Many of my buddies ingame have started small corps and are creating alliances waiting for the day BOB gets so big that an attack on all sides will create mayhem and disorder in their ranks....of course looking at it from a different perspective it may of course take a few more years.... They've held their alliance together, despite predictable infighting, which is an important test. Whether or not they can take all of 0.0 is debatable, but only time will really tell. Even if they don't, they can still be proud that they impacted the ingame lives of many people. I'm not gonna be a ******* BoB pet though, I'll tell you that for nothing. And I might have a Something Awful forums account, but I'll never be in Goonswarm either. It makes for great vicarious drama, however, and I'll cheer for BoB until I don't. But since you made this nice post, that predicted the fact that we will conquer all 0.0, and BOB (alliance) will be nerfed, and had the intelligence to put Privateers in the same sentence, I had to reply. I'm not sure if you mistook my post for more than it was meant to be. There was no irony in my post... I would like to see BoB completely over run 0.0 I would. And my Privateer compliant was actually a jab at CCP not BoB, or you... I am sorry if you think it is, I just meant that when ever a player group is gaining an advantage or having fun doing what they do, CCP goes neuf-tastic and aligns with all the screaming players and caves. It was a throw away statement, I would carm down if I where you, but think of it this way if BoB did have control over a large percentage of 0.0 (I am talking 80-90% f regions), would CCP be happy if it was effecting the game mechanics / player experience.

Now I'm reading people saying CCP is going to nerf BoB and throw them in the trash!! How the times have changed...

Why in the god's sake would you create a game and then win it yourself, what would essentially mean no more money coming towards you? That said, there were some facts about certain DEVs helping BoB. It happens, you can't control every employee of yours. It was taken care of, measures taken to avoid it in the future. So what if some DEVs play the game? When they play it, they can test it first-hand. So what that they joined one alliance, although I really doubt there are no DEVs playing in other alliances, just rules of conduct doesn't allow to tell about it. Facts are that the more people play this game, the better it is for the DEVs and their families. Thus they will do everything, I mean EVERYTHING, possible to increase the happiness of players playing the game, so that the players recommend the game to their friends, they to their friends and it continues. That means... they will NEVER allow BoB to 'Win' the game. Especially after China's server lessons. There will come some nerf, maybe it will touch all alliances, maybe only the largest holding alliances, but something will happen that will prevent BoB, or anyone else for that matter, from ruining everyone's gameplay and cause large money losses to CCP. I have played game(luckily round based, where game resets at intervals) where a group of us would just dominate eventually. After complete domination, of course, there were people who broke off our group, but the 'core' members of organisation who made it all happen stayed together and of course slaughtered any opposition, even if it was equal in numbers, but much worse in organization and tactical intelligence. In the end, noone even tried to resist and everyone(including us) started begging for early round end and reset. What I want to say with this, the talks about some pets uprising and so on... It's is just impossible if the core of BoB, the guys who made this all, and the actual number I bet is way below 50, not the 2k+ members of BoB, stays together, they will face all the uprisings and come over it. Unless some serious stuff happens inside the 'core', I really doubt the well-oiled machine of BoB can collapse. Thus they will receive the famous nerfbat to their gameplay, preventing them from conquering the game. On the other hand, it would be very much fun for all the role players around EVE to stand on empires' side(yeah they should unite then) to fight the mighty GBC attacking the empires from all sides Wonder if empires could really resist the 50 titan force instapopping all the capitals How about GBC vs Jove war? P.S. I am not an alt of somebody who has 'CCP' in front of their name :)

The Empires grows weary and afraid of the power of the BoB alliance (criteria for this to happen == number of alliance systems owned in 0.0 space, and applies to all alliances that meets the criteria) and thus goes to war against it. It means, npc fleets engaging BoB targets, no access to high-sec space in order to force/put some pressure on alliances of significant sizes. It means, that any alliance that steps over a certain boundary, the Empires will react due to fear. This makes it difficultier for alliances such as BoB to conquer all 0.0 space without a propher fight, HOWEVER, it doesnt mean it shouldnt be possible to conquer all, just harder. Its an extra stick in the wheel, but not forced and limited borders of alliance growth. Other gameelements that support the spawn of internal conflicts, or guerilla warfare tactics could also be an option to put pressure on almighty alliances, to add more flavours to the gameplay. Want to own it all BoB? it should be some rocks and downhills towards that progress in terms of supportive game elements.

While many find them annoying apparantly; I like the strive between the two. Makes sure there`s always something interesting to see/happen. That said; imagine of one or both would suddenly vanish. True taking over certain sectors would suddenly be easier; and less worry about the superalliances. But wouldn`t that take away a bit of the game & fun? And yes; I`m pretty new; just an observation I made.

If you've ever played Ryzom, just think of BoB as the Kami and the Karavan spliced into a single, giant, heaping Deus Ex Machina for 0.0 space. Yay.
