I think it would be one of the obvious choices, as he has the biggest interest to find out what's there to find, if there's anything. _______________________________________________ Skip a line or two, get a rest, then come home. _______________________________________________ |

I'm also very good at working with technical people, as well as reporting details back to a group.
Originally by: ShadowDuke I figure I'm as good a canadite as any. I am actually going inactive to beta test WAR, and can easily get time off work. If it hadn't been for dev dishonesty I would likely be playing both.
I have been involved in several beta test, understand the MMO model, and can get information out of people without them saying a word (body language tells you more than words some times).
All that said, I'm not very well known, dont have a stake in any alliances, and represent the empire industrialist. Many of which are quietly sickened by the precieved wrong-doing of CCP.
That sounds awsome, would anyone agree to a debate on the forums? Not with me of course, I'm to chicken
And if so who would you like to debate?
Do what you want to EVE, as long as nothing fun is taken away and anything new is fun.

Is there 9 spots?
If so then I'd suggest 4 from alliances and 5 for unaffiliated folks who have a strong desire to raise lots of questions for CCP and not fanboys who would just treat the trip as a factory tour.
A mixture of new and old players would be good, and I'd rather not see the 'celebrities' (Forum junkies) automatically getting nominated just because people know their names.
Gomh Sabbah is the number 1 person I'd nominate...He's genuinely funny, mature, intelligent and hard-faced!

simple reason, any normal person cant do this stuff, even if he knows how to do an audit. hell, ccp made this game and they have it difficult tracking this stuff down. why would a bunch of random people be able to do better?
Because its about saving their image and restor confidence, not actually change anything. . . Sorry to be honest, but this is damage control, not change.
The main problem with the idea that the community votes is that most of the people who are well known in the community are already very influential with CCP. This is natural and in no way wrong - but I think if they really wanted an unbiased group of 9 people, they would draw them out of a hat and send them an eve mail to reply to. If you respond, then you get the job - a random cut, not some PR campagne to 'win our hearts and minds'.

Well, I'd be interested in the opportunity. If CCP is reading this topic, it has been pointed out that a player-voted group may be biased as well. The powerful alliances could vote in someone that isn't exactly perfect.
There should be some qualifications:
Business management experience
No ulterior motives
Lots and lots of free time
An ability to remain neutral, friendly, and profesional
A good sense of humor
The ability to drink beer. ---------------------------

I nominate myself as it would show CCP cares about the arse end of the world by flying me 38 hrs from Australia to participate. Furthermore I would be so jetlagged as to not make head or tail of what I was reviewing, unless of course CCP offered me a stopover in my country of choice Lastly I am open to bribes from the major alliances, so vote for me

Originally by: whiteouter My suggestion, would be to have a rotating oversight committe. Could be selected by 'lottery' rather than 'voting' on an annul basis. Anyone, considering themselves upto the job, would notify ccp of their interest, then the said 'lottery' would take place.
Right... the T20 thing and the T2 lottery itself are just sooooo wonderful we need MORE lotteries in this game >.<

Well, it's a better use of the lottery system than bpo distribution, although I agree to an extent that it's corruptable. After having slept on it, auditors, must be external monitors, with no affiliation with ccp.

It is beyond me why CCP even tries to improve things with a collection of people who seems to be religiously convinced that CCP is corrupt. Instead CCP should release a new boxed client called the EVE Online - Carebear Edition that lets you log onto a certain server where you will be always escorted by a large fleet of CONCORD ships, this version also includes a neutrally colored teddybear, a bonus soundtrack with licensed bedtime tunes and some tissue for those awful moment something bad happened. Also, instead of being rated 18+ or M, it will be released with a inviting 7+ rating.
It is clear to me and should be very clear to CCP that there is a rather huge portition of the community that are crybabies and this is the way to regain the whiners trust.
But if CCP actually decides to go with this idea, they should take this into consideration, it should be people who is not playing the game but has enough knowledge about the game itself, its aspects of gameplay, its core and its community as anyone playing EVE can be manipulated in one way or other. Think indepedent auditor and you know where I am going.

7 pages so unlikely anyone will pick up on this, and I am uncertain if it is already posted.
No disrespect to the forum addicts/posters, but seriously, having people whom either are good posters, or are members of the big 0.0 alliances are the least of my primary choice.
If truly for the benefit for the game, then it should be someone that actually understands what the role should be, understands the history of the game, and actually know what is expected.
Unfortunately, this "council" has the potential to become the biggest "measuring" contest both in an Eve, and irl context. I don't want that. For a change, I want someone to do something because it is the "right" thing to do and is motivated by the greater good rather than the greater greed.
There are ****loads of intelligent, honest individuals in game that neither belong to the elite poster club, nor are part of the major 0.0 alliances. I hope when people sign up for this endeavour, they realize they are signing off on based upon their real life credentials rather than their ingame ones. It carries more weight for me to have "John Doe" put his/her personal integrity on the line rather than someone named "(insert Eve Character Name here)."
This isn't to say forum posters and 0.0 alliances don't have such people, I am just reluctant to become an advocate only those people should be considered.

Janks would be a horrible choice, because he dont know much about audit (or audat), but he scream audamn when he be shot at.
Janks also knows aushucks, which he say when his ship explodinates, and aumanwhyyoudothat when his pod gets squished.
He also know aucrap when they be shooting his buddy Crazy Janks when he hauls in new ships and gear and gets jumped at the stargate. Then theres auyaaa, when he finds good loot on wrecks. its "Au****YAAAAAAAAAAAA!" when its good named stuff, because like, it is worth more than T2 now, thanks to inventions, which is really good for fitting ships but bad for feeding the starving childrens at the end of the day when selling loot.
Then theres the aurunaway when the cyno fields are opening. Oh dear, Janks things this joke has run its course...
For that, he like to aupologize.
