Edited by: Jamie Hara on 11/06/2007 15:00:57 Please explain this statement:
Magnus: First, Titans have the Doomsday Device, which obliterates smaller ships if nothing is tanking for them. But many of the larger ships can protect the smaller ships from that sort of thing.
"But many of the larger ships can protect the smaller ships from that sort of thing."
Someone please explain how larger ships can protect the smaller ships from a Doomsday Device.

Well if all the big ships congregate in one area, and the small ships in another, the Titan pilot will probably doomsday the big ships hoping to maximise damage. Hence big ships protecting small ships.
Maybe?

Quote: Magnus: They refuse to admit that theyÆre losing to another alliance, and the only explanation that they can figure out is that those guys are cheating. Not just that theyÆre cheating, but that theyÆre cheating in cooperation with employees at CCP. That seems to be the only logical explanation that theyÆre coming up with.
While the question probably put you in an awkward position, this is a really, really amazing thing to say. How can you possibly present yourself as a respectable business while making sweeping comments like this about your customers? *snip* - please do not use that signature. -Ivan K |

That isn't protecting. That is diverting which can be done with ships of any size. He said that many of the larger ships could protect smaller ships. Does he mean logistic ships?

That is just class that is. You'd think Kieron wrote that line it's so condascendingly untrue.
Was I the only person who noticed that Kieron's big massive page debunking the allegations glossed over the rigged Aurora in THREE lines? Re-iterating the allegation and finishing up with "but we found nothing wrong" isn't proof of anything at all.
And failing to mention why BoB are allowed GM friends, and Goons aren't. That doesn't add up to proof either. Still. Deaf ears, and all that jazz...

Yep, BoB certainly aren't beating us because they have higher SP, better co-ordination, better individual skill and more resources. Nope, they're cheating.

God knows. Maybe he was talking about remote repping and such? Doesn't make much sense, anyway, seeing as it's an instant HP hit, not a damage-over-time thing.
Whatever it is, it's a tactic that I've not heard of.

Look at it this way. GS and friends painted CCP as being a corrupt, game-rigging disgrace of a company across the internet in general. Why bother just saying "no this isn't the case", instead, say something to the tune of "well, we don't blame them, they're a bunch of idiots taking a game way too seriously, who are losing so they make a bunch of wild accusations". It undermines GS's credibility far more, making the accusations sound rather more ridiculous. From that perspective, it sounds like reasonably good business sense. And he doesn't really come off as unprofessional. Certainly a bit dismissive and patronising, but not really unprofessional.
Ofc, the Eve community now knows GS doesn't have any credibility, but the rest of the online community may well still have some belief in the allegations.

This would ruin the company. Hence, their made up and vague statements about them being false. Goons refusing to admit loss? More bias from BoD? Goons barely even attacked BoD since they obliterated LV.

There are many forms of DDOS; you attempted a DDOS by flooding the forums.
A more serious and effective DDOS would be in the form of a TCP flood or HTTP flood, of course, but flooding the forums is still a DDOS, though a weak and pathetic one.

Are you that delusional?
Lets take POS bowling. You know who invented it? IAC.
You know who copied IAC? BoB.
You know who was petitioned and told to never do it again or get banned? BoB.
You know who then did it even when BoB was told not to? Evil Thug, of AAA. He stole BoB carriers this way.
Then, and only then, BoB resumed doing it.
If you don't like POS bowling, blame Evil Thug, or blame CCP. Don't blame BoB, who didn't start it and didn't get it declared legal either.
