OK, im seeing quite a few posts about privateers on these forums and seems people dont have slightest idea how to organize and fight them.
Heres one simple solution how to start fighting them:
1. Create chat channel "Kick_Privateers_Butts" or something along those lines where whoever is at war with them can join, offer/gain intelligence, form gangs, etc..
2. Use that chat channel as central point of intelligence against them (their movements etc). And ofcourse use that channel to make forming of gangs easier (nobody whos in war with them, should fly alone in empire. It just gives them exactly what they want (free and easy kills))
3. ORGANIZE. Meaning: kick their asses until 90% of them leave privateers or the whole game. Simple fact is that if you take away those easy kills, quite a few privaters will leave.
And no. I'm not at war with them, so i dont give a damn about that worthless alliance. But this constant whining about them is just plain silly because theres very very easy way to organize against them.
You dont need to be highly skilled pilot in huge alliance/corporation. Only thing thats needed to defeat them is bit of organization and teamwork.
EDIT: and intelligence also means that people who cant fight them (haulers for example) can go around their gatecamps (less easy kills, less "fun" for privateers)

what makes pa attractive to the corps that pay for the war decs, is the possiblilty to just have some weeks/month fun and then leave pa and become untouchable. so in order to defeat pa, corps/alliances should wardec thoose corps who -just left- pa, destroying that sence of security that makes it attractive to them.
So whenever a corp leaves pa, wardec it.

Yeah, theres lots of good way to ruin privateers (like devs actually fixing that completely broken and exploitable wardec system).
But my point was that theres no reason to go "OMG! why did privateers wardec us, whine, QQ!" when wardec actually happens. Organize and kick their butts and joining privateers for easy kills becomes lot less attractive in the first place.
And another point was that theres easy way to minimize your losses during war with privateers. Might aswell use it.

however, actually paying attention to, say, local, does the trick too..
besides, nothing bad in bears having to be on their toes

if i leave privateers do you promise to wardec my corp and still fight ?
Only reason i joined privateers was that all my 750 targets ran or stayed docked when me and my only 2 corpmates came flying.
Sure as in every wardec first day is about flexing your muscles.
But after that everyone tries to hide, which is fine it's a valid tactic tbh.
BUT i want targets cause the thing i find in the game to be fun is shooting stuff.
So the easy way was to join privateers just to get some more targets.
And tbh it's actualy hard to find some even in privateers.
And got to give props to DVRN thoose guys play rough and that's the way i like it.
The usual this is my personal reflections and NOT privateers.

Sadly, watching local doesnt really do much good if youre jumping to next system. Thats where gangs and intelligence kicks in and saves your ass.

Amusingly enough I've seen MC pilots on killmails alongside D2, Razor, and the like when it comes to Privateers, often shortly after we've popped a few of their alliance mates elsewhere :S
I for one love the idea behind their organization. If a bunch of people want to pool their money to wardec everyone, then that's their perogative. If anything they help keep people on their toes.

and furtermore, name any larger allaince/corp that doesnt do that these days.
dont get me wrong, i consider people running from fair fights lame wusses too, but fairness is strickly subjective

LOL last corp i was in was in war with pa, when i went out looking for a fight with them i couldn't find them, left that corp for personal reasons (not the war) and last nite when i warped into my old home system, what do u know, about half a dozen or more pa's camping the station LOL
But is that really the only reason pa wardecs so many people? just for the heck of it? no deeper darker purpose at all???

They dec and run away, its nice seeing them being reduced to smaller and less powerful ships, like tech 1 nasties \o/
The chances are now, you see a privateer at the gate, he thinks about engaging yourself, turns tail and runs.
I dont understand this logic for people who wardecced :P
Regardless, i was quite happy with the fact that we got declared, gave us a free war and something to do.
However the severe reduction in targets is making me and my friends very sad. Please sort it out privateer. A war is for life, not just for christmas.
