I was sleeping until DT so I thought FOOOOD. Then I thought it's time to play server crash. Can't log in. Then I log in wait a few min and Hi here I am. Maybe I must go outside and enjoy the only day there is no rain. But I will take my laptop with me cause when the server is back online I WANT TO PLAY!!!

I work for a company that provides services for third parties. We have scheduled downtimes where we can do what we like, but should any "unscheduled downtime" happen, they won't settle for a "industry standard is 2-4 hours" they will fine us if we have too much downtime and they can freely terminate the contract should even small outages occur too frequently.
Wish I worked in the "industry standard" you speak of.
We get nothing back because it's part of the agreement we signed for when downloading the game, doesn't mean we should sit quietly and take the broom handle.
Maybe I should clarify, thats 2-4 hours for a fix and get back up, not to get there and start looking. Any company that believes you should be able to get there, find a problem AND fix it inside a "nondescript" timeframe needs to be told how things work, or maybe they should pay for a backup systme like any reputable company would

the server is doing very weird my ship had his own will and i heard people screaming on every channel that the space was collapsing and the building stones of space where thorn appart
makes me scared

that's the most worrying thing i have heard so far - "there has been some crash dumps created from the Server process it's self and they have been sent to microsoft."
no wonder the servers are crashing all the time if you're running win98 (probably not even SE)

Yes, but if they did that it should be put in the eula under the bit where they take more money off you for every time the servers came back up early. You'd be out of pocket if they implemented that one. Maybe they should charge you for every expansion ala WoW too.

on that part eve rules. WoW is harvesting money. CCP style rules on that part.

OK, I work in IT. I understand that servers go down. It happens.
My question: How often does this happen? I have been playing for two days - if this is a regular thing, they can blow it out of their arse.
At least war***** is more stable.... (waits for flames)

If the server went down cleanly, your ship will still be there.
If the connections went some time before the server really went down, your ship might be dead. In that case you can petition it, and may get back everything destroyed in a few weeks time.
You'll not get back stuff that wasn't destroyed (ie. dropped in the wreck). The wreck will not be there when the server comes back up either.

Not often, don't let all the flames here dissuade you, EvE is an ecxellent game gamepley wise and although is has problems occasionally, it still isn't up to the level of crap that we had to put up with when i played WoW.

You'd get ride like this maybe once per month, not more often. Patch days are worst, but now its strange cuz there haven't been patch lately.
