Would it be possible to have on one of the beta servers a free univerze frig area where we could wait playing PvP during unregular downtime :-)

The server is unstable but does not reboot. I hope there is some at CCP to push the button.
REBOOT
Come on, you know how to do that!

I got the timeout thing a few times afte logging due to severe lag/desync. Then I got Connection to server was closed. Now I'm getting:
Quote: Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong.
I have an internet connection (obviously) and the other two problems would be at CCP's end.

there's no reason they can't simulate 20,000 user load. I mean, its not like couldn't macro it. I use several tools (web application stress tool for instance) for simulating load on our web applications - 5 simultaneous up to 500,000 simultaneous to see where the pain points are at the different load levels. ========== CELES KB: http://www.celeskills.com

Edited by: Oupla on 25/07/2007 21:18:47 So much training time lost. Will they reimburse training time? I hope so, the bug already is a shame, not to add more on this.
Each week there is more and more downtime. Even planned downtime has been extended. Why?

CCP,
Thnaks for the game it is a very good one. Running so many players on the servers is a hard job thanks too.
With these two days of crash my patience is off. I hope you will dock my ore and my retriever for me tonight otherwise it will be destroyed bu Girustas.
Sorry but I don't want to wait still 3 hours checking the server status this night.
Cheers, Yank.

There's significant differences in complexity between a web application and a game with the depth and breadth of Eve, I know. This is why there are testing tools that _simulate_ people doing stuff - macro ratters/miners/mission runners have that stuff down pat and use it with the full client. Say, they simulate 15,000 people jumping around, 2500 people mining, 1000 missions of different types, 1000 market traders, 500 pvpers for instance? Then have the 5 people that are ACTUAL people jump in and do stuff while its under this simulated load? Maybe it would help prevent this "patch the emergency patch that patched the previous emergency patch which patched the first patch after the expansion deployment" crap.
The problem isn't the simulation, it's the size of the test server, which is limited in power as compared to the actual game servers.

Doesn't matter for client memory leak testing. One client jumping around doing stuff should exhibit the same problem without regard to what else is going on server side because the server has no control over the client's memory allocation. ========== CELES KB: http://www.celeskills.com

The reimbursment policy state : " Losses caused due to disconnection as a direct result of a server node drop or an unannounced server downtime may be reimbursed pending investigation by, and at the discretion of, a GM. Ships lost due to lag or non-server related disconnection will not be reimbursed. "
Guy, I will not reconnect this day cause it is too late for me to get back my retriever from space. NPC will pop up and kill it because i don't have drones in space. I'm not in your reimbursment case what will it be done for this case ?
And i will not make any petition to see if you read this forum through all the post or if you read the complete stats of what happened due to the server crash.
Regards, Yank

Please CCP, tell us you will handle lost training time.
Tell us too if we will be able to play tonight. If there is a big problem, just tell us so we can stop waiting to connect to save our skills/ships.
