at the time of your help?
