i once was in a corp who decced GM corp. all we got was a message stating that if we did not withdraw the war they would ban our ases.. but gl if u actually get a war on em.

My bet is that you Privateers will find a way around the new war dec system an still can pop targets
I have to admit, i hate to run into one of you guy's. But the war dec makes it al little more fun when i'm mining a belt or running a mission.

Come to think of it... This would be a nice opportunity for the folks in charge to make a bit of a playerdriven event out of it.
Many people would sign to see a small Jove fleet putting an end to a threat that is endangering the integrity of concord and empire space, or something similar.
They could integrate this in the backstory.

IMO privateers turned empire into old 0.0, before capitals came to be. Random camps, everyone watching local and nobody using autopilot unless they wanted a trip to their clone station. This wont end with the nerf but it will become only for the main alliances and personally i think thats sad.
The privateers were and are an educating experiance for some and i would imagine a kick up the backside to the players that most alliances have that hug empire like their mommy's leg.
Personally I dont like 0.0 pvp anymore do to its capital heavy, lagtastic nature where pvp MATTERS a lot now, instead of chucking a few ships together for some fun, and for that reason the privateers even though i was never a member will always have a place for me.

Here's hoping that the Devs hop into some Jovian ships (not the Polaris ones that you can't lock, the full on Jovian ones that you can lock) and bring the fight :)
I fought one of those Jovian battleships on Sisi once, they're pretty awesome.

i can see privateers simply splitting into 2 and carrying on might mean they need to recruit mroe dissasisfied PVPers from lwo sec and 0.0 wanting something different but with player growth numbers this wont be hard

I fully endorse this idea and can only hope the last days of the Privateer Alliance as we currently know it will end with an excessive amount of death and explosions.  YARRRR!!

Hate to be the one to tell you, but CCP are changing the rules just because of them. You might not agree with what they are doing, but to try and play down the effect privateers are having on eve is just ignorant. Go read the Nth thread posted about them all over the forums in the last week.
History will decide what kind of bragging rights that will give them, but given the talk about corps that have been solely responsible for singlehandedly bringing about game changes such as Moo etc, privateers already won.

Its actually quite amazing to see ISD have a sense of humor about this. A few years ago when I was the CEO of Spectre Knights, I war dec'd ISD in a PR move meant to highlight the plight of The Reclaimer and the unjust gag order (e.g. forum ban) imposed on him. All I got was an angry eve mail from Kieron warning me!

Does 'proper' wars go together with 'real pvp'? I want to make sure I don't irritate any 'real' alliance people by not participating in 'real' pvp in a 'proper' war.
