Edited by: Amarazo on 03/03/2007 18:22:26 Trying to repost again Posted - 2007.03.03 18:12:24 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hey guys!
This have now been troubling me for a long time (2days) and I think it is about time to bring this out to the general public here in EvE. The other day I was in a Pretty decent number taking the 9cg Station. It was pretty amazing I was so happy as I for the first time got my computer to be able to run in large fleets without no lag what so ever. I were sitting at a POS though wondering what to do, as I been taking lots of screenshots during these days I asked to go and take screenshots from the group shooting at the stations. A Nice FC said that this is not a problem, so I went to the station happy with my finger ready to take some shots ;)
I was trying to get the perfect angle looking at the other ships.. found a really nice with a Naglefar in the background and the sun slightly to the side.. hehe
Now all hell breaks loose, I get hit by a LAG spike but as I am so used to it from before i dont think to much about it... the intr part is though as soon as the LAG (frozed screen) goes away I see that my ship is in warp to a 9-4POS... This is a POS I NEVER EVER been to. It was also from the direction I came so it was in my back... This is a BoB POS. I NEVER initiated my warp, I have played the game enough knowing NOT to jump to moons unless you are aware of what is there.. as I did have the friendly POS bookmarked there were no reason even if I wanted to go to the POS I would use bm and not hit it from overview. Ofcourde I drop out of warp at a perfect range from the BoB pos which is in reinforced... I try and warp out, but ofcourse I am scrambled. Not going to give up that easy I start to MWD away. I managed to travel 52km before my t2 fitted Tempest goes to the battleship heaven. I was a bit angry, thinking that well I must have made something in the lag, a few min later though I got more ppl reporting their client starting initiation warp to the same 9-4POS thank god they managed to stop their warps and no more ships was lost.
I started to talk to CCP and you all know the word that I get back:
"We hope that you will recover soon from any loss in this matter.
If you require any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us again."
I now got into a new fleet and sat in 3-F on the EFA gate when hear to my amazement that again ships are starting to initiate warp on their own AGAIN to moons in the system.
I have now had enough of the bull and want GMs or who ever is in charge to really look into this, I can agree to loose ship in battles that is "fun" but to what ever you call this It is NOT acceptable.
Pls if anyone else got more info about similar situation pls let me and who ever it might concern know so we can fix this "bug/exploit"
Best regards to all of you that make EvE fun! Amarazo
P.s couldnt be bothered reading through it again so there will be bad gramma and bad english but I hope you will understand.

My fleet commander and squad commander were both idling at the friendly POS waiting for calls to do anything. They were just taking a nice little rest.

Edited by: Sigos on 03/03/2007 18:27:39 Are you sure it was not a fleet commander/wing commander/squad commander/boss that was warping you? It is possible that one of them accidentally misclicked or, and I should hope not, is a spy.
EDIT: Sorry, had the window open for a little bit before I submitted. If there was not someone else who could have warped you, then it should be looked into.

I forgot to say that in the first initial warp I were the ONLY ship that initiade warp, just one single ship out of a 100man fleet. No more... It was just 1 ship every time never more then one at a time.

Gang warping could of course be the answer, allthough the log would clearly say that you are "following (initiater) in warp" and thus could easily be discovered.
It sounds like a Gangwarp however, allthough that would suggest a corrupt FC / Squad / Wing / Gang commander and I would never say such a thing on a public forum!
I would like to play this card as a suggested explanation.
Edit: Btw, add your corp / alliance names under forum settings of the mods will play a totally different card that involves locking on your thread ;)
Edit: You just did, or I was blind, nvm =P

It's this new structure bob is allowed to online in their pos. It's called a magnet. It will randomly draw 10 ships an hour to their pos as long as their standings are negative or neutral. If there are no neutrals or negs in system it will teleport random people from jita at a rate of 3 per 10 minutes until requirements are met. Also their pos' can pod you now... permanently... It deletes your character.

What scrambled you anyway? You do know that when POS goes in reinforced all the systems requiring cpu go offline?
Guess it's better not even commenting rest of the things...

I got the same problem one or two times as well. I had a spot at 300~400K of the Torrinos gate in EC to escape from bubbles and check the gate. Tri (which you'll know I guess ) was camping there. I was alligned though and as well trying to use an angle to zoom in to check if there's a bubble. At once I see 'WARP DRIVE ACTIVE' and there I went! You can imagine that my ship didn't liked that, petitioned but same kind of answer.
That warp problem happened a little while after that as well, but I managed to stop warp fast enough. Both situtations I was solo and Im 100% sure I never clicked 'warp to'. Quite strange, but never happened again, other things replaced it .

I heard you guys had a lot of friendly fire incidents in 3-f as well . So you guys had an FC gang warping your own people to hostile pos's (it does happen from time to time) and your first thought (as is typical in these forums), OMG, BOB DEV H4X, THE SKY IS FALLING, OMG OMG !!!!ELEVENTY-ONE!!!!! It's amazing how people ignore the obvious and jump to ridiculous conclusions rather then admit stupid mistakes (whether it's your own your someone elses in your gang). BOB could you please disconnect your "backdoor" access into the servers and stop warping hostile gangs to your pos to get obliterated? mmkay thanks!

Id just like to point out, you state you were Warp scrambled by the pos, while in re-enforced mode.
This cannot happen as when a pos is in re-enforced mode all cpu modules get turned off. thus either you didn't press warp :| or the pos wasn't in re-enforced mode.
so i guess you could get your ship back from a gm.

This happened during the I-N siege, however we did get a message saying that someone initiated the warp, however he claims he pressed nothing and i would agree with him because we warped again this time no one initiated it.
However i don't think this is a exploit but a bug that can happen during lag.

Ok I was scrambed and webbed by the POS I repeatadle tried to get away.. I mwd for 50km and and tried to warp nonstop.
And I have been talking to GMs they saw a gang warp by fc but that was 20min before so this was NOT a FC nor SQUAD COMMANDER warp.
about the reinforced mode thing, didnt know that talking to GMs about it, but I am pretty sure about the name of the answer;)
Anyhow seems to be ALOT of ppl already that have suffered from the similar incidents.
keep the thread going

If you're saying the truth and not trying revive the "BoD" concept, it's obviously a bug imo. I can't see the point of making "Amarazo taking beautiful screenshot from his God class tempest" warp to a POS for a insigniant kill/loss :)

Just to add a bit. If it was a gang warp, you would see the message "following xxx in warp"
The message is only displayed for a very short time, but I would be suprised if you missed it..unless you had ctrl+F9 while taking screenshots

OOOR, tinfoil hat time, unless he had messages turned off like most people do in fleet battles. But you guys are right, they probably hacked the servers, paid off CCP and warped your fleet to the POS. Given that information you can never win this game soooo, can I have your stuff?

I say again I did not do any kind of gang warp.. GMs did find a gang warp but that was 20min prior to my Loss and that was from the gate to the friendly POS. 2123 or something for the warps that gms could find and I died at the POS at 2142 or something like that so they dont got any log that any FC or so gangwarped me. already cleared everyone in the gang... I am not suggesting that at all. It would be far simpler just to get a spy in gang as squad commander anyway
Btw..I keep messages on, I like to see what ammo does what damage. And it doesnt reduce lag...it improves client performance. These are two different things. My PC runs at 30Fps in fleet battle (zoomed out ofc), so I can live with messages on You signature graphic must reflect your ingame persona as per The Forum rules - Kreul Intentions ([email protected]) |

Edited by: Topaz Skydiver on 03/03/2007 19:59:34 Never happened to me, when I didn't click anything. But some weeks ago, I jumped into system, initiated warp to another gate to regroup, but landed at a moon with a pos. I had luck and got away with my BS. I couldn't explain it, but thought it was somehow my mistake. Next day, same system, similar situation, our gang is told to jump in and warp manually to that gate again, but I land again at the same moon like the day before. Turned out that it was not my mistake, 3 gang members landed there, too. I have still no idea, what it was. ( Maybe the moon was behind the overview so that I selected it accidently, but how likely is it that it also happens to 3 other guys ? )
