I for one hope the devs start hunting us, will be kinda fun :)
People that whine about griefing... there's a whole hell of a lot more griefing that comes from sitting on the jump into 0.0 than what we do in Privateers. People seem to think we just sit on major stations and wait for lag to kill our opponents for us, and while I'm sure some members do that, most of what we do involves small skirmishes against targets that are hunting us because they, like us, WANT a fight.

I hope Privateers realise that it was fun while it lasted, it added a bit of spice to the game, but wasn't really sustainable from a gameplay point of view. That the changes announced are reasonable.
But more importantly that Privateers have left a mark on Eve that will not be forgotten, nothing lasts forever.

A sour ending of a fresh idea.
I would have preferred to see the true ending of this drama, when after the great southern war ended in a couple of months alliances would deploy hunter/killer groups, finally able of diverting resources to fight Privateers.
But alas, all things come to an end, and in my opinion Privateers achieved a lot of goals set by themselves.
They disrupted corp and alliance operations, causing uncertainess and instilling fear upon those forced to PvP for the very first time.
Ah well, the loot was not too bad either for them.
Isn't it interesting Privateers did what CCP is praying for years now, to engage more players into PvP?
As for this character, Flapp paid 50m to Privateers to declare war upon him for a week.
Flapp was not there for kills, but instead to just try to get a grip of what all the fuzz was about.
Flapp discovered systems full of Privateers unwilling to engage, docked at stations.
He noticed gate camps so uncoordinated any competent friggie could blow them up.
And he found the true power behind Privateers: Quite some veteran capsuleers roaming solo, you know this type of guy: Unsatisfied with Eve.
Those guys are what made Privateers dangerous.
I estimate more than 50% of them to die once Privateers is no more (as in cancelling accounts).
Privs did it, no matter what.
I do worry about the survivors though.

I'm actually amazed CCP did this, I'm sure plenty of people have gotten a 2nd account to haul and do other empire crap without having to worry bout getting ganked. CCP just cut a bit of their income now.

I am am no Privateer fan, ..but
Have you fought any of them? They have some seriously good 2004 vets, and I have had a few memorable gang fights with them. Those Rightous Choir boy guys for example, dam skilled pvp'rs (yes I know they left  )
We all know a minority of them like to shoot undocking targets in Jita, but if you think they are all fools..then I suggest you go fight them and find out for real
btw..glad to see Privateers are finding humour in this now, you guys will be just fine
