Rig it as you please, I prefer some Falloff, a little tracking, and a shield EM resist.
With my skills and hardwiring, it hits 747 DPS with Hail and Drones, but the 616 DPS with EMP.
This setup is evil. I use one less gyro and add either another speed mod or a shield enhancer in the low. I would use missile racks in 0.0 as the engagement ranges tend to be greater than low sec where I can usually get in range to drop twin neuts on the quickly-capless target.
I've used the 425's on this setup and found no real practical difference to the 220's except in terms of ammo consumption. YMMV.

Here is what I am thinking, feedback would be appreciated.
Hi's 6x dual 180mm II 2x medium "knave" energy drain
Meds 10Mn MWD webber warp disruptor 1x t2 multispectral
Lows 1x t2 Medium Repper 1x t2 Damage Control 2x t2 Gyros 1x PDU 1x 1600mm Rolled Tungsten
Drones 4x hornet ecm 300 1x vespa ecm 600 I am really wondering if the 1600mm plate is a good idea instead of dual reppers. If I didnt fit the 1600mm plate I wouldnt need the PDU, so i would probably fit a EANM or an active explosive hardener. But if I do this then I am guessing that I would need to switch out the multispectral for a medium cap booster. Haven't flown a Cane long at all so I am just wondering what setup is "best". Thanks for the input.

This is more of a gang setup that solo pvp.
6 220's----2 med nos 10mn ab/20k scram/2 cap recharge 2 2 MAR2/ ken/therm/exp membrain, cap relay
can run both reps indefinetly when ur get ur nos on. with good skills think you could drop 1 nos for launcher and still run reps, or better yet, keep the nos and drop the cap relay for a gyro. benafits from a buddy wit a web, but even solo in low sec, its not a slow ship, and you should be able to catch a cruiser long enough to pop it (all of what 20 seconds) wouldnt go up against a group with a nuet ***** in it tho. you will die faster than that cruiser :D.

ok first of all i want to see you run into an inty pilots whos moving 9k a sec around your ship at 17k with a tracking dis a mwd web and jecter and tell me you can hit him...ive gotten my claw through every gate camp ive ever run into even onces with hugs bubble and other inties chassing me and never laid a finger on me id like to see an ac fitted cane do that lol.especially when i have a sig radius of 27.its not easy youll be lucky to hit the ****er in most assault frigs m8.

Its actually pretty easy, if they are solo let them get comfortable and move away, OR if they have friends coming pop ECM drones, laugh and warp. Though I am wondering how you have a sig of 27 with a MWD running.

Something im using with low SP:
6x 220mm Vulcan Is, 2x Heavy Assault Launchers Named AB, X5 Web, 20km Scrambler, Electrochemical Capbooster w/800s 800 Tungsten, EANM I, DCU II, Damage Mod, named Repper.
Drones: Whatever you fancy.
Im pretty fresh to flying Canes, but I really like this ship and so far ive had good times with the setup. Not sure how others feel about it, but it seems to work well for me. ***

Okay, brand new to the hurricane and the BC Class....
So i've seen most people use the 220mm AC's on their hurricanes forgetting those smaller ships etc. Now i'm under the impression that for something moving super fast, the 180mm's are truely devestating.
So my question is this: Is it feesable to use say, 4 220mm cannons and 2 180's so you can get both big and small? I'd have to have a interceptor running circles around me preventing me from doing something that i want to do.
Also, whats with all the shield extenders etc. I was under the impression that the Hurricane did best as an armor tank. Am I missing something?

Just use 180's the damage is not much worse, it saves on grid and tracking is better. The Shield Extender setups you see are mainly gang setups fitted for max gank as most like to fit 3 gyro2's in the lows.

I've heard not to use plates with a single repper, but the 1600mm rolled tungsten puts on equivalent HP to running a MARII for 150 sec. with my build. If the fight isn't over by then, you should probably have run away already.

I used to like Neut/Nos, but the ships it could cripple don't seem to get into range of them, and I only end up getting out-drained by bigger ships anyway.
The disadvantage is that the plate makes the ship manuever like a pig. But it tanks pretty solid and leaves room for 2 damage mods. The DPS comes in over 500 with great skills.
I like to run with a tackler, so it gives you the flexibility to drop the disruptor (I like to keep the web anyway) and fit a sensor booster or some kind of ECM, and also drop the plate for another gyro to make it more damage oriented.
Could I do better with this build?

I don't use rigs
This is my fit for 0.0 gatecamps or small roaming gangs. For larger fleet engagements I will drop the web for an extra Large Shield Extender. Cloaks allow for survivability when in those small gangs or when solo-ing; hurricanes make juicy targets, so knowing when to fade and stay quiet keeps me alive. Very similar to the other nano-fitted builds mentioned. You take a DPS hit in order to get that extra speed (I fly 330 m/s without the MWD on), so remember to change your tactics accordingly - when solo-ing hit & run like a stabber, no toe-to-toe tanking like in a plated rupture. In fleet battles you're simply extra DPS, no key roles.
Orbit slow people (like a 'cane with 2 med reppers ) at 15k to avoid their med NOS, melt their armor faster than they can rep it - your 180s will hit her more frequently than the slower 220s hit you - pulse the MWD to keep your speed between 600-800 m/s. Smile and say 'Yarrr' while you do it.

It's a challenge, but yes. Especially if you can find a BS fitted for missions, since they're usually designed for long range engagements and will lose to an AC boat. Typically a short-range BC (any BC) will lose in a fight to a short range BS.

What is the most appropriate AC to use on a solo pvp hurricane anyway?
180s get spectacular tracking but low damage, 425s vice versa, 220s in the middle. I've aways been using 425s, and as long as I've got a web I can generally catch any ceptor. (either because of their flying or my MWDing into web range)
my current setup: 6x 425 II
1 10mn mwd II 1 x5 web 1 scram
2 MAR II 2 Gyro II 1 EANM 1 Damage Control II
hole are filled according to situation/mood...any recommendations? Thinking about throwing an LSE into the mix too. -------

If I understand your scenario, I think this is a poor set-up. You will go out with one friend in an EWAR frigate, so I assume (s)he will be tackling, as you lack a stasis web as well as a warp jammer. If your friend was to die, you would be left without a web to stop a tackler, no jammer to hold weaker targets, and no MWD to get out of or into range. I would never ever ever solo in this set-up (it's simply not doable - anyone you could beat would simply warp away), and in my thinking a 2 man gang is almost solo'ing, because you don't have enough people to really specialize and excel in a particular role. The lack of damage is also worrying - where will the DPS from your gang come from?
This could be a good bait ship if you had a larger fleet waiting to warp in once your target agresses you.
I may not understand your situation, so take this as advice, not gospel.

Yes i guess it is a solo team (it's me, and a friend doing his ewar gig, and sometimes a domix drone nutjob that has no idea what he is doing... and even more rarely an overly under-equipped raven pilot that thinks he's king with only 2.5 mil sp. Yes I'm part of the wackiest bunch, but as you can imagine, very funny at times).
Anyways, what would you recommend then? I'm not terribly T2 literate for guns (never specialized in medium guns), but mostly anything else I'm golden. So any suggestions? For the old person that never bother with a BC till now :D (though i probably should have 2 years ago...)

I'll look into that, however, I'm pulling a blank, whats LSE? and would i be fine without the rigs? There terribly pricey... lol
